@D0nkeyboi: Because shadowdropping a full price AAA game would almost certainly result in a flop. Arguably some marketing campaigns go overboard, but having no marketing at all would obviously be a bad idea.
And fanboys wonder why the the missing 1st party presence of some studios at an event that only happens once in a blue moon is setting alarm bells ringing for some of us.
There's only so much credit you can take for the contributions of 3rd party publishers.
Peacewalker will probably be in volume 2 alongside MGS4. The thing that prevented MGS4 from being ported to modern platforms is the same thing that kept all the other game from being ported, Konami's disinterest in doing it. Now that they finally bring the franchise over it would he very strange to leave the great finale out.
With that said, the question mark seems to tease further content for volume 1. The PS Store page already mentioned MG1 and MG2 so it might refer t...
You shouldn't have to remind people of upcoming games with lists like the one you posted one day after a Playstation showcase. Nobody knows what's going on behind the curtain. We count on those games coming along, but a showcase like this doesn't exactly inspire confidence that everything is going according to plan.
They already have to split their resources between PS5 and PSVR2. Judging from the weak 1st party presence at the showcase, I don't think adding another platform is a good idea at the moment. It'll just dilute the games output. Not to mention that the handheld market is much more competetive these days.
@purple101: Well that's exactly my point. If those games are just around the corner, when are they planning to announce them if not at the Playstation showcase?
Who knows. Betting on Microsoft at the moment is like betting on a three-legged horse, but that's not a very high bar to clear.
They can't just shadowdrop major 1st party releases, so unless their 1st party pipeline is in serious trouble I'd expect them to announce at least a couple more games this year. The 1st party roadmap looks pretty empty after Spider-Man 2.
I'm just saying out of all the things that could potentially go wrong with this project, a change of VAs wouldn't top the charts for me. But yeah it is good news. Let's hope this trend continues.
Then you have more faith in Konami than I do. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to hear that they're keeping the voices, but there's so many other ways they could potentially ruin this remake. Hopefully more information about the project gets released in the upcoming days and weeks. Right now it's kinda hard to know what to expect.
I will never understand why publishers think a vague cg trailer is a good way to announce a new IP.
I don't think cg trailers should be a thing at this point at all, but at least it can work for something like MGS 3 remake, because simply knowing that it's real is somewhat exciting. With a new IP however, nobody knows what they're looking at.
One of the few surprises of the show. Looks great so far. Gonna keep an eye on this one.
Dragon's Dogma 2 is great. You can barely call it a Sony showcase though. If you cut the PS5 interlude animations and Jim Ryan's segments you could've told me that this was the Summer Games Fest show and I would've believed you.
They aren't doing E3 anymore so I don't how that's relevant. They just didn't do a good enough job of providing us with a roadmap for the next 12-18 months.
Snake eater is 3. It's already included in vol1. Vol.2 will probably be Peace Walker and 4 in my opinion.
The remake is completely separate from the collection.
Decent showcase, but I expected more, particularly from 1st party.
I'm surprised Death Stranding 2 wasn't there, but I guess Geoff made sure Kojima saved that one for SGF.
The vol 1 on the collection gives me hope that MGS4 might eventually be ported in a vol 2.
I'm gonna need to see actual gameplay for the remake before getting hyped for it though.
If I recall correctly FFVII Remake also didn't have a day 1 patch and only received a single patch months after release. Really happy to see this trend continue if it means more games launch in a better state. Hopefully western publishers also take note.
If I recall correctly some tech youtubers tested the rift sequence with a significantly slower m.2 SSD installed and it worked basically the same way, indicating that the maximum badwidth of the PS5 SSD is not required for it.
Since those sequences are linear, the assets can theoretically be preloaded if you have enough VRAM, so my best guess would be that this is another game that might not run very well on 8GB cards, especially during those transitions.
