Not true at ALL! It will be an entirely NEW experience. That's what people who have been "stuck" playing Madden don't understand. It gets stale after 5+ years of the same engine. Animations have become predictable. Legacy issues abound in Madden. Until there is an ENTIRE engine overhaul...it will be too similar. Of course, it is fun to play as your favorite NFL teams and players...but alas...that is the only draw. Ask yourself this...honestly...if Madden DIDN'T have the ...
If you want a visceral, physical experience. Try Backbreaker. It's not the prettiest, or best playing. But, the physics are insane. It is challenging because it has depth to the game play. Don't let anybody fool you into thinking that it is Blitz style arcade football. That is said because of the physical nature of the hits. They are not "over-the-top". They are physics driven, real-time collisions. If you can wrap your mind around the camera perspective, which is a game kil...
But not real time. Because all of their sports franchises are so old...if you have played them for over 5 years you see recycled, canned animations over and over. That being said, you are correct about the graphics. I think Madden still has graphics from 4 years ago. Tiger Woods did get some character graphics tweaks, but the courses still look pretty bland. FIFA and NHL seem to be their new darlings and they are really trying to take care of those.
He's biased....how do you justify the 0.173 difference? You didn't even play the vid did you? Oh yeah, you just play sound bites...that's right! *LOL* Classic N4G!!!
I would LOVE nothing more than for EA to relive the glory days of LIVE. However, I can't put faith in a product that has a proven next gen history of being a mess. Sure, they seem to have tweaked the controls somewhat. But, it still seems like the same animations that we have seen year in and year out. Now, I won't make this my final judgment (as this is extremely early), but EA is quickly running out of chances to be a real player in the basketball market. Plus, 2K needs the challeng...
Despite my feelings about Kotick, I still think that Activision as a whole does produce some fun games. Anybody that enjoys good music mixes owes themselves to at least check it out. Plus, it is dirt cheap at this point. As for boycotting Activision. I don't see how me punishing certain developers for their hard work does anything to advance the industry. Sure, the publisher Activision sucks at times, but I blame big business and NOT the people with good IP's and unfortunate luck to o...
with credit from Amazon. I have to say that I am enjoying a new football experience. I think that most reviewers have been spoiled, if possible, by Madden and 2K having year upon year to fine tune a football experience. No, Backbreaker is not perfect. There are some issues with rules, and fouls (damn you roughing the kicker). However, for a first effort from an English developer that had to learn football from the ground up...it's not bad. It has a LOT of promise. You will see things that...
I'll actually agree with that. Although, it might not be for all the right reasons (that remains to be seen). But, with the marketing and tv blitz that MS has put on for Natal, it will be hard for Sony to steal the thunder. At least for the less hardcore and media crowds. Still, I think that Sony must have some bombs to drop at E3!
He just hasn't quite learned what to do about it. It's like when you were 4 years old. Sure, most of us could probably make cereal or grab a cookie. But, come dinner time we turned to parents for a real meal. LeBron is still a relative youngster in the league. He is still learning and growing as a player. That means understanding that he CAN'T be the team. He needs to learn WHEN to take over and WHEN to defer to teammates. Plus, he just needs more post season experience. Kobe, on ...
Are you one of those people that fell for the New Coke or Pepsi Throwback sales pitch. Look you can put a new label on crap and call it a candy bar, but the smell of sh!t will hit you as soon as you unwrap it. Not calling NBA Live sh!t, but saying that a brand is only good for marketing. It's what is inside the package that matters. Until EA proves that they understand what basketball fans really want, they will remain stagnant in this genre. I hope that Elite is good, just to keep the 2k...
Michael Jordan was NOT being a punk @ss as you put it. He was setting his himself up as a brand! Lending his name and likeness wasn't the problem...it was the Jordan name (or brand) that was the issue. Jordan is the top earning NBA player of all time. But, most of his money didn't come from his contracts. It came from his business and endorsements. His line of shoes, athletic wear, and suits far out earned his contracts. It can be argued that he really wasn't paid for his true wor...
But, I managed to keep my expectations pretty tame for Backbreaker...and because of that I find it enjoyable and rewarding. Backbreaker is surely not for everyone. The camera is right on the field and your field of view will be hindered. However, I just think of it as the difference between third person shooters and first person shooters. Some might say that this perspective isn't the best way to play football. I would say this is a more realistic take because you are basically given the ...
Releasing a console at $600 was risky business. Especially, when another cheaper console had a lead. Now, the part about "no games" is just BS. No, it didn't have the same number of games as the console that had a year head start. But, there were 20-25 games available day one or within the first month of launch. Ultimately, though, the value of the $600 console has proven itself. PS3 gave Blu-ray, wifi, bluetooth compatibility, free online, etc. right out of the box. Add those p...
that Bron and Kobe are the best that our league has to offer now. They are both extremely talented and physically gifted. Kobe is a much smarter player than Bron, just by virtue of years played I'm sure. But, Bron is just a physical beast! Now, those that think that this league is faster and more competitive can actually thank MJ. He changed the game literally. Because the NBA wanted to see wide open offensive games, they put in the no hand checking rule. But, I will say that MJ had much ...
and further say that the name Soulja Boy and the word artist should NOT be used in the same sentence...unless the phrase IS NOT AN is added!!!
Actually, the core game play is pretty solid. It takes some getting used to if you have been playing video game football for a while. But, once the adjustment is made. The game opens up. You have to go into the game knowing that this is supposed to be realistic...in the sense that it is on the field. Thus, no commentator...camera angle is right down on the field, etc. Once you accept that, if you can, it's a pretty good game of football. Been playing for about 3-4 hours and I'm liking...
Home does have a purpose. It's real problem at the moment is that it is trying to serve many purposes at one time. It is loaded with spaces. It is loaded with advertisements, it's loaded with lots of extras to spend money on. BUT...it is just a bit disjointed. Load times aren't horrible, but could stand some improvement. Waiting lines have been eliminated.
I use Home as a long distance phone call for one of my friends. I see him online...message him to meet in home. Go to ...
I would like to see a dev team maybe go the route of Konami with PES. They secured individual licenses from the teams themselves and provided an extensive editor for the remainder of the leagues. I just wonder if there is an owner bold enough to step up and demand his/her right to license the team!?!? It would be costly for the dev, but a point might be proven to the NFL as a whole.
First, the fact that American Needle really only won the right to move along in it;'s pursuits is new to me. Second, the list of requirements that a plaintiff must show to make the case viable was rather interesting...
"(1) that the NFL clubs collectively exercise market power in a some relevant market related to video games, (2) that the NFL’s exclusive licensing practices overall are anti-competitive in this market, and (3) that as a result of the NFL’s exclusive licensing ...
does EA pay your for your blind loyalty? Really? Saying BFBC2 is a "horrible let down" is nuts! No...it didn't outsell MW2, but once again I've never booted up and played sales data. Why is it that two great franchises can't coexist without one having to be "the greatest" and the other sucking??? Most people will acknowledge that Madden is a good game of football. However, what blinded Maddenites fail to see is that it would be leaps and bounds better with some...
