It doesn't sound shady. It sounds like a company that is embracing the idea of becoming independent, yet not wanting to burn it's bridges on the way out.
Does it have to be half to not want to force a certain amount of people to make a redundant purchase? That's really the issue here. Even if it was 5%, it's still good business to offer something that doesn't make anyone double dip. Undercutting the "competition" makes very little sense considering that they are largely targeting people that already own a PS4. The majority of them are not as likely to own a gaming rig and would have to invest in that first.
Who pretended that? They simply listed the contents of the box. (which will obviously include a label stating that the camera is needed) This "core" bundle is for "core" gamers that are more likely than not going to own more niche products, including the camera.
@thunderbird...they have every right to only license. However, the way that the two handled the initial bid (when there was supposedly an open competition for bids) was shady. There's a letter trail that pretty much confirms that a 'deal' was made before any other bids could be placed. So, no other company really had a fair chance.
I would think that the actual work would be divided among the various artists. But, totaled to 1000 man hours. That's still a crap ton of work per car. But, then again, they are insanely detailed (down to specific bolts and rivets) if I recall correctly.
@LamerTamer...therein lies the issue. You, coming from the PC background, have no problem with upgrading mid gen. Others have issues with it. Once again, we're not talking about an 8 year cycle. These consoles weren't built with that in mind. Last gen was an aberration. Prior generations were about 5-6 years. All that I am saying is that it's not entirely fair for consumers that might have just jumped to the PS4 (let alone those that got one at launch) to release an upgraded versi...
collusion.
lol
"I see it as being like PC gamers..." THAT, IMO, is part of the issue. While there are likely gamers that play on consoles and PC, there are far more that are console only. Thus, they don't have the mentality that upgrades are right around the corner. For console only gamers, they are used to the upfront cost being the only investment that they will make to have the best experience available with that particular console. (aside from games, services, and peripherals)

Consumerism isn't just getting what YOU want. (no disrespect intended) There are many people who would feel slighted, as early adopters AND recent purchasers, for Sony to suddenly drop a more powerful console just a little over 2 years into a generation. Consoles have NEVER gotten the smartphone treatment. So, naturally some console owners wouldn't be expecting this paradigm shift. Console owners (aside from Nintendo handhelds) have been used to the standard 5-6 year cycle of investme...
So...$450??? Still cheaper. 2 Moves and a camera puts it at around $510...still cheaper.
I think that Sony had an estimate of 20%+ of PS4 owners didn't own a PS3. (doesn't mean that they came from Xbox, but that is the likely pool)
I've seen the reasons be varied (even on THIS site). Some are the way that MS handled their reveal and the mess surrounding that, reliability issues/concerns, and concerns about 1st party support that weren't related to Kinect. I haven't heard many cconverts stating that power was a factor.
IMO, it's probably mu...
While what you said might be true (at very least to YOU), NONE of that is worth a 10 million dollar lawsuit. Regardless of what you or I might think of Jim and his videos, DH is outright trying to silence his criticism. That is a dangerous precedent.
Oh, you can sue for whatever you want (as long as you aren't in small claims court). You just won't ever get it. Most often the judge will use guidelines and precedents to establish parameters for how lofty a reward is warranted.
Generally, the same puzzle theme is kept among all of the games. Some puzzles are just there to keep you occupied. However, the majority of them are crucial in the way that the game unfolds. So, in essence, if you enjoyed Grim Fandango's puzzles, I think you will enjoy Day of the Tentacles.
And instead of giving some profound speech, he just tells a joke and disappears into a point singularity. I'd die laughing.
That's the thing about this game. There appears to be a depth to it that isn't readily apparent. It can be simple, if you want. But, to get the full experience, you have dig deeper.
I fully agree that this game isn't for everyone. Some people need instant and constant action. Some need the constant direction of strict missions and goals. This is NOT that kind of game.
As for being 'old skool', I'm as old skool as they come. Cut my ga...
I agree about the animations. They are crazy detailed. Those are the little touches that go a long way on games.
Nice!!! Thnx for the info.
Is it online only? Does it have a mp game? Is is 1080p 60fps? 😄
