They need to dig up Jumping Flash...motion sickness be damned! That game...in VR...my goodness.
I can remember when the arcade got a VR station. It was a platform with a pole that had a VR helmet attached. I think I paid $2, which was 8x the price of any other game, to play some 'space flight' game with green, vector graphics...and I couldn't have been more excited. I'm guessing that they only rented it, because it was gone by the end of the summer.
While I am extremely interested in VR from a personal, entertainment standpoint. I'm equally excited for what can be done outside of gaming. Google Cardboard has already helped to save the life of an infant with a heart defect. The surgeon used the images, projected in 3D, to visualize the malformations and create a procedure. I'm anxious to hear more stories like that from other occupations.
More people, now than ever, drop insane amounts of money on luxury items. (whether they can afford them or not) People take off of work and stand in line to spend money on minor upgrades to a smartphone that they have only had for a year. They buy consoles, gaming rigs, HD TV's, tablets, etc. Are any of these really a necessity? Nope. They are all, in their own ways, just really expensive toys.
That being said, I don't see VR being "mainstream" in a year. But, as ear...
The way that I see it at this point, VR isn't meant to replace traditional gaming. It's just an alternate experience. You could do this with genres that you are completely familiar with, but actually experience something totally new. I would imagine that (on some level) it's like taking the step from 2D sprites to 3D graphics. Or, the first time going from 3rd to 1st person. It's that step closer to feeling like you are in the world that you are interacting with. That being sa...
P.T. Barnum, is that really you??? 😁
Destiny 2 was planned from the day that we even saw Destiny. They even laid out their schedule for release. So far, they haven't deviated.
They called it exactly how it is...the low end of the high end. Tech-wise, PSVR sits at the lower end of the high end HMD's (some might argue some bullet points where it is equal or better).
At any rate, if you were gonna drop...whatever...on a device, it obviously wouldn't be a Sony one with all of the unnecessary trolling that you do.
What you saw were videos that were very basically giving a limited tour of the mechanics of the game and less what the game is about. In essence, this is a survival, exploration game where the 'goal' is to get to the center of a vast universe (18 quintillion planets). You travel to planets to gather resources to upgrade your ship, gun/mining tool, and your suit so that you can explore further into the universe. There's an interplanetary police force that will attack you if you kil...
Honest and true. IMO, the game will meet certain people's agenda and won't for others...just like the vast majority of games. It's okay if you like or don't like a game. Just don't be a douche about it. (not talking about you!) Play what you want and let others play what they want. Fun is had. We all die happy...then hit the reset button.
Either everything is average, or everything is awesome. Pick your poison, I guess.
You throw enough sh!t at the wall and something has to stick. lol
Personally, I like a mixture. Sure, I love seeing a game and knowing that I'll have it within the year. But, I have never minded getting that first trailer for a game with a TBA release date. The only thing that turns me off is seeing too many games that will release within the month (unless it's a special mode or something) because, by then, we've pretty much seen a crap ton of coverage.
The REAL problem is that people (on both sides of the console war) confuse technical analysis with review. DF doesn't "slander" a game before it comes out. They analyze them to see what kind of technical wizardry is being used to achieve what we see. That's it. There's no mention of story or mechanics, because that's NOT what they do. That's what reviews are for.
Having said that, some people just like the inside scoop on tech info. Others like to use it ...
Why So Serious!?!?
I was hoping that one of my friends, big MOBA fan, would pop for the $100 package. But, he'd already gotten the lower pack because he's trying to play all the new ones. Guess I'll wait til June.
If I recall correctly, the devs states that Driveclub could run at much higher framerates, but it wasn't stable. So, they opted for a stable 30fps on release. For the VR, I'm sure they will sacrifice some graphical bells and whistles to reach the stable 60fps reauired for VR.
Do you even Leprechaun bro!?! 😁
I'll say more than 1!!! I win the internets!!!😝
Give me Ace Combat 7 and my boyhood Top Gun dreams will be fulfilled.....Hiiiighwaay too thaaa danger zone...oops...I'm still here! 😁
