Replayed it recently. It's hard to compete with Nobuo Uematsu, but the composers of the XIII trilogy did an amazing job for sure.

"This deal is good for consumers I don’t get peoples logic who say it isn’t."

It shouldn't be that hard to understand. Industry consolidation always leads to less competition, not more. Microsoft's inability to compete with Sony on 1st party titles isn't due to a lack of studios. Even some of their flagship franchises come out underwhelming. There is obviously a problem in managing the studios they already have so I don't see how adding more is goi...

They're much more likely to use RDNA4 base and come out near the end of 2024 in my opinion. RDNA3 simply isn't a big enough leap in performance per watt to make them viable yet.

Overall RDNA3 is a letdown. AMD overpromised and underdelivered to a point where it's hard to understand what they were thinking when they took the stage to announce the RDNA3 cards 6 weeks ago.

I'm personally not a big fan of this current trend of game to movie/serial adaptations. Death Stranding was a prime example of gameplay enhancing the overarching themes of the story and I don't think it would've worked for me as a movie. I'm sure Kojima understands the strengths of each medium and will adapt his plan accordingly, but I guess I just don't see the point when games can already do everything movies can and much more on top of it.

The man has earned his independence. You don't get to demand anything. He's not here to make you happy.

Not a sequel I expected to see, but I'll take it. Supergiant always deliver.

Hope to see more soon, but I'm hyped. Ken is finally back.

Heck yeah. So happy to see this officially announced. Gonna rewatch this a lot over the weekend. Can't wait to see where Kojima takes this world next.

There's a good chance a major expansion gets announced at the game awards.

What do you mean, be specific? People have been talking about this for 2+ years. Where have you been? Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart already showed that new levels can be loaded in at real time. It shouldn't take much fantasy to connect the dots when you consider that we're talking about a game that has you travel to different mythological realms. Cory has previously talked about the PS4 hardware being a bottleneck to their initial vision of how they could use instant realm shifting f...

The disc in and of itself isn't important in terms of ownership. It's just the only way you can buy games on console that are DRM free. If you already have a drm free digital copy of the game there is no point in burning to a disc. At least not in regards to ownership concerns.

Obviously there is a huge difference between a validation key on disc and a full game, but both Horizon and Elden Ring had absolutely essential patches coming out before and after the games launched. I just wish console manufacturers would give us an option to make a local backup of game patches. They are encouraging people to jailbreak their consoles by not offering basic functionality like that.

The author answers his own question. As games got more expensive to make, publishers became more risk averse. Remakes of established classics are a relatively safe bet, especially if they're conservative remakes that don't change things up to much.

I am sympathetic to the authors point, because from a creative perspective there's a lot of gold to be mined from the games that didn't quite make it. With that said, good luck trying to find a publisher that will...

@ActualEngineer:

I am Batman and your comment sounds more like Feng Shui than engineering to me. But that may just be, because I've used both types of controllers and never had any issue using either configuration. To be fair, that may be because I'm super intelligent (being Batman and all) and my brain manages to adapt to the seemingly impossible task of moving one thumb in a slightly different position, without rendering my hands dysfunctional.

@dumahim & LightofDarkness

Obviously the point is to subvert expectations and make an otherwise predictable story intriguing again. Calling it fan fiction is nonsensical, considering the key personnel from the original is working on it. Having them work on a 1-to-1 Remake would've been a collossal waste of time and talent in my opinion. This is pretty much the best case scenario for many fans of the original, myself included.

VersusDMC: "Why not spend an extra 25-50k to get the original actor and not subject the fans to a new voice that some might find good enough but some might find is just not the same. "

When you start throwing around $25000-$50000 like that on a project with thin margins, you'll quickly turn a decently profitable game into a flop. And no, $25000-$50000 alone won't make that difference, but you have to consider the ripple effect this could have. What do you ...

"We believe in generations", except for next gen... and except for the PS1-PS3 generations. "Why would anybody play this?". So in essence, we believe in the PS4 generation. We believe in it so much, that we won't ever let it end. - Jim Ryan

My speculation:
The USB disc drive only makes sense if they're planning to go with a single disc-less standard SKU for the slim in my opinion. The Slim will at least require a 5nm node, which will probably bring the PS5 SoC down to ~210mm². This would still require a relatively large heatsink, because power density scaling isn't as favorable as it used to be on older node shrinks. Still it would allow them to save some volume/weight in addition to the savings they've...

Oberon is the codename of the PS5 SoC... They are probably gonna switch to TSMCs N6 node sooner or later, but they aren't going to use the PS5 chip in any Xbox.
