I'm just gonna leave this here so everyone can judge for themselves how much weight your opinion has on the topic of this game:

I would've preferred a Sonic Mania type sequel (meaning closer to the original games). Besides the name and some of the characters it simply doesn't look like Streets of Rage to me. Not a fan of the artstyle, but that's the least of my worries. The gameplay seems to be completely combo-driven this time around. The originals are more about timing, spacing and ai manipulation. I'm not feeling the new characters either.
With that being said I can't judge th...
Maybe, just maybe, different people like different things and culture plays a role in that. Let's not pretend that the game didn't have a bunch of stellar reviews. Do they not count, because the acclaim wasn't universal?
For me personally it was a fantastic game. I'm not requiring anyone to agree with me on that, because I fully understand why some people may not like it. Gaming is a huge industry these days and people come at it from all possible angles. Un...
Kitase is a legend in my opinion. He directed some of my favorite games of all time. While I would've liked him to direct FFVII Remake, having Nomura take that role makes sense, considering the gameplay is more action oriented this time.
On the topic of FFXIII, Kitase and Toriyama tried to explain why it would be very hard and expensive to make a current gen (then PS3/Xbox 360) Final Fantasy game without compromising on certain aspects of the game compared to older titl...
I doubt that publishers would greenlight a project based on a vertical slice made in Dreams. Dreams is not aimed at professionals. It is aimed at creative people, that may be interested in game development, but have no prior experience in the industry.
It's a great first step, to get people interested in the process of game development, because it lowers the barrier to entry. For what it is, I'm extremely impressed how much freedom you have in creating what you wan...
David Cage doesn't like sequels.
@Xb1ps4:
Speaking of losing bets. I have an LG C9 and I absolutely don't want devs to waste resources on native 4k. To be fair though, I'm not advocating for 1080p either. Reconstruction from 1440p and higher will be sufficient in terms of resolution and will leave a lot more recources for graphical fidelity and frame rate.
I wouldn't look at resolution and frame rate as two unrelated issues. Both play a crucial role in how our brains perceive...
Because it is.
Remedy is a great studio, but I don't see them adding anything unique to Sony's 1st party studios. It would be doubling down on what they already do very well. Same goes for Ready at Dawn although I think that they might be more versatile than Remedy.
Housemarque is a wild card, now that they've stepped away from the arcade genre. Stormdivers looked bland. Who knows what they are cooking up right now.
Kojipro would be an excellent addition. It...
Since Insomniac owns the IP, and Sony owns Insomniac I don't see a reason why they wouldn't at least port Sunset Overdrive to PS4/PS5. With that being said a sequel to Sunset Overdrive is fairly low on my wishlist. Insomniac Games is a fairly big studio, but they can't work on everything simultaneously.
My wishlist would be ordered like this:
Resistence > new IP > Spider-Man > R&C > Sunset Overdrive
A new Resistance ga...
@Fraggle1987:
Sony's past statements about bc were obviously pr-talk. If you don't have a feature, you act like it's not important. You've started out by saying that they can't do it. Now you're questioning if they should do it.
And yes, they absolutely should. You're talking about a one time R&D investment that will allow them to sell PS3 games through the store. That alone will recuperate the R&D investment in no time...
"All i will say is theres a reason sony hasnt done it yet. Simple as that."
It's not as simple as that, not even close. There are perfectly understandable reasons why they haven't done it on the PS4. Emulating a different CPU architecture is not an efficient process. With PS4's Jaguar cores it would've required a lot more optimization to make it work at all. It simply would not have been feasible to pursue PS3 emulation, because the chances of ever...
I wonder why this myth gets repeated so much. All previous Playstation generations can technically work through emulation on the PS5. We already know that it'll have hardware-based backwards compatibility with PS4 games. PS1 and PS2 emulation is easily possible. The only notable R&D factor would be PS3 emulation.
If you consider the amount of money they would generate by selling PS3 games on the PS Store, it would be a bad business decision if they didn't invest...
Yeah it was my Goty 2018, but I have to admit I was a little disappointed by some aspects of the game. To be fair, I'm extremely nitpicky about God of War as it is one of my favorite franchises of all time. If they give us more enemy variety, better puzzles, improve the progression system and level design for the sequel it has the potential to be a masterpiece.
I also think that they should've focused on Midgard, Alfheim and Helheim in this game. The tease of Jö...
He clarified that he was basing his claims on the rumours that were going around: https://twitter.com/davidsc...
Agreed. Since Sony isn't at E3 they'll probably have to reveal the console before E3. A lot of multiplatform games will be shown there and it would be bad if devs couldn't talk freely about both platforms.
It would be a good idea to reveal it before GDC, otherwise a lot of details could leak before they're officially announced. That would require a reveal before the third week of March.
The hardware for both Xbox and PS5 is already set in ...

This game looks unbelievable. I never thought this project was possible to get right, but everything I've seen so far looks perfect. The old dream team is reunited and it looks like they've managed to revive the old spirit of Squaresoft. Just 10 weeks to go. Can't wait.
A midrange PC will do just fine. The CPU is the most crucial part in emulation. The RPCS3 people are doing great work in optimizing the emulation quality and efficiency. By the time they'll finish the emulator the system requirements won't be a problem for most people.
I was expecting 16-20GB. I've originally predicted 20GB for the PS5 mostly because I thought the GPU would require the bandwidth a 320-bit bus would deliver. With GDDR6 and NVME prices rising I'm not surprised to see MS settle for 16GB. Interesting to see that Microsoft have gone the 320-bit bus route with 16GB though. It's an interesting compromise that was surely chosen to keep the cost of the console down. Obviously I would've preferred to see a full 20GB with a uniform ban...
