BeaArthur has a point. Most people don't NEED a new, "slim" 360. However, they are attracted to the new look of the hardware and will be inclined to purchase one. Just as most people didn't need a new slim PS3. The PS3 sold a LOT due to the price drop that came with the hardware redesign. So, I can see some resistant gamers finally taking the plunge on it. It's all just re-marketing and re-branding corporate strategy at the end of the day.
I have been trying to find a way to describe it...and YOU hit the nail on the head with the fat girl and corset comment. No disrespect to the design, but it really is difficult to describe.
all of these models will be out within 6 months of each other!*LOL* I kid...a little...but this does look like a pretty cool concept!
type game as Blur. Blur is like adult styled cart racing. TM is like a 3rd person arena combat game (if Unreal or Quake were 3rd person) that basically used cars instead of character avatars. It's horribly addictive and absurdly fun! Not trying to jump all over you for your choice...more trying to give you some added info. To each his own...game on!!!
He left EA and went back to 2K because of his love for the creativity that he was allowed at 2K. I agree, 2K had some bugs...and I don't know what was up with the defensive switching AI this past year. But, it was infinitely more of a realistic slant on basketball. I was Live supporter for years...then 2K dropped on the PS2 and I haven't looked back...and I HAVE checked in (with demos) EVERY year. Live...oh I mean Elite...just has so much work to do to bring it into the next gen. EA, ...
That's pretty ballsy...to take the name of God as your organization. Guess, people will do anything! Anyway, the game does look great...in that minimalistic sort of way...plus I always had a soft spot for the song.
I see the resemblance to School House Rock. The art style is very similar, I guess. I was around for the original School House Rock....as well as the attempt to revive it (short lived, but some cool bands were invited). Gotta say that it was infinitely more educational than kid focused television today...except for maybe Sesame Street (which still uses clips from the 60's, 70's, and 80's).
On topic: Why are people so serious about an obvious attempt at satire. Sur...
It was the shock value of Nintendo actually having something worthwhile to show. I am not saying that Nintendo doesn't have games, but that they finally figured out how to bring it! I would be hard pressed to pick a clear winner between Sony and Nintendo because there were some megaton announcements (Portal 2 and Twisted Metal) in the Sony conference. But, I guess 3DS was enough to give Nintendo a slight edge.
But, if you weren't stunned by Portal 2 showing up...then you must be some sort of psychic. I agree that Nintendo did an excellent job at their presser. However, what was revealed that we didn't know. We knew there would be Zelda, Metroid, Mickey, 3DS, Mario something (always happens). Golden Eye, while nostalgic, might be too little too late. Kid Icarus was the megaton for Nintendo, IMO...which was equal to Twisted Metal...2 franchises that have been gone for far too long...that the ...
I just wish that they would concentrate on something new. Seriously, I have played most of their franchises to death. I am Mario'ed out! (I know sacrilege)Zelda is cool, at least they let that one breath a bit. I think Golden Eye is probably too little and WAY too late (remains to be seen). I AM excited for Kid Icarus because that has taken forever to become a reality. Ultimately, Nintendo thrives on nostalgia. I'm not hating on that fact, but I would like to see them step out of that...
It didn't seem like the mean spirited days of SNES VS. Genesis commercials. It was basically taking lighthearted jabs at the competition. It could have been worse. He could have not sugar coated the truth about the horrible MS event with jokes...now that would have been cruel!*L*
He is a familiar face. A lot of them will recognize him from his time on TV and in movies. (Role Model anyone? "BOOBIES!!!") Yet, he keeps that character and attitude that makes him so well liked. I think it was a great idea.
Sony has never really thrived on ONE game. It's not mascot driven, it's not single genre driven. It is a conglomerate of great games from just about every genre...that sell incredibly well. No...one game won't do Halo numbers...but what game does....oh yeah...Wii Fit!*LOL*
Vice President of Owning at a press event!!!
I watched a stream FULL of Xbox 360 diehards and the groups rating at the end was a 1.F_CK YOU!!! I know...it's a new rating system...but funny as hell. The point is...they were EXTREMELY disappointed at MS and it's new found want to be casual...since they have presented themselves as THE hardcore console to have.
I can't speak for everybody else. But, for me, multiplatform titles with the PS3 as the lead console is cool. Why? Because at least the devs will START with the correct code for the infrastructure of the PS3. No porting of 360 code to the PS3 and a decent allotment of time to maximize said code. Now, if perhaps, the game still sucks at least we know it was a development problem and not the fact that they just ran out of time to do a proper port. I don't care about "superiority&qu...
that the desired effect has already taken place...at least on one "journalist". I would hope that most journalists can't be swayed by a $300 gift of a new console. But, human nature pretty much denotes that some will be tempted...or even feel obliged to say some less harsh things about the conference, console, or games or grandiose statements like..."this by far is one of the biggest things to happen to gaming."
Between taking and iconic voice like Samuel L. Jackson or a gritty Compton rapper and using them in their element and using a marginal acting, hip-hop wannabe who's desperately trying to hit the snooze button on his 15 minutes of fame and placing him in a space war game. Not saying that it will make any difference in quality. But, it's obvious that this is just for publicity sake and nothing more. Still, I'll be interested to at least play the game.
American soccer has been behind other sports in the USA due to several things. One, it is not the nations sport. Two, for years it was always seen as a sport for kids. Why? There were not too many opportunities for kids to play passed high school. Three, the money and resources were not put into the infrastructure of the sport. Four, there was no domestic league. Now, however, many of those issues have been fixed...somewhat. They have pumped millions of dollars to grow soccer in the US. They ...
because I had confused it with the Agent game as well. However, and mostly surprisingly I didn't even recognize this as the game from a year ago. Visually, they have really upped the bar in comparison to the more cartoon-like version that they were previously going for. I did like some of the aspects of the game that they used to have (at least from the previous builds). But, I think that this aesthetic change is more palatable for the average gamer today. Either way, the fact that it is ...
