His article does state he thinks they should have set aside "x" number of sets for those who paid, and then opened it up to everyone else afterwards. But apparently they had some MKT mission that they said wouldn't be credited until the 29th, but people managed to claim the pin set on like the 21st, fully claiming all supplies well before the mission was stated to be credited. So it does sound like Nintendo messed some things up with this.
I ultimately find it...
That's a pretty disingenuous comparison. You can copy and paste from one thing to another. You can have a Word or Excel doc open on one screen (or split screen) and be reading information or watching a video to transcribe. Have Spotify open while you do anything else. There are things you can do on a PC where multiple apps can be open and you can use them at roughly the same time.
A game? You can't swap between multiple games and play them at the same time. Totally ...
There's a lot to love, do not get me wrong. At $5 (with occasional $1 buy-ins), it has been an incredible value on the PC side. It was always annoying (becoming tiresome) to see "coming to Game Pass!" for a game I'm interested in, but see it skips out on PC. I mean, Doom Eternal isn't coming to PC, but it is coming to "Android" (xCloud)? That seems insane.
When it was $5, you understand you are paying less for a somewhat "lesser" pr...
Depends on how many games you buy and if the console is your primary gaming device. I'm a primarily PC gamer, but am also a multiconsole player a well. I only own consoles for their hardware exclusives, so this gen I'm thinking it might be fine to go all digital - I can already wait for official sales on tentpole exclusives to hit $20-30, and that happens on digital and physical simultaneously - and with Sony, pretty predictably.
Now, if it was my primary gaming dev...
@Shaggy
I don't believe any PS4 games are truly "enhanced". If they have unlocked frame rates or dynamic resolution scaling, the PS5 will likely run those games at the highest resolution and frame rate allowed by the engine. So if it was a game released before the Pro, 1080p 60fps max. If released after the pro, probably 4k 60fps max. But if the games had hard target framerates and resolutions, then they will likely look and play identically as they would on a...
It's kind of funny. Sony already did this with the Vita, having an "Instant Game Collection". There, it made more sense since it was a way for you to build up a library of actual Vita games to entice you to buy the hardware, knowing you didn't have to immediately splash out money on games.
This time, they are doing it for the PS5, though they are doing PS4 games. Given these aren't really enhanced (aside from games that had dynamic resolution or unlock...
In the past, I would never have considered a digital only console. Mainly due to true ownership of a tangible good, and due to game pricing never getting as cheap (or as fast) as with retail copies. Games change so drastically after launch that what you get on the disc can barely resemble the game it actually becomes, so physical ownership is getting more questionable. But as a multiconsole/PC gamer - who primarily games on PC - saving $100 on the hardware is at least not an immediate "n...
1st a quick correction, Demon's Souls isn't going to be on PC - apparently that was "human error". You may have already seen that, but if not, there ya go.
But there are still going to be PS5 exclusives, and the cheapest of the 3000 series (that has been announced, at any rate) is $499 - the cost of the more expensive PS5. $400-500 for what the PS5 brings is still a great deal. PC will always beat a console if you go all out, but it always costs to get the...
Given this was an early access game, and thus effectively funded by PC/Steam players, this feels pretty scummy.
Metacritic tells me there are at least 1000 games with "monster" in the title (though some are multiple copies of multiplatform releases). I'm not exactly a fan of Ubisoft, but in this case? Monster Energy can get fucked. What a spurious lawsuit.
This just shows how broken our patent and law systems are. Who in their right effing mind is going to confuse a video game with an energy drink? The fact no other publisher, like Capcom for Monster Hunter, didn't ...
"it looks like a remaster made by a team of very few people"
That's what I was thinking, but one of the leads actually said that this has been in development for 2 1/2 years and by a team that has been, at times, up to 170 people! What the heck have they all been doing? lol
Sadly, they wouldn't put it on one cart. I'm sure, like most multi-game rereleases for Switchc, they'd have 1 game on a cart and then you'd have to download the other 2.
As a Switch owner, their lack of output would really kill any interest in me considering spending even more money on hardware. Perhaps a 1-2 punch of new hardware and closely releasing software might work, but I also can't help but think that if they chose to hold off software for that that they are burning their current customers, while also making people less inclined to purchase the new system with Nintendo's history of decent dry spells interspersed with a drip feed of worthwhile ...
It depends. I was one of the 12 people who bought a Wii U and bought all the games I was interested in for that. So that cut out a *huge* portion of the value of the Switch for me. They teased several games with title cards really early on when they needed to build hype, but still haven't even shown real trailers or nailed down release dates for them even now. If you don't like Pokemon or Smash, that eats into a lot of the value as well.
I can appreciate the hardwar...
The Wii U and Virtual Boy shift awkwardly in their seats.
Been keeping an eye on this update. They took a lot of the early feedback to heart and talked about a big update coming, which took quite a long time. I have had this installed on my PC waiting to get notified of an update so I could finally play it. Glad it's finally around the corner!
How's about focusing on getting it to work on iOS 12. There are plenty of games in Arcade that could run on older devices. Feels like an extra slap in the face since both of my iDevices (which, to be fair, are secondary devices) were both left to die on 12, which was an extra slap in the face after I was interested in checking out Arcade and finding out it was iOS 13 only. 'Twas lame.
Yeah, even after the 1st big gameplay session they showed off, my friends and I were talking about it I said "well...it kinda looks like a regular, good open world game". Like, not quite the second coming I think most were hyping it to be - and it certainly still might be - but it just kinda seems like it'll be a good time, just likely not a revolutionary one.
Yes, they really went out on a limb lol. This hotly anticipated game from an established, quality developer *might, maybe* be GOTY. It also maybe, might not be - who knows. It's kind of a nothing statement. "Shaping up to be a strong GOTY 2020 candidate" is another way to say what I assume they were going for, but actually imparts some meaning.
Why don't they come out and say it specifically? They have a next-gen console to sell, so they should say "All future Zenimax releases, including the previously announced Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield, will only be playable on Xbox/PC". The fact they are using this kind of massaged PR language to try to point us towards the fact things will be exclusive without outright saying it kind of tells me they are hedging their bets right now.
Perhaps they themselves d...
