Completely agree. Yes, if I were a suit or thinking ONLY with my head then the Wii U may not be a 'win', but I'm a gamer, I play with my head AND heart - and for the the Wii U has been the star (thus far), easy.
If I were grading I would go with Wii U, B+, PS4, D+, X1, C. After all, people can talk hardware all they like but it's actions which count, NOT words...something Sony are in quick need of remembering.

Yes, but look at how many of Sony's 'big hitters' in 2014 fell by the wayside...Driveclub, LBP4 and Watch Dogs in particular. My point is that meeting expectations is not Sony's strong suit - they still have some way to go before matching Nintendo in this area.
Wii U. Many of the exclusives due to launch in 2015 for either X1 or PS4 will fall way short of the mark, trust me. I see 2015 being Nintendo's year after a stellar 2014. The New 3DS as well as many, many more great Wii U games proving once again the nobody quite does it as well as Nintendo.

Nice feature, poor(ish) choice of games. I'll tell you, anybody who plays SM3DW's snow levels such as Snowball Park will find themselves transported to a time when Christmas was magical, fun and exciting...even for a broken down past it 'gamer' such as myself.

Viewtiful Joe 3 would be a peach. Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2 were a blast, the spin-off's less so - though not terrible. I'd love a true sequel to launch exclusively for the Wii U, make use of the Gamepad somehow. Eternal Darkness of course needs no mention, and a sequel I hear may be under way...*drool. Also, Wave Race (N64) was an inspiration, its sequel (Blue Storm) very good, but perhaps a step backwards from its predecessor. Now, can you imagine Wave Race U...that water, THAT water...
I cant agree with a lot of games on this list. Far, far more deserving entries - which I wont go into now. All I will say is Blast Corps U...I can dream, cant I?
Its true. The Wii U and PC had a wonderful 2014. I cant speak for the X1 since I don't own - and as such don't pass opinions, but I did buy a PS4 at launch. While people could argue Sony has had a good year I would say this, the Vita was a no show, and as for the PS4, its best games (which were very good) were all available on last gen tech covering 99.9% of the experience as the 'remastered' versions. I'm sure my PS4 will come good in the end but the truth is 2014 was NOT...
Destiny, Second Son? Come on! Across the entirety of 2014 and you chose these 2 games in your list of 5!? Not bad games (though flawed) by any stretch of the imagination, just that 2014 was better than that...just.
Cannot wait. Canvas Curse was for me one of the joys of last gen. Looks to me this will - while not innovating quite the same - be a breath of fresh air in an industry focused too much on chav fodder.

As somebody better, way, way better than me once said...they never lost it. Its Sony and Microsoft (particularly this gen) who need to focus and up their game, while there still is some kudos left to be gotten.
It shows how sad and lonely my life has become that due to nostalgia or whatever I feel a deep confusing need to purchase what is essentially some really cheap plastic, just because its Nintendo - who I have grown up with. The need deepens when I read a particular figure is being discontinued or rare, I start to feel a panic to buy - at a high price if need be. I need to get out more...
Sales do NOT mean a bad console or games, in fact quite the opposite - normally. I'll leave you with this...Dreamcast, GameCube. Two purely focused games consoles - no to little fluff - with a great library of polished, innovative and fun games. I can name Okami as one of thee games of last gen = sold like garbage. Sales, sales, sales, bloody suits.
