Came here to say pretty much the same thing. People don't even realize how much of the graphical resources are spent on ever increasing resolutions. The good news is that we are so clearly approaching diminishing returns that 8k should have a much harder time convincing people of it's necessity.

When the resolution madness grinds to a halt we'll easily achieve a 60/120 fps paradigm instead of the 30/60 one we have right now and from that point most of the additi...

It would be if Sony first party titles, that are optimized to use the PS5s I/O capabilities to it's fullest potential were ported to the Xbox Series X. Games are designed with the lowest common denominator in mind which in terms of I/O will be the average gaming PC for a while. Next gen consoles having SSD tech as a standard will greatly benefit multiplatform games, but even when they stop supporting HDDs most of them will still support SATA SSDs not to mention PCIe 3.0 m.2 drives. The PS...

@Ratchet75: It's hard to recommend a TV just knowing the budget. It really depends what the main use case of the TV will be. If you mainly use it for gaming than a low display latency will take a high priority for example. I recommend looking at some of the buying guides from Rtings and HDTVTest on their sites. They also have great youtube channel where you can get a good overview on what's available in your price range and what freatures to look out for.

Have you ever seen a game run at 20fps? It would be immediately obvious. It's running at 30fps. I saw some very minor framepacing issues in some scenes, but you can't really judge framepacing from a youtube stream. You can however get a fairly good idea of the overall framerate. Here's how you can check it for yourself:

1. Set the youtube video to 60fps (resolution doesn't really matter, but compression is more aggressive at lower framerates so set it as hig...

Keep in mind that LG cut the bandwidth from 48Gbps to 40Gbps on the CX model to free up processing recources for AI features. Depending on your preferences that might point you towards getting the C9 over the CX. It'll also be cheaper. The C9 was the first fully compatible HDMI 2.1 4k TV available and it looks like it'll be more future proof than the successor. Glad I got mine at home and I can't wait to see Ghost of Tsushima on that OLED screen.

Nothing against it being an option, but I won't use it. I love Kurosawa movies, but the colors are such a big contributor to the beauty of the game there is no way I'm gonna play it in black and white.

The scale is insane. love the atmosphere. The stealth gameplay looks great. I hope there is a lot of cool secret stuff to find in the game world.

I'm 100% in already. Sucker Punch is one of my favorite studios. With that being said I'm definitely going to watch this, because I want to get more details about the gameplay-loop and how the combat works. I might not watch the whole thing if it gets too spoilery though.

Because shiny reflections and slightly oversaturated colors are easy ways to impress a lot of people.

This will probably be one of the early must-have titles. I loved the story of the first game, but I was also impressed how well they executed on the gameplay mechanics, considering it's a new IP and they had to build it from the ground up. There is a bunch of potential and room for improvement left and with the help of a much more powerful system I can't wait what Guerrilla games can do with that franchise. I'm thinking that riding flying machines as well as improving the melee co...

The trailer looked cool. It's the same team that made Layers of Fear and Blair Witch so I'm expecting a solid horror game. I wouldn't go so far to say it's 'the silent hill successor we have been waiting for' though.

Who thought it would be a good idea to call it a "first look at Xbox Series X gameplay"?

Elden Ring is my most anticipated game by far, but isn't this a next-gen focused showcase? As far as I know Elden Ring has only been announced for current gen so far.

@notachance: If it's simply a matter of people being bitter about a narrative decision, I definitely won't spoil myself and I frankly find it premature to write the game of because of some out of context story bits that might appear very differently when viewed in the context of the full game. I often find myself disagreeing with the general consensus on controversial narrative choices. When Jordan Vogt-Roberts asked Kojima for advice on the Metal Gear Solid Movie, Kojima said: "...

@notachance: That's all fine. I can't weigh in on this, because I haven't seen the spoilers. My question is more related to how this opinion relates to genericgamer01's advice of avoiding spoilers for people looking forward to the game. I assume he was looking forward to the game, then saw the spoilers and decided to cancel the preorder and probably not even buy the game at all.

If the content of the spoilers potentially ruins the story for a portion of fans...

I was very sceptical about 4, but from what I've played so far I'm pleasently surprised. I definitely need to play much more to be able to discuss it on the level of the older games, but I can already tell that some of my biggest fears with this game have not come true. It's definitely a different type of game though and I don't fully understand how you can make the argument that this feels more like a Streets of Rage game than Streets of Rage 3. Could you elaborate?

Comments like these might encourage people to look at the spoilers more, because they are planting seeds of doubt in the minds of those who are looking forward to the game. I'm also somewhat confused about the logical consistency of your comment. If you're convinced that the story ruins the game, would you rather be in a world where you weren't spoiled and find that out after spending $60 on it? I could ask more questions, but I'd rather understand your position first.

MGSV is pretty much a bigger and better version Peace Walker in my opinion. I understand the criticism of 5 when people talk about the story feeling incomplete and rushed at certain points, but that doesn't take away from the accomplishents of the game. Despite it's shortcomings it's easily a Top 10 game of this generation for me.

@cabbitwithscissors: Your reply is completely unrelated to anything I've said. I haven't made any assumptions about the effectiveness of Sony's cooling solution whatsoever. Maybe try to actually read what's been said instead of completely strawmanning my comment. I'm merely stating the obvious challenges Sony has to overcome to cool the PS5 efficiently.

@caddytrek: What's the purpose of your original comment then? It reads like you are creating a fal...
