Even back when in the Winning Eleven days in the previous generation...the running animations were kind of wonky. I think, in sports games in general, running is one of the things that devs struggle to get right. Either the sense of speed is off, or the animation just LOOKS funny. Sometimes it's a combination of BOTH.
While the PSP has had it's dry spells...for those that were day one impulse buyers especially. Anybody who jumped in after year 2 or 3 would have PLENTY of quality and lasting titles to get into. The ONLY reason that I took a break from my PSP was the fact that PS3 had several titles that were eating up my precious gaming time and I didn't have the time to play at work anymore!!!*L* That just seemed to be the en vogue excuse to USE for trading in the PSP or just not owning one.
The PSP was really never meant to be the ONLY console that a gamer has. Otherwise, it was meant for ON THE GO gaming. That means shorter burst gaming. Now, there have been several devs that have decided to forgo that idea and produce games that play like a full on console game. In GT PSP, I think that they decided to provide bite sized portions of the game. It WORKS for ON THE GO. But, if you want a COMPLETE (like PSONE and PS2 before it)game...with career...and FULL purchase of EVERY tuning ...
Is an example of what I was trying to say above. It is MUCH easier to break those kinds of things when it is someone that you KNOW and not a total stranger. Thanks for sharing.

"But to those who say that it shouldn't bother you, obviously needs a history lesson...that word is engulfed in hate and murder.."
I couldn't have said it better. There is NEVER a time where you are oversensitive to THAT word.
Bubbs up for BOTH of you!!!...
You assumed that by saying something...that I meant to YELL back. I only meant to be civil and simply state that this is something that I don't believe in or stand for. Sometimes a little civility and education will take you MUCH further than yelling at someone. As far as lowering to their level...well...I am grown enough to know when is too far. As they say...if someone watches you argue with a fool...sometimes it's hard to tell who is the fool.
The funny thing IS...it USED to be in the game...and a decent implementation at that. Then...well...as EA always does...it just disappeared. If you compare the the presentation and gameplay elements Madden is just now catching up with NFL2K5! 2k5 had full commentary on replays at halftime and the end of the game, it had "gang" tackling, the ability to break from tackles, and BETTER blocking AI on the run game than any game since. I purchased Madden this year for the first time in 2 ...
But...I would rather see the license be freed from exclusivity so that ANY developer could take advantage. 2K would be number one, but also those that are making Backbreaker. The competition MIGHT force EA's hand at actually KEEPING those gameplay tweaks that they add every year and make it the new focus of the game AND come up with something that actually ADVANCES the genre.
I don't see how this game cannot make a connection with the gamer. Just from the various scenarios I have seen, there is NO DOUBT that I have become HIGHLY interested in the overall stories. It is the minor interactions that will draw you in. Not the MAJOR decisions. (although in Quantic Dream's games sometimes the small things become MAJOR)When you start to micromanage the things that go on with a character...or you are placed in charge of keeping a character ALIVE...that has the tendency to...
I think that part of the reason that it was NOT the revolutionary game it was meant to be was that it was truly ahead of it's time. It was trying to do something at a time when the industry was not quite ready. I guess the question that looms is will the industry be ready for Heavy Rain!?!?
If you understand the ramifications of the decisions that you made in the first play. Then, you can make different choices. Remember some of the "QTE" are really just options. However, some of the options will have a lasting effect on the game. Not just for one chapter, but might shape the entire nature of a relationship, or shift when a crucial bit of information is delivered...if at all. Plus, each character has a COMPLETE story...however, they also intersect so I expect that it w...
You know...I completely understand your point. However, I also know that this isn't Quantic Dream's first attempt at this type of complex storytelling experience. They achieved greatness on their previous game Indigo Prophecy. So, I would say they have had several years to get it right. Just from the vids that I have seen...they hit a homerun with this one.
This is the double-edged sword of the Wii. It has been MARKETED and LAUDED as a casual game system. It has SOLD to a market of casual gamers. Nintendo has praised it's appeal to the casual (read: non-gamer) Unfortunately, they usually SUCK at this. Therefore, any third party developer is going to TRY to capitalize on THAT market. It is a shame for the hardcore minority that support and love the Wii...but that's why I called it a double-edged sword...cuz it cuts BOTH ways.
I just picked this little gem up for my PSP and I have to say that I am LOVING it so far. It is a throw back to the original GTA's that had the top down views. However, they have added NEW elements to bring it into today (with the fun mini games). I know that the camera angle and "lack of 3D" might turn off some of today's gamers that have been spoiled by Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, but I was SOLD on the franchise from the original offerings that had this perspective...
That is the key to Sony winning generation after generation. Although the races were never in question after 5 or 6 years in prior generations, this one will be closer (and IS). However, with the fact that Sony plans on supporting the PS3 for 10 years or longer...it is entirely possible that it can catch and surpass the Wii. NO console is totally future proof...but PS3 is probably in the BEST position to stave off the future for the longest. Wii has LONG legs in the game, outlasted it's "...
The future is ALWAYS bright...when you have tunnel vision. I don't doubt that the 360 is a great system. It obviously has legs to sell pretty well...but that is in North America. They have the mindshare (xbox is to video game system, what Playstation and Nintendo before it USED to be) in America. That being said...America is NOT the entire industry. Wii is KILLING in 2 of the MAJOR markets needed to be a success OVERALL...and PS3 is selling like gangbusters and slowly eroding the once GREAT g...
I agree with the above statement. I think that IT is the root of the "war" between the factions of 2K and EA. EA was ruthless in their attempts to get exclusivity agreements for EVERY popular sports franchise. They managed NFL, and NCAA, but luckily they weren't able to get NBA and MLB. Competition actually breeds good games. If you look at the strides that LIVE has made THIS year to finally compete with NBA2K you can see where the anger from the sports fans comes from. LIVE fans ar...
I THINK that is the most refreshing part of Uncharted 2.IMHO, it's the fact that it doesn't seem pre-fab in any way. No take this man...insert space suit...fight dreaded alien race...or...World War whatever is starting and YOU are the savior type shooters. This is Average Joe on HUGE adventure in places that most of us only DREAM about seeing....oh yeah...and STILL shooting GUNS!!!*L* I LOVE it both single player and multiplayer.
Thanx for that site. Never heard of it before.
That is probably the saddest and most sickening website that I have seen...yet somewhat educational. Almost 3000 ways to demean another person based purely off of ethnicity. What a wonderful world!
I would NEVER say that I would lose sleep over racial comments, slurs, or just incidents that happen online. However, it sometimes incenses me that there is such a passive approach to it. You know...just move on...get over...turn the other cheek...etc. Yeah...that's cool...and what usually happens both online and in real life. However, does it really attempt to deal with the problem? I am NOT suggesting that all of the social ills can be solved in a game of COD4, but just by voicing your disa...
I USED to think that SAME thing...and then I kind of put this place in perspective. If you think about going ANYWHERE in public...you will find people that you don't like....people that you wouldn't associate with...or people that are just obnoxious...well NG4 is a microcosm of the real world. However, you will also find an aggregation of people who put video gaming amongst their hobbies at Ng4. So, for me at least, the fanboys are a small price to pay for the collection of dedicated gamers a...
