Agreed. What was there was fun. Shallow...but fun.
You hit on something that has been studied and is important. Games do a LOT to keep mental fitness as you age. Not only "brain training" games either. Simply put, there are very few things that can keep the ol' neurons firing better than gaming.
Nice!!! Play on, playa! Lol
I get being upset that people won't get to experience the game when they wanted to. But, that's been the way of the industry for years (though seemingly more pronounced this gen). It does come off a bit entitled (or maybe the word we are looking for is spoiled) that people would send death threats and rally against a game of this scope (being made by an ultra small team no less) for what amounted to a little over a month delay.
I hate delays as much as the next person. But, I...
Freedom of speech indeed has limits AND doesn't come with it freedom from reaction or consequence.
I understand the trepidation. But, I wouldn't say that the devs are over-promising as much as those that play and read about the game. Sean Murray has been very careful in the way he explains and shows the game. If anything, he's been the counterpunch to the hype machine. The concept has caused many people to heap tons of expectations on the game. IMO, it won't be for everybody. It will be less stellar (no pun intended) than the hype machine wants it to be, But, it will still be a...
The difficulty comes with the idea that everyone starts at a random spot on the outer reaches of the universe with limited tools. (That's one of billions of planets surrounding the center.) People must craft or obtain the materials to upgrade the ship and it's drive just to reach nearby planets, let alone leave their own planetary systems. (which, from what we've been told, open up as we explore) So, coordinates won't do much good if we haven't unlocked a complete star cha...
Both the baseball and hockey franchises were shelved because they underperformed (against the competition and in sales). However, they could return to them at any time. Football has been locked down by EA for years because the competition had caught up and EA colluded with the NFL to get exclusive rights to the license. Two totally different situations.
There's a fair bit of it all. There are diehard fans of CoD. There are those that buy it because that's what is being played by their peer group and they think they are somehow missing out. There are some that equate gaming to just CoD and sports. Hell, I've seen people log ungodly amounts of hours into the mp and claim that they don't like it...simply because they want to 'get good' at it. At this point, it's just one of those "license to print money" ga...
@ITTechHeads...with a name like that, you should know that you can get a comparable smartphone (often cheaper priced) to the iPhone.
Disney sits on a cash cow of IP. They just seem like they thought that they could swoop in and just print money. While that might be true with most things Disney, the videogame market is either you strike oil with surprise hit or you pan for gold with a series of modest misses all the time hoping to hit the mother lode. I guess the risk isn't worth the reward for them.
Such truth...much hurts. 😄
Only if you can walk the dog. 😊 (Sorry, it's the only Yo-Yo trick I know!)
Good song or not, IMO, it didn't really fit the trailer. THAT was the issue. The fact that it was Kanye just made it worse.
I'm with Immortals in the idea that I haven't really liked a Kanye record since he left school. Can't say it's all bad. It just doesn't grab me like his earlier stuff.
Honestly, I haven't liked Kanye much since he left school. (the series of records) Some of that has to do with the new, formulaic sound that is prevalent in today's music. Some has to do with his experimental stuff that just didn't seem to work. But, a LOT of it has to do with what, IMO, seems to be a general lack of care for what he is actually saying anymore. (much like a lot of today's music) He either is far too convoluted in trying to make a point. Or, he simply rambles o...
Can you imagine the mo-cap person doing this one??? Bet the crew was all over the floor.
But, this was true before you acquired and decided to get into the business of videogames!
Re: Uncharted 3...it can STILL be good AND the worst of the series. These ideas aren't mutually exclusive.
Agreed that it was a niche title. But, that and Minecraft are two different niches. I don't see one necessarily dooming the other.
Very nice glimpse of the soundtrack. I wanna know the whole thing.
