but if this so called tech demo actually provides a framework for an excellent game...who knows. Madden isn't the same Madden that it was when it started. Nor was NFL2K the same game that was once on the Dreamcast. Everybody has to start somewhere. I, for one, just hope that the competition from this game will get the Madden devs to innovate and not stagnate! Competition is good for the industry and I think sports games probably get more from this competitive nature than any other genre. ...
The over-the-top title hints at Blitz style gameplay. However, it is actually striving to be closer to real football than the outrageous nature of Blitz. The BIG DEAL is that it is using the Euphoria physics engine to drive collisions. This means that every tackle, every collision, every block is rendered on the fly...no more canned animations. This brings variety to a sport where the interactions, at least in video game form, can get a bit mundane after playing several games.
Throw in a couple of dancing neon green lights and game vids and this could be a new customer loyalty commercial...kinda like Toyota!!!*LOL*
simply because so many 360 fanboys (no accusation to you) hold this 3 year warranty as if it were a prize! MS fixed everything! NO...they just reduced the complaints to a minimum. Fact is, that warranty will run out...then what? MS knows that 3 years is enough time to amass a nice library of games that you won't want to leave behind if you have these issues later. Great business move...not really customer service. I'm not trying to paint MS as some evil company. I just don't think...
got his YLOD on his launch day 60GB PS3 the day after Assassins Creed II dropped. He was just as heated as you. But, the alternative was not anymore appealing. Getting a 360, with it's issues, and replacing his entire library of games was just not feasible. So, he opted for a new Slim model.
I totally agree with the system seller statement. First, because I find it difficult to believe that people would spend $360+ for just ONE game. Second, because Sony offers such a wide variety of games that would split any decision toward one game. There ARE games that might influence someone to finally get a system. But, I guarantee that there are other games that factor in that decision as well. Then again...I forgot to factor in the kids and teens that just have to have the next...whatever...
The very same situation happened, although both were in my favor. I went to midnight launches where copies were handed out(pre-orders and instant sales) to the point of supplies being depleted. I asked them what will happen for those that pre-ordered and didn't attend the launch. I was told...they will have to wait for a shipment in a couple of days. I actually purchased a game when picking up a pre-order because it was going to be out of stock by the time I got back the next day. I don...
isn't just the multiplayer experience. The main storyline in single player alone is 20+ hours. The side quests can easily add another 10+ hours. Then, there is just the random stuff to do. They aren't side quests. They are things that somewhat level up your character...like hunting, treasure hunting, herb finding, etc. I spent over 3 hours tonight on the game, and only really did 2 missions. The rest was just exploring the land...which is pretty vast...and full of random encounters th...
While I understand your point about the "bite-sized" nature of classic/flash mini games, I would disagree that console gaming is just for "kid/teens with no worries...". I, for one, am a console gamer that is an adult, has responsibilities, a job (teacher/coach), and I still manage to get my gaming in. It would be nice to have the hours that I used to have to finish games. But, I simply just take my time. I get in 1-2 hours when I can. Being a "grown-up" is not p...
True...Sony could have opted to use DVD...but then the race would have been limited by storage medium. Using Blu-ray was a means to an end. The end being that Sony has now provided the groundwork for future proofing their console. If MS has to stick with DVD to remain backwards compatible, that will still keep the next Box stuck in the past (IMO). It's like saying...we know there is high speed internet, but we will stick with dial up because it is cheaper! The 30-40 million will be made u...
Obviously, in your haste to label me as a fanboy (check my history...if still available...I am FAR from that) you failed to understand my overriding point. Simply stated...I won't be forced to pay ANYTHING to play online. Simple as that. However, if I choose to partake in the free monthly PSN games, and whatever else Sony deems fair to offer, then I can pay. SPIN!?!? Where? I just highlighted the argument of VALUE. I never said that his argument was totally invalid...I simply think that t...
Was it just my imagination when Sony gave you a handheld that not only played games, but was a music player, and video player? Yeah...that had been done on a GBA!?! It's not only harsh, but way wrong to consider the PSP a high powered GBA. The problems that most had with it was that it wasn't quite as portable as people figured (little too big for pockets) and the perceived lack of games. Other than that, the PSP was a great handheld when it launched. The slick design (aside from lack...
nobody saw it!!!*LOL*
First off...I am NOT one of the so-called hypocrites! I could care less what other people do with their money. However, to try to say that this is a service JUST "to play online games" is simply incorrect. You DON'T have to pay for this to play online. In fact, the current structure of PSN will remain free. This is a PREMIUM service which people will decide FOR THEMSELVES whether it is worth the expenditure or not. If Sony offers a free PSN game monthly, whether it be a mini or ...
join this club!!!! Too many games...too little money! Wanna rob a bank!?!?*LOL* Gamestop looks like an EASY mark!!!*LOL*
Your comments are often right on time and concise! Bubs UP!!!
Modnation Racers is gonna be a summer title for me. Maybe in the middle of June. However, I am really excited for the game. It's just that I am broke after the last couple of months of buying everything...GOW3, HR, BFBC2, JC2, Yakuza 3, MAG, and RDR...plus Backbreakers and Tranformers are pre-ordered for June!!! Can't even afford to go see movies...but I guess I have enough entertainment at home!!!*LOL*
Exactly how do you like your crow???*LOL* j/k I don't think it will be $200 either. MS have enough to subsidize the cost with other profit streams (like XBLA). They need to get this into as many hands as possible to make it "successful". The only way this is possible is by keeping the costs effective for consumers. I don't expect it to be more than the Move packages just for competition's sake. Guess E3 will tell all.
It really depends on your play style. Much like the GTA franchise, you can make as much or as little trouble for yourself. The broadcaster spent 2 hours taking requests on what to do in the game. It was quite hilarious! He seemed to be pretty good, and about 25% completion, and he died multiple times. However, that could be because he had a bounty of almost $5000 and was hunted at almost every turn. Either way, I can't wait to find out!!!
The license was renewed to go with some Madden anniversary. So, once that season is over...the bidding will begin again. The big problem is that I don't think that any other dev has the deep pockets of EA...so I predict more Madden exclusivity. That is certainly not my wish...but it remains my prediction.
