Well it certainly is my most anticipated game of the year. It might even be my most anticipated game of this console generation.
What confuses me are the people who are still confused about the game. Do you really need to know every game mechanic and every story detail 'before' buying the game? I've been intrigued by the setting and atmosphere of the game from the first trailer and after seeing the recent gameplay demonstration I'm also intrigued by the game...
He's clearly passionate about Playstation. I highly recommend checking the gamelab video of Mark Cerny interviewing Shawn about his history at Playstation: https://www.youtube.com/wat...
The old guard is leaving one by one. Hopefully Shuhei Yoshida and Mark Cerny aren't leaving anytime soon. But even they will be replaced at some point. One can only hope that the newer generations of people working at Sony understand the history of the company in the gaming industry.
Finding the cure was a major part of the story in TLOU. They've just decided to focus the plot on the characters' motivations instead. The writing is what made TLOU stand out. The Story is relatively simple and straight forward imo.
The RF/composite cables included with older consoles have lead to a lot of people never experiencing how sharp their games can actually look. This is especially tragic because a lot of those consoles actually had RGB output capabilities without the need for any mods.
@JackBNimble:
1. Just because a 30% cut is the industry standard, doesn't mean it's not bad. Consoles are a closed platform so there is no way for someone to just put their own launcher on there. On PC that's a different situation. Having to pay for basic online capabilities has always been ridiculous, but that's not really relevant to the topic, unless you're trying to suggest that steam is fine because worse examples exist, which would be illogical.
...
Yeah Man. I'd much rather have a monopoly as well. It's awesome to have a company take a 30% cut of games it neither developed nor funded. Clicking on a seperate icon to launch a different game seems like a chore (I still don't get how people did it before game launchers were a thing). Also competition sucks.
@yomfweeee: We should be careful with taking a single sentence too literally when reading a translated text. The quote is mentioned in the context of the unfolding of the story. To me it sounds more like he is trying to say, that you start out without any understanding of what the game really is. As you move through the world you'll discover the story and game mechanics piece by piece and at some point it all falls into place and you start to get an understanding of what is happening and ...
Probably because you haven't been paying attention. There is a lot of scepticism directed towards the game. A lot of articles I've seen recently have been prematurely dismissing the game.
It doesn't help that the quotes you've cited get taken out of context or the meaning of them gets lost in translation.
If you're unsure about the game, by all means wait for reviews, or try it out before buying it. I for one will get it asap because e...
I don't see any contradictions. He's saying that you won't get a world building introduction like the Star Wars opening crawl. You'll start out without any knowledge of what's going on. As you progress through the story you'll slowly uncover the mysteries of the game's world.
Agreed it looks amazing.
I also love how the "Punisher Mode" command turns into "Bubble Breath" when turned into a frog.
It really doesn't take much to create an outrage these days. Jaffe is just casually taking the piss out of Xbox for having an inferior first party lineup and somehow people are offended on behalf of a disabled child.
Don't buy into the hype. If you look into the physical and practical limitations of 8k resolution, it becomes clear that it's not worth it for the majority of use cases. Here are some key points:
1. Your visual acuity is the ultimate limit for how sharp an image can be. If you have 20/20 vision you can distinguish something that is one arcminute (1/60 of a degree) apart, for example a standard foorball (soccer) ball from ~775 meters (~850 yards). That means you can ...
Well Bioware weren't exactly unproven either and arguably more critically acclaimed than Crystal Dynamics. I might be in the minority here but in my opinion Crystal Dynamics' glory days are long gone. I personally didn't like the TR reboot and therefore didn't bother with the sequels. With that being said I haven't seen enough of the Avengers game yet, to even say whether I'm looking forward to it or not. I agree with Nolan North that the Avengers game looks amazing vi...
I disagree with both of those statements. God of War 4 is a great game but I'd put some of the classic games (2 and 3 in particular) above it.
The confusing part is that you can't immediately tell what someone is talking about, if it's not clarified in an additional signifier like [console] or [year]. Also search results are mixing up different games which makes it harder to find what you're looking for.
Try general searches for God of War like: Walkthroughs, speedruns, making of, concept art, wallpapers, credits or anything of that sort and see what comes up. You'll now have to sift through more i...
It's really puzzling to me how some people can be so selective when it comes to their privacy. If you care about your privacy it shouldn't really matter what country an app is coming from, when it saves your data on a server and doesn't specify how it is being used, you should avoid it.
Yep we had that one: https://n4g.com/news/227665...
And even this same opinion piece was submitted once before but failed: https://n4g.com/news/227694...
Power usage might be a challenge if they insist on staying under 250W for the whole system like they did with the PS4. It's to early to tell because I haven't seen any deep dives on Navi's power consumption in all the necessary conditions to make an educated guess but I've seen some promising undervolting results. If they go wider on DCUs (11 active DCUs/SE for a total of 22DCUs) they can lower the clock to 1500MHz and therefore drop the voltage significantly, while still stay...
So far Bloodborne is my GotG as well. If any game manages to dethrone it I think that Death Stranding, Final Fantasy VII remake, and Elden Ring are the most likely candidates for me. Less likely but still possible candidates are TLoU 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk 2077.
