It could make the reveal itself more exciting, but they are leaving a lot of people unsure what to believe with MS doing a full court press with their fairly constant drip feed of info releases. Xbox has higher numbers on paper for things like CPU & GPU, which makes it easy for those who look only to those numbers to determine Xbox is the superior machine. We know what it looks like, inside and out. We don't even know what the PS5 looks like. It creates a one sided conversation, and -...

Hell, they gave out Yooka Laylee and The Impossible Layer, a $30 game, two months after it released. They've given out other, smaller games, that were less than a year from launch as well: Anodyne 2, Ape Out, Horace, and Mutazione.

I count about 90 free games I've claimed to my account since they started. About 2/3rds I already owned on Steam, but 32 free games is pretty damn awesome - and a goodly number of them are games I'm actually interested in. They'v...

@Steven_seagull

I don't have to take that abuse from a washed up bird actor from the 80s! But also, I said "sounds like they have" and "as far as we can tell" in both statements, to clarify that I'm speaking from the position of only knowing what is heard from the outside - I obviously don't know what goes on inside.

I expect a retraction of your spurious name calling by this afternoon.

I agree, porkChop, but it sounds like the fact that they had such an insane budget ultimately allowed them to do the whole "you do what you want, move to whatever project you want, if you get bored, move on" kind of attitude that it sounds like they had there, and thus nothing got done because they didn't have to answer to anyone (flat hierarchy) or have to worry about hitting game releases to make their money. They are privately-owned with only employees owning stock, so they h...

They already have a license to print money, which I think is sort of the problem. Steam ended up providing them more money than they knew what to do with, and they focused on that platform to - as far as we can tell - the detriment of their creativity. Hopefully they have decided they can actually pursue both.

It could have helped their case to discuss some of these things going on in the background, if they wanted to dissuade the pubic of that notion. I mean, sure, they had their GaaS games out there, but they mostly got to a point and kind of lived there, they weren't being radically expanded upon or increased in scope.

And then to cap it off, after their long awaited return, they punted Artifakt out into the world...another card game that felt like it was chasing some tren...

"fake news"...the most hilarious turn of phrase, as it almost exclusively used by news sources who lie prolifically in attempts to describe other news sites.

I didn't even like it lol. I generally keep it quiet, though, because that seems a mighty unpopular opinion. At least there are threes of us who aren't a fan of it. Threes!

@BadELF - I mean, it's Animal Crossing...the thing is essentially weaponized cuteness. If there were a video game dictionary, AC would likely be next to the word cute. Seems like a completely apt word to describe just about anything in this game...well, aside from "one island" lol

Can't wait to get a chance to check this out, but I'm simply unable to justify new game purchases at the moment. Gotta be more mindful of spending (doubly so given the current state of things), and I've got a backlog of flat and VR games to keep me busy for basicallyyy...[does the maths]...ah yes, forever.

Hopefully I'll get a crack at it sooner than later, or at least maybe they might take pity and release a demo at some point so I can at least get a taste ...

That sounds incredibly awkward, and since it didn't say "NEW DMC" or anything, I don't know why you'd get immediately excited - fast enough that you would get excited before the word mobile was read, at any rate. Would you get super jazzed if the story was "Devil May Cry is a really good series"? Same amount of time to get excited and then let down it isn't something exciting lol.

I bet they will both have the same available storage in the end.

For example, my "500GB" XBO has a usable internal storage of 364.9 GBs, and the 1TB drive I put into my PS4 only has 861.4GBs usable. All drives have to have some amount overprovisioned, and since 825GBs is a completely non-standard number (and close to what my PS4 is), I'm assuming that's "actual" storage vs "potential" storage.

I know its a joke, but after what Sean/Hello Games went through I'm going to bet the damn game was finished a year ago and they've been patching out every single bug they could manage to find, and ensure it lives up to it's *very* modest standards/claims lol.

Painful lesson that both actions and words have seemed to indicate he and the studio surely learned from.

I'll be honest, I didn't think P5 was nearly perfect. I really enjoyed the opening hours, mainly as I found the motivation for taking down Kamoshida, but as the game wore on it really felt like the motivations were weaker and the repetition for battling was setting in too much. I

enjoyed the characters in 3 and 4 more, though I did enjoy the mechanics that allowed you to sort of grind through the easier battles faster - going back to the old games, those easy battles re...

I think Warface is particularly egregious in its blandness. "War" in videogames is almost a non-word due to its over-usage. "Face" is a pretty bland, random word we even casually chuck into throwaway jokes like "Boaty McBoatFace". I mean, Warface is white noise levels of static.

Almost anything else of AggressiveWordBodyPart naming scheme could have sounded better, while still being a terrible name: GunArm. BulletFist. KnifeSpine. HostileEye. A...

I was going to say something like "The writers at Forbes don't have bowel movements, instead they are uniquely able to defecate via their words. Sadly, it appears the plumbing is busted. Upon flushing, their waste ends up on a public forum for all to see - an embarrassment for all involved. Hopefully they can fix it soon." We're on the same page though lol.

I think this article is pretty much middle of the road fodder. Still, easy to assume any time they w...

It's a term that pretty much means the song is good. It kicks. I feel like you could essentially use it place of something like banger - that song is a real banger/that song slaps. I think there might be connotation about it being like a driving, bassy song - given how people "slap" bass guitars - but that might be me reading further into it.

I'm mostly defining this through the context I've heard it in, I've not heard it actually defined anywhere ...

Is that title going for some variant of Willy Wonka's "Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker"? If so, it needs a little workshopping lol.

As it stands, I actually don't use the JoyCons hardly at all these days.

I have an 8-Bitdo connector that will allow me to connect my DS4 via bluetooth to the console, so I can use my existing controller when on the TV/Projector. In handheld mode, I have the Split Pad Pro by Hori for handheld use. This is a roughly $60-70 extra cost, which is pretty absurd, but it takes the Joycons out of the equation entirely. I didn't buy these with the express purpose of Joycon i...

Especially for things like "Bloodstained", where it was clearly outlined in videos and messaging that they already had a publisher lined up and had most of the funding from them, but needed to use Kickstarter to show enough fan interest in order for them to actually put that money into the development. A similar thing for Shenmue 3, though it was not immediately clear what was going on with funding between Sony & Shibuya Productions.

I think you could argue th...
