I think the information is sound. It's just that I don't know what the author is expecting from a GAME. Games tend to take a LOT of creative license. That's kinda what makes them FUN. Otherwise, they'd just devolve into life simulators. I get that people aren't fond of the character, but the mechanics seemed to advance and provide a lot more options than the original.
That was shown at Paris Games Week...both times I believe. There's still time on that.
The people that are aware enough to know about a UHD 4k blu ray drive are likely to know that the Scorpio is right around the corner. Casuals haven't really gone crazy over any of the many price cuts of the original Xbox One. (even with free game incentives) So, I don't see them going crazy over this new one. It will likely have some initial traction from those that want an upgrade but aren't prepared to drop money on the Scorpio and those that wanted a second system and was waiti...
What really sucks is the idea that these are the consoles that they probably wanted to make day one. But, they were afraid of a backlash for pricing. If this is the direction we're headed, I'd rather pay up front to make it last than have to upgrade every 3 years to get the best. Or, have these options from day one and let us choose between "high end" and basic models.
Phil HAS said that the Scorpio marks the end of the traditional console cycle. Maybe he still meant mid-gen. upgrade. But, that's an awful beefy mid-gen. upgrade. (maybe just enough for those bragging rights of having the most powerful console) Who knows at this point? At least he's still saying that it won't turn out like cellphones. That's not what I want for gaming..from any company.
This is the way the console business has been forever. Companies try to keep as much exclusive as possible to increase the profile of their console. It's not a Sony thing, it's an industry thing. That's why you have to buy a Nintendo to play anything Mario. You used to have to buy an Xbox for anything Halo. (apparently now the next will be released on PC as well) Of course, Sony has their franchises. What you are looking for is some sort of unified box. That just isn't likely ...
There wasn't much risk of 3rd parties ignoring Xbox, even without the PC crowd. That's basically why they want to remain 3rd party...to maximize profits. The strategy is aimed at getting extra revenue from the PC base for little more effort and expenditure than putting it on their own store. (which I believe is part 2 of the strategy...get some of that STEAM money) It's a very different approach, but smart. Now, let's see how well it works.
It's new. That's what happens. Hell, the PSVR sold out of pre-orders in a week. That's not a trend indicating that it will take over gaming. It just means that early adopters are doing their thing. I'm not downplaying what MS has done. I'm must saying that this is the usual upswing for new game tech. It will sell...especially early. What MS needs to do is keep that sales momentum. While offering their games for PC is good business and should get them some revenue, it's...
Now it makes sense that it is not Egyptian mythology. Their mythology is grouped around a chosen few, the Pharoahs, being the embodiment of gods on earth. They were given this distinction by the prior gods and basically given the reigns to the heavens, the rivers, the earth, and the afterlife. Kratos couldn't be truthfully seen as a God of War without that blessing from the prior gods who have long since given up their control. Sure, they could have messed with everything and forced him i...
ISWYDT 😅
There are not supposed to be exclusive games on Neo or Scorpio (if you trust the company heads). So, no it won't be multiplatform. It will be like PC. Buy the game and the PC (or new console) provides the power to provide the high-end experience. That being said, the devs will have to code for different specs. But, they supposedly won't be selling high-end editions...if you believe the company heads.
It's not strong-arming anybody. It's business. That's like saying Taco Bell strong arms people into buying tacos and not burgers. No, they offer tacos. You want them, you buy them there. (not a great equivalent and more hyperbole to make a point) Sony's studios are owned and funded by Sony to make games for a Sony product. The idea of a business is to create a "need" for your product and capitalize on that "need". Sony has created a "need" for the...
It's great for the brand. But, as you noted, doesn't really bolster (and possibly hurts) the value of the actual console. MS wants to leverage their brand by using their service as the most valuable asset. The. real question is will the PC crowd buy in? As joeorc noted, PC gamers don't want to pay extra to play games. (we're reminded of that constantly in the ongoing PC v. Consoles debates) If they offer the games for free without restrictions on PC, it will prove an easier se...
Kratos wasn't always and solely a "mindless" killing machine. He's a spartan, so killing was part and partial to his culture. But, that wasn't mindless. He was driven to become this machine as the gods decided to wreak havoc on his life, as he perceived it. So, yes, he had to rid himself of much of his humanity to go toe-to-toe with the immortals.
In this reveal, it seems that we see him in a bit more reflective state after his blood rage. Bonding with the &quo...
So, just about every major site, facebook, youtube, reddit, neogaf, etc. all united in this grand conspiracy to pronounce that Sony won E3? It's a unanimous decision this year. The closest that I have seen is a website that declared it a tie between Sony and MS.
That being said, it's obvious that you don't agree and might have gotten more out of the MS conference than Sony's. But, you were probably more interested in MS to begin with. IMO, MS has had 2 great conferen...
I don't understand this impatient thought process. I don't need to know when a game comes out to know that I want the game. There is a steady release of games, so I don't have to sit on my hands waiting for one particular game. We have seen, from every side, that delays can and will happen. That, imo, is much more disappointing than not knowing when a game comes out. (even then, it's not the end of the world) If you've been a core gamer for more than a couple of years, you...
Battlefront is a game. Supposedly it comes free if you purchased the new Battlefront. Remember that this is like a new console. Except, this is the first time in over a decade that this kind of tech has been tried. Also, keep in mind that many of the regular games will have some sort of functionality with PSVR. That being said, if you are still concerned, then just cancel and take a wait and see approach. Or, buy it and flip it for profit when it's sold out.
Lack of transparency...console confirmed??? Got it!!! This is a niche market that we are talking about. So, like people on this site, everybody who would matter can now see that a new PS iteration is coming. Neo and Scorpio are being treated as "high-end" products. The mass market won't care about 4k or teraflops. They just want to play what others are playing.
As for PS fans being disappointed, I'm sure there are some that already are after the Scorpio announcemen...
@lokirevamped...speak for yourself!!!😄
ZOE!!! Yes!!! 😊
