That could be a real issue. That's always the danger with episodic games but I think Square Enix have identified that risk and are trying to communicate that each part of the full remake will be worth our money and time on it's own. That's probably one of the main reasons why Kitase said that they anticipate the game to ship on 2 blu-ray discs. In the parts they've shown us at least the quality is definitely high. The question now is if the quality standard is held throughout ...
The best thing about that conference was that they've had the EA sports block at the end of the conference. That way it was easy to ignore it. In theory I support that structure but in practice that only meant that they've seperated the games I'm not interested in from the other games I'm not interested in.
Well Tetsuya Nomura as director, Yoshinori Kitase as producer, Kazushige Nojima as writer and Nobuo Uematsu as composer is easily the strongest combination of key individuals we've had on an FF project for a long time and I'd argue it's pretty much as good as it ever was.
Also keep in mind that the Story and characters of FFVII already exist so they can focus on fleshing out the details instead of starting with a blank slate.
One of the bigges...
More often than not this type of content is thrown in last minute so chances are that it negatively impacts game balance in some way. And even if they are actually carefully balanced and you acquire them at deliberately chosen locations of the game (which I highly doubt) they'll probably be available for download at a later date anyway. Also it's not like FFVII needs preorder bonuses to sell well. The only thing this accomplishes is to help the publisher gauge the demand there will be...
Yeah dude. I've just finished watching the conference. FFVII Remake is definitely my highlight of E3. That Guard Scorpion fight was insane. Also that extended trailer man. They've nailed the presentation and the combat looks great.
It was nice to see Yoshinori Kitase on stage. He pointed out that the first part of the game will expand on the story of Midgar and will be a standalone game that they anticipate to ship on 2 Blu-ray discs. That actually sounds reassurin...
I wouldn't call those prices amazing. Looks like AMD is trying to raise those profit margins as long as the competition is being greedy. The performance/$ seems good enough to compete but it's certainly not aggressive enough to really make Nvidia sweat.
Alright. Hoping for a deep dive into how Navi's RDNA varies from GCN.
Man Watchdogs looked nice in that trailer.
Even more than a new Splinter Cell I want a proper new Prince of Persia game. Other than those two A new 3D mainline Rayman game would be great. Also a Myst reboot.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines
Never played the first one. This looked great though.
An UHD Blu-Ray discdrive costs MS around $30.It wouldn't really make much of a difference on the pricetag if that's the only difference between the SKUs.
@ravens52: That's what the buying spree of development studios is supposed to fix.
@Foxtrot: I agree. It think we'll start seing traditional Xbox exclusives appearing on Sony consoles when next gen launches.
What is probably a much more controversial opinion is that I think that Sony will start doing the same thing soon after. I think that we'll first see the end of full 2nd and 3rd party exclusives next gen and are already starting to see the...
I agree the conference was pretty weak but I don't think that Microsoft is very invested in traditional console competition at this point. They've made it very clear that they want to grow their ecosystem beyond their own console. Basically the end goal seems to be to put Xcloud and Xbox Live on everything. Xbox consoles will just be another way to play MS games and their main purpose will be to offer more entry points into the ecosystem.
Was it confirmed that it's still episodic at some point? I probably missed that then.
Need clarification on whether this is the full game or just episode 1. It doesn't say anything about episodes in the article or the trailer so I'm inclined to think that they're gonna release the game as a whole.
Yeah I'm sure Miyazaki will find a way around that problem though. He is extremely good at making the right adjustments to the game mechanics to make them work for the circumstances for each individual game.Think about how the regain system made you play more aggressively in Bloodborne or how they got rid of stamina for the posture meter in Sekiro to make you focus on precise parrying.
Being open world doesn't necessarily mean that there on't be confined areas ...
He said: "The combination of the SoC and the Solid State Drive are really what gives you a totally new experience."
SoC meaning system on a chip.

That Ghost Wire Tokyo game trailer looked amazing. Sadly no gameplay yet.
But that crowd is so distracting.
"The free to play game is free"
Crowd: OH MY GOOOOOD
"Elder Scrolls has dragons"
Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I doubt it'll take that long. They are already in the planning stages for part 2. They'll also build on top of the groundwork that has already been done for part 1. Remember that the game was announced 4 years ago when it was still in pre-production. Nomura didn't even know that he was supposed to be the director at that point and most of the work was being handled by Cyberconnect2 til 2017. Nomura has also been working on Kingdom Hearts 3 all this time so he couldn't complete...
