I highly doubt that we'll see any significant 8k content for at least 4-5 years. We're not even there with 4k yet. The majority of last years "4k Blu-ray" movies aren't even native 4k yet. The once that are, are quite heavily compressed. Nobody even invented a physical medium for 8k movies to be viable yet and the digital infrastructure isn't there either. While 5g might solve the bandwidth problem to a degree but data caps will probably still make 8k streaming probl...
I've been impatiently awaiting it for months because I'll buy a new OLED TV this year. I'm so glad to see LG's 2019 TVs featuring HDMI 2.1. Variable refresh rate panels are potentially going to be a game changer for next gen games because they'll finally make unlocked framerates a viable option and give devs a way to compromise between 30fps high fidelity- and 60fps high performance targets.
That's great news but man that CES conference was bad. I wonder why they even decided to have a conference.
"The point is there may have been black people watching it and thinking 'oh, hey, they actually do allow black people in tv land. It may actually be worthwhile trying to go there myself.'"
So the default position is to assume that the whole industry is racist to begin with? People with that attitude won't get very far in life. While they are sitting and waiting for someone to prove their prejudice wrong, others who are passionate about acting are worki...
Some of those games look amazing. I unintentionally neglected indies last year because I've been focusing on catching up on my backlog. I've just picked up Dead Cells, Celeste, The Messenger and Gris so I'm planning to capitalise on the lack of new big releases in the first couple of weeks this month (probably gonna start out with dead cells as it's the most interesting of the bunch to me).
If I recall correctly they've got some licensing issues which lead to the game being delisted from all digital platforms. As far as I know you can't currently buy the game anywhere which is a shame because it's a pretty fun game.
It's weird that when the arcade edition came out the general view on the game changed form very negative to somewhat positive. The input lag was mostly fixed, the arcade mode was finally in and the character variety was really high so what's not to like?
The fight money system worked for a while and I managed to easily unlock all season 1, season 2 and half of the season 3 characters without spending additional money. With the release of the arcade edition they'...
From Software. Bloodborne is not only my favorite game of this gen it's also one of my favorite games of all time. Dark Souls 3 while not on the same level a Bloodborne is another great game. I just think that From Software is always doing a better job with new IPs as oppsoed to sequels which is why I'm so excited for Sekiro.
Yeah. I've recently checked my Bloodborne saves and they add up to over 400 hours (1 savefile, different character profiles). It says I've only got ~140 hours though.
Maybe it doesn't track the time when appearing offline because I use that feature quite a lot.
Shoutouts to Mike Patton as the Darkness. The dude is incredible. He should do more voice over work for games.
Oops somehow submitted an incomplete comment. What I wanted to say is basically what I said above as a reply to ack591: "It looks like Microsoft is slowly moving towards platform agnosticism. If next generation Playstation keeps outselling Xbox by a similar amount as it is this gen I wouldn't be too surprised if they start experimenting with going full multiplatform by publishing games on Playstation as well. I mean to a certain extent this is already happening with Minecraft and the...
Somehow Microsofts current trajectory and the way their higher ups are talking makes me think that MS is
It looks like Microsoft is slowly moving towards platform agnosticism. If next generation Playstation keeps outselling Xbox by a similar amount as it is this gen I wouldn't be too surprised if they start experimenting with going full multiplatform by publishing games on Playstation as well. I mean to a certain extent this is already happening with Minecraft and the Hellblade physical release.
Final Fantasy VIII. It was my first FF game. Loved everything about it.
According to opencritic the standard deviation is in the top 16% percent. In other words review scores are all over the place. Looking at the review scores on the left of this site it's clear that critics are not in agreement on this game at all: https://opencritic.com/game...
Well I'm generally interested. A 70s metascore has never deterred me from liking a game. I have to play the other 2 first though. Got them both installed on my PS4 but didn't get around to play them yet. If I like them I'll pick this up afterwards.
That's fine. I'm not trying to convince you. I was just debunking your argument that you have to be a masochist to enjoy these games. I don't want people that never tried these games to read your comment and think that the game is stressful by design or you have to grind your way through hordes of enemies every time you die to achieve progress.
1. It's 2018: So? Did I miss that everyone in the world has been forced to learn a catalogue of offensive terms in the beginning of 2018? And even if that was the case how does that impact somone who could've easily created that username back in 2006 and hasn't been able to change it.
2. The dude is old enough: I'm 27 and I've never heard that term in my life.
3. It's a nickname. Even if there is the slight possibility that the wo...
"I remember playing Dark Souls where I killed all the enemies at a section to reach the boss, after being killed by the boss, i had to repeat the whole section, killing the same enemies to reach the boss again... after that, I knew the game wasn't for me."
That's why you open up shortcuts, learn enemy patterns and memorize the level design. That's a huge part of what makes these games so rewarding. Going through a new area you are supposed to learn abo...
Agreed. It's still a question worth answering considering From Software's track record.
