I think that's still somewhat of a failure from MS, though. They said things like "Check out First Look next-gen gameplay", so this was our first taste of what their new, pricey box will offer. They didn't really give us much gameplay, and not a lot of what was shown was particularly impressive for next-gen. It seems it would have been much smarter to show off the most graphically impressive stuff first, and then show off 3rd party/indie devs after.

For ga...

I wish they'd partner with Steam and get a Steam in-home streaming app on there. It'd be great to play some of my PC games portably (well, around the house lol) on the convenient form factor of the Switch, as opposed to either using a DS4+phone+clip or DS4 to my old Surface Pro. I don't use it a *ton*, but it'd still be nice.

I think you should cut Nintendo out of the picture entirely in regards to the controllers. I inadvertently did this when I purchased an 8-bitDo USB adapter so I could reuse my existing DualShock4s (and, to a lesser extent, my Wii U Pro controller), as opposed to buying the very expensive Pro controller. I also got the Hori Split Pad Pro for handheld play because I wanted better comfort, buttons, and analog sticks when not docked.

It's like $20 for the USB adapter and $5...

I'd be down for a repurchase if they released this at a standard HD/Remake price of $30-40. But it's Nintendo, and they keep pricing things like this at $60 and I just can't understand/stomach paying full price for these kinds of things. Even totally remade games like Shadow of the Colossus on PS4 was a $40 game, and that later hit $20. This game will never retail for $20. I mean, Xenoblade 2 (a 2.5 year old game) still costs $60 and it isn't even bundled with it's pricey ...

That headline really needs some quotation marks to denote a title lol. I was like: Danganronpa's creator died? That's sad. Wait, he PREDICTED his death!? There's...a video about it? This...no...let me reread this one more time. I got there, it just took a couple read throughs lol.

I really just don't get this game. I think it is very straightforward, and incredibly boring. I obviously don't think my opinion is the "right" opinion for everyone, but it is weird when you can't understand what others see in something. Normally I can dislike something and still manage to see where others are coming from. This game just feels like an on rails clicker or something. I really don't get it.

I think it depends on the order you play 'em in. I played 8 first and really loved it. Tried playing 7 and 9 later on, and I just couldn't get into them. It was the PS2 era by the time I tried 'em, but they never did it for me the way 8 did.

Likeness is protected. They've had to pay actors to use their likeness in videogames and such, and I believe a studio used James Dean's likeness in a movie via this kind of technique, but had to pay his "estate" (or whatever) a fee to be able to use him in the film. It certainly won't be a free for all.

And given that when you buy it on Epic, you'll just end up ultimately getting access through Uplay anyway lol. Happened when I bought The Division 2 for $5 during the December holiday sale.

At least it is a straight key redeem now, unlike a couple of older Steam games I own where both Uplay & Steam have to run for it to be authenticated - what a clusterfug.

If you look into it, Gamevice's controller doesn't seem similar enough to the Switch. It is a static device you take on and off - it is a shell for your device, not detachable controllers. If that counts, then Razer has them beat with the Razer Edge Windows gaming tablet they announced in January 2013.

That is a case that attaches to the tablet and has controllers on either side, far more like the Gamevice. And from what I can see, the first time Gamevice announced ...

I'll never understand the "mobile to Switch" tax. This is a nearly 6 year old mobile game that costs $5 on Android/iOS, but $14 on Switch. I understand the install base on different platforms is different, but if it mattered that much then XBO/PC/PS4 games would also all be priced differently.

I get that mobile gamers are far more price sensitive, but if you can afford to turn a profit at $5 - an already very high price in the realm of mobile games - then $14 ...

I've played it on PC, and I find it pretty dull. I'm surprised they likened it to a distilled Diablo-like experience, as I found nothing Diablo-like about it. There's also a ton of mouse-tracking and clicking that happens on PC, and I didn't see how they handled the conversion to a controller in that trailer.

I loved Moss too, but I'm not entirely sure where Uncharted fits into it. What is it about Moss that gives you Uncharted vibes?

It took me an extra read to get what they were saying, but basically just that while updates for SMM2 are done, SMM3 is probably in the works and will include more assets and such.

I'm sure he's right, and I think that's pretty crap for a game like this - $60 games are a necessity when you look at skyrocketing development costs, huge development teams, high quality art assets...even on its own system, how can you look at this and Odyssey/BotW and the former &...

I really wish that PC or console manufacturers could come up with some kind of universal purchasing registry or something - a way for you to either get access to a purchased game across platforms, or allow for discounts on a different platform if you owned it elsewhere first. I understand the complexity of that, and the problems with the 1st purchasing platform getting a bigger piece of the pie, but it would have to ultimately get more sales for everyone. I'd love to play some games on my...

I'm having a tough time figuring out what you mean by the animations looking "demonstrative". I'm not familiar with any usage of the word that really lines up, so I also did a quick definition check since I know words can have more meanings than I'm familiar with. But when I looked it up, I still didn't see anything that I felt fit. I'm not trying to catch you in a "gotcha!" or anything petty, just trying to understand the usage :-)

Just about every time I log into this site, I have to report and block a new account sending that damn message! One time I logged in and I had FOUR of the damn things!

Whoever runs this site needs to have a filter option for private messages, where they simply silently don't delivery any messages with terms or web addresses they add to a blacklist. It's a minor annoyance, but it is a growing one.

You are advocating the company be "responsible" - in this case, what you view as a moral responsibility - by removing "partial nudity" to protect the children. Now, this seems a bizarre request for an M rated game that includes murder, among other more mature themes, as the overlap for the market that will buy an overtly violent game for their children, but wouldn't want them to see *partial* nudity would have to be incredibly small. It seems to me that making that dec...

If people can't take things on a case-by-case basis, then they're going to end up leading a very boring gaming life (and likely a very boring real life driven by flawed logic, if that same process is used elsewhere). It's no wonder studios make such similar games leading to innovation/uniqueness is slowly dying out. When hot taeks like these are made without something even being given a chance - even when it is a title from an already established, beloved property - simply because...
