@Unself: Can you explain how his/her comment is ignorant? As someone looking at it from the outside I don't see a reason why Sony as a global brand should be more concerned with american well being than it is with everyone elses.

When:
-The height of the syrian war in 2017 didn't lead to them delaying E3 or the Playstation Experience.
-The yellow west riots in France didn't seem to have an impact on Sony's initial PS5 marketing strategy. ...

To be honest R&C is fairly low on my personal list of hopes considering Insomniac. Spider-Man 2 is happening without a doubt, but I think it'll be a while before we see it. I'd prefer to see a new IP or a Resistance reboot personally.

As for Horizon 2, I'm 50/50 on whether we'll see it this Thursday. I could see it being a late 2021 or even 2022 game. If that's the case and Sony has enough to show from the launch window they might not want to reveal ...

It isn't that easy at all and I could list a lot of cases to refute your point, but paradoxically your own example does a good enough job at it. Sony didn't have that cencorship in place at some point in the past and now they do. If all you needed to do, to predict future behavior is look at past behavior, change would never occur.

Predicting the future is never 'easy', but the bare minimum you need to do is to identify current trends and extrapolate them. ...

And they've rightfully got a lot of backlash for those actions at the time. What truth is exposed by regurgitating the same old stories everybody has known for years? Microsoft still have a long way to go in certain areas, but if you can't see a difference between the company they were in 2013 and the company they are now you are not paying attention.

It's good to be critical of any coorporation, but if you can't even throw them a bone when they do something...

@JEECE: To be clear I personally don't think any of the Bethesda games are bad. I was just saying that in principle something could suck even if it hasn't been done better by anyone else, if it doesn't meet your internal standard.

And I like the idea of a huge AAA WRPG. I think the 1st person perspective is counterproductive for games that have melee combat, but I have bigger problems with Bethesda's game design philosophy regarding character progression, re...

You can think it sucks and also admit that it's not easy to do right at the same time. I've never played Skyrim, mainly because I was pretty disappointed wth Oblivion, but I realize that not many studios could even attempt to pull it off.

I liked parts of Fallout 4, but ultimately it was another disappointment. I think Cyberpunk has got the best shot at actually setting a new bar for these type of games, but even there I see the danger of it potentially being too am...

Kudos to MS for pushing backwards compatibility. The preservation of gaming history is very important and if it puts some pressure on Sony and possibly Nintendo down the line, to do better in that regard we all win. I wish more people would realize that simple fact and stop jumping on every opportunity to attack 'the other side'.

Yes they also need to have a good lineup of Next-gen titles. Everybody realizes that. That doesn't make backwards compatibility any le...

@Charal: People have different levels of expertise. Even on gaming forums I read some technically ignorant comments all the time. We might not need him to explain that to us, but that doesn't mean that nobody does.

And obviously he's trying to prop up the console they're launching in less than half a year. I don't know why anyone would be surprised that marketing is a big part of these type of interviews.

Personally, I'd prefer more ...

It's just a stupid rule if you have multiple well known insiders with a great trackrecords agreeing and it's still considered unreliable, because the insiders are protecting their sources.

With that being said, I think it would be unfair to venturebeat and bloomberg to approve the ign article now since the originals failed. We should probably just wait. Sony could announce this right after today's State of Play. I'd be surprised if this isn't officially...

Seems like it's happening June 3rd. We might get an official announcement after today's State of Play. I don't really know what to expect, but I''m hoping for a big blowout of games. Hoping for Demon's Souls remake, Horizon 2 and a Resistence reboot. If we see any of these I'm gonna be super happy. Hopefully this event will break the ice and we start getting more in depth information about everything next-gen. Kinda crazy to think that we're probably 5-6 months...

I assume you're talking about the UE5 demo. It was made to demonstrate the Nanite and Lumen systems of the engine along with the most imressive end segment where you see how fast I/O speeds unlock extraordinarily detailed environments even when traveling through them at high speeds. While the demo was successful in conveying those concepts I wouldn't say a video of it really did it justice, especially if you've only watched a compressed youtube version of it.

@Foxtrot: I could name examples of the contrary where I've heard very negative things and ended up liking something much more when I had seen it in context. I don't think think this sort of anecdotal evidence is going to lead us anywhere though.

And yes, we absolutely judge things all the time without seeing them through, but a personal estimation on the probability that I'll like something, is entierly different than a fully formed opinion, based on experiencin...

The outrage that was caused by the leak is partly premature and partly artificial. There are no legitimate opinions on the game out there, simply because nobody played the game yet. A leaked plot is not a leaked game, but haters won't let a situation like this go to waste. I'd be very surprised if we didn't see another Death Stranding situation where haters will flood platforms like metacritic with 0/10 reviews on release, without ever playing the game.

Unfortun...

Agreed it's a pretty weak list. There are much rarer things in the game which people could've missed even if they got the platinum trophy.

I've put more than 200 hours into the game and I've only noticed the animation of a lightning bolt spawning other people's cargo in my game world twice.

BTs can spontaneously spawn and drag down a vehicle. I've never understood whether it was a random event or if it happens when too many vehic...

I respectfully disagree. I don't think that politics in videogames are in and of itself a problem when presented in a thought-provoking and somewhat open-ended manner. It only becomes a problem when the writer presents the answer before he wrestled with the question. If the writer can make a compelling case for his political position after laying down a strong version of the opposition, it's at least an honest presentation of the writers views even if you don't agree with them per...

I'm currently playing FFVII Remake and while I haven't finished it yet, it's definitely gonna be hard to beat it. From all upcoming games I'm looking forward to Ghost of Tsushima and Elden Ring the most, although I kinda start doubting that Elden Ring comes out this year since we still haven't seen anything so far.

I don't mind some competitive discussions. People are passionate about these things so it's understandable. What drives me crazy are double standards and the inability of some people to criticize their own team. If you're a true fan you will call out bullshit when you see it, because you want the company behind your favorite console to be better. The simple fact fanboys don't understand is that those companies won't try hard if you give them your money no matter what.

Did he say what scene he was talking about? It doesn't seem to me like the clicker at 7:07 knows where Ellie is at all and most cover should actually protect you against echolocation fairly well.

The gameplay looks pretty good by the way. I wonder whether the dodge is just a button press that automatically determines the dodge for the given attack or whether it requires a directional input as well. I really like that they've pointed out that there are entire missabl...

Technically it depends on the ratio between the screensize and your viewing distance. In other words how much of your field of view is taken up by a frame with a given resolution. How much of a difference you'll see is obviously limited by your visual acuity. A person with 20/20 vision can distinctly identify an object that is taking up one arcminute (1/60°) at the center of the person's FOV. That translates to 64 degrees of the FOV before you can even begin to see a difference b...
