Unrelated - of sorts. More a comment on Nintendo as a whole appear to have a massive 2015.
Include Splatoon, Star Fox and Kirby, already - surprise games not included - Wii U's 2015 is looking strong...and let's not forget the New 3DS.
Resolution, animations and fps is the last of its problems. Its - an albeit 'classic' - game from a bygone era which has dated badly.
Just about to comment the same(ish). Yes, I expect user reviews to score highly, particularly from those who are old enough to have played the original on initial release, but from professional critics!? Played today it is little more than frustrating - unintentionally so, very, VERY badly signposted and archaic...funnily enough all the things fans of the series will list at plus points.
Remasters, reboots, re-releases, the last salvage of the PS4/XB1 owner, but mostly PS4 ow...
A lot of those ports weren't everything they were cracked up to be...most in fact. If its a choice - and it usually is - between the majority of 3rd party titles or Nintendo's 1st party exclusivity, well, I choose the latter, obviously.
I would say personally it is Nintendo winning the console 'war', because, lets be honest, neither Microsoft or Sony has enough killer exclusives (at present) OR - perhaps most importantly - the advantage of having TWO consoles ...
You heard? Let me set the record straight - from somebody who played both 1 & 2 to completion. Galaxy 2 - while not wowing in the same way of its predecessor (obviously) was at minimum equal to that of the original, at most? way, way better. As for cons...none exist. Boss fights too easy? Rubbish! Yes, none are Dark Souls hard but that would defeat the point. As with the best from Nintendo the learning curve flawless.
No, rather saving the princess - be it dressed in a tunic or overalls.
I'm mid 30's, let's just leave it at that...I remember playing Resident Evil (round a friend's) on initial release, playing - over a week - until completion. I must say, while impressed, I was never blown away by the series as a whole, though I do remember enjoying Code Veronica for my Dreamcast a good deal. Resident Evil 4 for me however was stellar as a standalone game, not sure about anything else regarding how it changed the course of the series.
GTA, GTA, GTA, that's all we hear. Yes, technically a great (even amazing) game. Playing however is a different matter. I tell you, while I do occasionally get lost in the splendour of it all, structurally it's near enough a relic. For me the entire series needs a bold rethink, hardly likely to happen while the chavs of this world continue to buy it in the millions.
I won't comment on the change in direction - for good or bad, all I will say is that Resident Evil 4 is not only one of the greatest games of all time, up there with Goldeneye and Mario 64, it is also the best Resident Evil game by far, easy.
While it's true - that Ocarina and Majoras Mask employed similar tactics during combat, I can't help but feel using Wii Motion Plus really elevated it, not only in combat but as a means of immersion during the entirety of the game. It just (to me) feels a shame that the controls demonstrated using Wii Motion Plus may be the first and last attempt in a Zelda title, I just felt they had so much more to offer.
What I had hoped for was that Skyward Swords near-perfect implementation of Wii Motion Plus was to make the cut, VERY disappointed to see it hasn't. Its strange, the controls were implemented so well - really gave the series a jolt in the arm, its hard to see why Nintendo has dropped it after just 1 game. I'll find it hard to go back to button-bashing...
Gamers are "biting the bullet" regarding the Wii U. Nintendo's console...'gamers' that is, NOT those who (figures show) want little more than the latest 6 monthly instalment of the most popular series.
I had an opportunity, didn't go for it. I'm a gamer, NOT a scalper. Personally I didn't want an XL New 3DS - missing the point of portability for me, also I didn't like the look of it in gold tied to 1 game alone - no matter how good (a game). I went for the 'regular' black New 3DS with those iconic SNES themed buttons.
Personally I'll be more interested in dipping into the 3DS's via my New 3DS's - back catalogue. Games I missed upon initial release due to not owning a 3DS at that point. Luigi's Mansion 2, A Link Between Worlds, Pokemon X & Y, Animal Crossing, etc, etc...I can't wait.
Not seen anybody describe Majora's Mask as dark, no? I don't know where you've been looking - or not, but for the last week or two thats all I've read. And as for 'hipsters', yes, they DO exist (unfortunately), they're bleeding everywhere these days.
Great games. The Wii and DS versions some of the most unappreciated last gen, I still own both. Honestly, if its not graphic intensive - pushing it to breaking point in many cases - or 'mature', the self-proclaimed 'hardcore' don't pay any attention, preferring as they do most of the chav fodder filling up the charts.
Thinking the EXACT same thing myself. Worse for PS4/XB1 owners, lack of Nintendo. Big, big loss - and they know it.

Sorry, "free games"? Since when did paying however much a month constitute free? I would think again, but once your PS+ account expires ALL said games are taken back. Also, plot, dialogue, 99.9% of the time this is an excuse to ape movies - badly! Some of the greatest videogames of all time - and I'm talking legendary status - offer little to no plot or dialogue.
Yes, I buy Blu Ray - a handful. No, I don't own certain Blu Ray in the past were DVD or VHS. No, I'm not a hypocrite. I didn't upgrade/buy a PS4 for this function, my old PS3 (now traded) allowed this feature and could be today, if I weren't sold the dream of a better PlayStation...that is great exclusive games.
