Though it was critically panned by the gaming media....Killzone was actually a good game. No...the controls weren't perfect....but the AI was excellent for that time period. Plus, the story was pretty interesting. It just wasn't HALO...which was held up by the media as the best FPS EVER!!!
I think that KZ2 was a difficult marketing project BECAUSE of it's more hardcore tilt. Playstation has always been a diverse console and offers so much more than just the "hardcore shooter" to it's audience. With the influx of new PS3 owners...and the broader appeal of a game like UC2, it shouldn't be too difficult to sell. The word is out to us...now Sony must convince the rest of the gaming world that it is truly worth the purchase!
So you guys could appreciate that one of my accomplishments would be landing on the carrier in TOP GUN!!! No saves...no nothing...just try....repeat mission...try again....repeat mission!!! I actually kept that game on for almost an entire 12 hrs. just to finally get it right. I think the NEW power struggle will not always be JUST exclusive games or DLC, but exclusive commercials. Think about it...we saw it with the early trailers of Madden being on PS3...followed by the 360...then we had Batman AA with the Joker exclusive commercials...now with MW2 we have the 360 commercials. You might want to discount just how much this counts...but to the average...casual...don't really do research kind of buyer...the commercial actually DOES make it look like it is ONLY on one...

In Japan....Sony just stopped any new shipments of PS3 to anybody for almost the entire month. By the middle of August...all of the supplies were completely dried up.

Just saw the commercial for MW2...with the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument seeing heavy damage. So...there WILL be some fighting on US soil. Guess it is meant to get the blood boiling a bit during the gameplay!!!
People always complain about the PSP's lack of an extra analog nub...this will give the devs a chance to add an extra set of controls for those that would choose to play with the DS3.
In Japan...it has been this way with technology forever. Size really does matter to the Japanese gaming market. Anytime something is shrunken in size...they just eat it up! This is regardless of whether or not things are improved...or it is just smaller!
The TRUE risk for Bungie would be to release a Non-HALO game. We all know that anything with the HALO tag will sell like crazy.
