Been sitting in mine too, but I finally started playing it a few days ago.

I found the motorcycle controls kinda meh, but the game is pretty solid overall. There are some weird things I'm less keen on. Like the fact cars barely ever cough up "silencers", so I just end up buying them at camp which feels a little lame. I'd prefer being able to find and store gas as I find it - squirrel it away at camp, as a survivor would - but instead, you just have to find...

Their total library of games is much smaller, so that is going to play into it as well - less games, less people playing such a wide variety at once. Epic still needs to flesh out a lot of features for their launcher to be competitive in any way, but they do have tons of good deals (with occasional extra $10 off coupons) on top of the weekly free games. Even though my PC library is still predominantly on Steam, I'm happy enough with Epic for what it is at the moment.

Not story, so far as I can tell. They talk about "runs" through the dungeon, which make me think it'll be some kind of wave/rougelike typed deal. Apparently you can nab bounties and such to turn in so you can bring Hellraid's weapons into Dying Light. Kind of a cool idea, but yea, guess if it had more story they'd skip out on making this a $10 add-on and just make a smaller stand alone game.

It's crazy that EA put this game at $50. The remastered version launched for $20 on Steam - a couple weeks before the Switch - and it on sale for $5 right now. There's a lot of Switch games I find to be overpriced, but EA took the cake with this one.

How are people already thinking about GOTY nominations with half a year left to go, but more so than that...how can an unreleased game no one has yet to play actually be someones 1st contender for GOTY? I mean, odds are good it'll be a great game, but I feel like people get a little too carried away on the hype train sometimes lol.

Framerates on both are going to be almost entirely the same, especially on 3rd party games. But almost no one has a 120hz TV, and a small percentage might have 120hz monitors, but the odds of people on console wanting to hook up to a small monitor is likely extremely niche. You aren't going to get the highest fidelity games running at 120 fps, but some smaller ones probably will support it. But with the exceedingly small number of people who will have their X hooked up to a 120hz screen, ...

For what is effectively an internal demo made in 2008, it does look pretty good. When they heard WB wanted to go with a game "in universe", rather than about the movies, that must have been like a knife to the gut. I'm sure they thought this was their ticket into more serious games, at least giving them something to flex their talents on outside of just Lego games. Bit of a bummer.

Hopefully they get the chance to make something else soon - the demo was convi...

Glad to hear it! So, when did you get out of the institution?

Bit of a strange list, mainly since several games do have other similar games, but also because many of them aren't really "Nintendo" games - they are on Nintendo platforms, but are also on several other platforms.

- Evoland is on PC, Mobile, Mac & while it is a mixture of different styles of game, those are all paying homage to older styles of games. So it is kind of unique in how it progresses through the different "bit" eras, but the gameplay ...

Yeah, I'm torn. I really loved what they put out on PlayStation (I also really wanted an Order sequel), but they've also done some of the absolute best things in VR. VR does need more quality studios to pump out high-end experiences for the platform, so I'm at least glad there will be more of that coming from them. I'm a bit surprised Sony didn't grab them to do console & VR games for PS/PSVR, but Oculus will at least give them plenty of money to keep making great VR e...

Mobile gaming, in some instances, is already pretty legit...you just have to know what to look for and avoid most of the freemium garbage. The issue is that there's so much variety to cater to so many demographics (children, "casuals", word games, matching games, hardcore games, etc) that there's a ton of stuff to search through - discovery is even worse on mobile - and it means there's always going to be a contingent of "hardcore" gamers who will thumb their n...

This is not Apple being some benevolent overlord, protecting their customers. This is Apple removing what they feel is competition. From the article:
----
Apple rejected that version, they said, citing Section 4.7 of its app rules, which state that HTML5 games are allowed “as long as code distribution isn’t the main purpose of the app” and “the code is not offered in a store or store-like interface,” among other restrictions.

But the initial version of the...

@ChristianReggieWait You can also snag it on mobile for $3 if you don't want to shell out $10 for the Switch version. Obviously physical controls trump virtual ones, but the price and ease of a quick refund if you don't like it might be a good enough reason to try it there first.

Yet another comment section filled with people who didn't read the article. They aren't saying make an Uncharted with an obese main character. They are saying if you are going to include an obese character, just make them a regular, interesting character and not a one note stereotype. In fact, the article even mentions how a lot of obese characters are weirdly nimble - unrealistically so. They aren't using that as praise either. This is not exactly seeming to be all that controver...

So obese heroes means kids will want to be obese...that sounds dangerously close to "kids shoot video game characters, therefor they will think murdering is OK". I know we all don't believe the latter, so I'm a bit confused about the acceptance of the former.

So it is hard to disagree respectfully because "opinions"? I said you are obviously within your right to have your opinion, and it's 100% fine for that opinion to be that this game has a terrible story, so much so that it completely erases all the other positives the game may have. Completely valid. But you can respectfully share that sentiment and try to get people to understand your point of view without saying every review is "mindless" - that's just effectively...

Holy moly, the number of upvotes on this message that conflates this fluff piece about VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS to the actual, real life implications of people of a different skin color being actively treated differently and - sometimes - dying because of it...that depresses me. "A terrorist entity"? Wow. Things like looting have happened, but 99.9% of all the rest of the people & demonstrations have been peaceful protests. I don't think I've seen a much worse take than thi...

At least the skin is an interesting differentiator, but I am pretty worn out on open world/survival/base building kind of games. I might try the demo out, but if someone has given it a spin, could you give me a quick take on it? Is it like a Honey I Shrunk the Ark typed experience? Is it less crafty than something like that? Is it more objective oriented? This game might just not be for me, but I'm still kinda curious to hear how it turns out & how it differs from other games in the g...

Why is it so hard for some to disagree respectfully? You sound like someone who is in the "you can have your own opinion, so long as it matches mine" camp. You can not like this game, that's entirely fair. I've also greatly disliked games that have gotten universal acclaim (GTA IV and Undertale come to mind), but I just understand that it's one of those rare scenarios where I just don't get or enjoy what others do. Not that everyone else is wrong, or the reviewers ar...
