I did my second playthrough (not NG+) with Demon Bell and it was a good challenge especially because I've gone for the Shura ending on my first playthrough so I had a lot of new bosses that I haven't fought on my first playthrough yet.
I thought Kuro's charm makes you take chip damage from every attack when blocking so that you are forced to get more perfect parries or dodge the attacks instead of just blocking normally. Also among your typical vitality and post...
I'm on my 4th playthrough (NG++ because I did 2 NG runs first) and by now the game feels relatively easy. I appreciate the fact that they've included the Demon Bell and Kuro's charm to increase the challenge. I used the bell on my second playthrough (NG) and haven't tried Kuro's charm yet. I'm gonna use both on my next playthrough and see how challenging it'll be.
The one thing I'm a little disappointed with is that the Dragonrot mechanic is ...
It's a beautiful game and I loved the soundtrack as well. Some puzzle elements were really interesting but unfortunately never required much thought to be solved. My major gripe is that you simply can not fail in this game. Some scenes are set up in a way to make you think that you are perfoming a close escape but those sequences play out the exact same way if you don't push a button at all.
When exactly did they narrow their playerbase? Their target audience has always been relatively narrow.
I for one prefer their focus on a distinct niche over the approach of catering to the largest amount of people possible that so many devs/publishers are choosing these days.
Whenever I hear something along the lines of: 'We are trying to make a game, that everyone can enjoy', I'm instantly starting to lose interest. These type of games often...
At this point I think it's save to assume that whenever a studio gets acqiured by EA, it's only a matter of time until it goes to shit.
The All-digital version of the Xbox One S gets rid of the one major advantage it has over the PS4, it's UHD Blu-ray drive. Also the article makes a lot of points that sound like we're talking about an all-digital vs. an all-physical console which is not the case. The standard version can do everything the all-digital version can do.
This again...
How about you stop defining what video games are all about for everyone? And how about you stop your pathetic attempt at imposing your view on everyone else? It's not like From Software needed some game journalists to tell them that their games are not targeting the biggest possible audience.
From Software's business model works because they are very good at prioritising features. Everything that doesn't directly benefit their cr...
I'm very confused by what this analyst is saying. First he implies a very high price for the CPU/GPU combo of $180-$220 and then he says that the PS5 could still have a retail price of $399. That makes absolutely no sense to me.
First of all the APU shouldn't cost Sony anywhere near that much. This is rather speculative on my side because silicon wafer prices are hard to find out but unless the die size of the chip is absolutely humongous or the 7nm wafer prices are...
Glad they're buffing Sabimaru against some enemies. I've tried it a lot throughout my playthroughs and never felt like it was doing much especially considering it keeps consuming spirit emblems every 2 hits.
The bull nerf is good. Despite being a cool looking enemy, the fight itself is one of the few boring ones in the game imo. Unless there is some way to fight him that makes the fight more interesting that I'm not aware of.

@RyanDJ: Why on earth would you buy big games digitally if it takes you a whole week to download 1 game?
@IRetrouk: I think you are misremembering. I preordered my PS3 for launch day in germany and the only model available was the 60GB. Also the first generation 20GB and 60GB, that released in Japan and I also think US, were the only hardware bc models (including a PS2 SoC). The 60GB version in europe only had emulation for PS2 and PS1 titles. As far as I know there never was a 20GB version without hardware bc. Maybe you are confusing it with the 80GB model that came out later.
Then why are you saying that 20GB would be absurd? You are proposing a more complicated and more expensive version of the same thing.
If you have 16GB of unified memory it'll be GDDR6 so a separate dedicated VRAM doesn't make any sense. Dedicated system RAM for the OS would probably be 4GB of DDR4 then, which would require a separate memory controller for the CPU, increasing the die size of the SoC and making it more expensive to produce. Alternatively they could g...
I agree. That's probably why they haven't announced any hard specs yet. The things they've announced so far aren't going to change but I could definitely see them waiting til the last moment to finalise clock speeds and the size of the memory pool.
And the relatively small memory pool of the PS4 Pro is one of it's main bottlenecks when it comes to 4k gaming. Also PS5's OS is almost certainly going to have a larger OS footprint unless you think that the OS complexity and multitasking capabilities aren't going to increase. But even if I grant you that the OS footprint will stay the same we'll still need a lot more RAM considering the requirements for games always rise when a new generation of consoles launch. Back in 2013 ...
The 20GB SKU only launched in Japan and the US ($499) and got discontinued 5 months after release. In europe the only SKU available at launch was the 60GB one at a price of 599€.
I don't see a situation where they'll need to take anywhere close to a $100 loss on each console unless they really want to keep the $400 price point and go for a really large memory pool or the die size of the SoC is unusually large.
Keep in mind that we're talking about a unified memory pool here. the link you posted shows about 16-20GB of allocated memory across system and VRAM for most games. Allocated memory is not an exact measurement and doesn't show you how much memory is in use at any given time though. You also have to subtract the OS footprint from that 20GB which depending on the multitasking capabilities of the PS5 can easily take up 4-6GB from that 20GB leaving you with 16-14GB for games. Considering ...
Considering it'll have an SSD and I want it to have 20GB of GDDR6 RAM, $500 would still be an appealing price to me. They won't go above that considering Shawn Layden recently referred to the price of the PS3 as Sony's "Icarus moment".
$400 would almost certainly mean a smaller memory pool which could be a mistake in the long run. 16GB should be the absolute bare minimum for a next gen console and I doubt they can get the price down to $400 even with 1...
Well as long as hardware keeps evolving there is no way to future-proof it indefinitely. The only thing we can hope for is that when it launches it features up to date tech (unlike the Jaguar cores of the PS4 CPU) and from the information we have right here it looks really promising in terms of the SoC and storage.
I'd argue that the PS4 Pro wasn't necessary and I personally never felt the urge to upgrade from my launch PS4 since I'm only gonna upgrade to a 4k T...
It's in the 52nd percentile of games according to opencritic's database. So it's pretty average in terms of review scores.
