I wonder when you say "literary everyone I know" exactly how many people that is and strange all should share your opinion, just if you don't take my word for it then the perhaps the numerous amounts of reviews (critical) which scored the game 'perfect' marks. Not only did the controls work flawlessly 99.9% of the time they also brought a more considered approach to combat and puzzles - less button mashing and more thinking.

"Lack of services like PS+", really? See for me - and I bought a PS4 at launch, PS+ has felt little more than a tactical price hike. To allow (on my PS3) to play all the games I owned over the internet with friends or whoever for free, then to remove this option so that ONLY with the purchase of PS+ is this possible on the PS4, well, that to me was underhand. I got on perfectly well with my PS3 through the entirety of its lifespan without ever owning PS+, now with my PS4 I'm for...

Everywhere I look its XL, XL, XL. Well, after having the option to pre-order the XL myself - along with all the special edition variations of it, I decided to plump for the 'regular' New 3DS (black). The XL model (for me) defeats the point of a handheld...portability. Also I dont like the all too serious finish of the XL model, preferring the slightly more fun and punchy regular version, and those Famicom themed buttons...the cherry on the cake.

Blasphemy! Skyward Sword was a revelation, reason alone for buying a Wii, truly - particularly after the great game but not great Zelda, Twilight Princess, the first time I remember Nintendo treading water with the series. Actually I'm hugely disappointed not to see Zelda U not carrying on from Skyward Sword in the implementation of Motion Plus, for me a game changer and a much needed boost, akin to Resident Evil 4's release for the series. As for Wii releases for the Wii U I agree wi...

Honestly, hipsters. Ohh, it's so dark, so brooding...please, give it a rest. Suddenly as the 're-release is imminent people have not only just started calling this game (MM) better than Ocarina but best Zelda game in the series...well it's not - while still being amazing. I remember picking this up upon release for my N64 - blew me away as being a great sequel to Ocarina. I then remember playing it again as part of the bonus disc for my Gamecube, again, loved it. Seriously though,...

The reason I myself didn't do likewise. Fair play to those who do - to a point, but I don't want to be any part of it. For me, it keeps games and equipment out the hands of the real gamers. Videogames can be all things to all people, but for me its a pastime which should be shared and enjoyed, no more no less. After having the option yesterday to order any number of the New 3DS variations I decided to plump with the regular sized black version - those themed buttons nectar to an old F...

Online play is a must, even an option, surely?

Fair enough, but I was including them as a collective i.e the amount Microsoft must have spent to acquire the licence.

Legendary, genius, etc, etc, terms which get way overused these days. If Nintendo are Legendary - which they are (of course), do we put Naughty Dog in the same bracket...erm, NO! Good/solid games developer.

Yes, I remember picking up Ocarina (gold cartridge) for my N64 back in the day - even traded my standard edition in for it. I sold it since because I'm no troll, I think videogames are for playing, not for hoarding - least, not for too long. I also loved (and own/owned) Wind Waker's gold sleeve and disc, particularly when coupled with the wonderful bonus disc. I still have in my possession my Skyward Sword special edition with Wii Remote (gold.).

The 3DS XL edition of...

Agree with all the points made in this feature. My personal favourite however - as stated, Nintendo avoiding trends (right or wrong), bringing us what it always has, a machine built for and around games, great ones, ones unavailable any place else. For me Nintendo need to continue to keep releasing new hardware to make the games it wants, they games that keep me interested, NOT the usual chav fodder on rival consoles.

What about anything released by Rare on the 360 - such as Perfect Dark Zero or Nuts n Bolts (for example). Nintendo and Rare, a partnership made in heaven, Microsoft and Rare, like putting a straitjacket on a person of immense creativity and joy.

Seems a 2DS/3DS player for the Wii U - similar to the Gameboy player for the Gamecube - is the answer to this, obviously after Nintendo deem they have sold enough 3DS's. Personally I have no problem gaming on the upcoming New 3DS, regular or XL.

Personally I'm not interested in the Majora's Mask Limited Edition New 3DS - surprisingly, being a massive Nintendo and Zelda fan as I am. Since the Nintendo Direct yesterday and finding out what is due to launch I took my time weighing up all options. Majora's Mask - while being very, very good/great is not my favourite Zelda, it doesn't even enter my top 3, again, surprisingly. That and I don't like the idea of a gold 3DS, too premiership footballer/rapper. Same with the...

I cant agree, sorry. Yes, Uncharted (the original) got a lot right but in my opinion fell short - behind the lush exterior - simply being another run and gun shooter, and not a particularly great one. People forget the generic/monotonous nature of the gameplay because of what you stated was it pluses i.e the exterior. I'll no doubt be buying Uncharted 4 when it does land - God knows my PS4 is in dire need of some great exclusives, but I wont be surprised (on the same note) if ive long for...

Its a fair price if digital is your preferred choice - certainly a lot 'greener' than retail. However, retail versions of Driveclub are easy to find these days for between £20-25. Evolution Studios, must try harder...

Yes, it was just my opinion, but at the same time I think you'll find what I said fair and factual. Only U2 raised the bar for games of its type, both U1 and U3 were solid if predictable fare. Now, should you find what I said there fair and objectionable enough, that in no way makes the series legendary...even for the most blinkered Sony fan.

You kidding? The first was good, the second great, and the third, good. Two good games and a great one do NOT equal legendary...get some perspective. Zelda, Mario, Metroid and even Tomb Raider - though to a lesser extent...LEGEND.

"This is what the 3ds should have been". I could level that argument at most next gen systems. My PS4? In my opinion its what the PS3 should have been. My treasured Gamecube? Surely what the N64 should have been. See, the new 3ds is more equipped, more expansive with the ability to play more complex games - in theory...sound familiar?

This (the new 3ds) is the successor, suck it up. A successor to something doesnt necessarily need to add another number on the end, you know? Its a more powerful, technology advanced and simply tighter version of what preceded it, i.e a next gen version.
