Damn, I seriously love Nintendo. So, so much care and attention is poured into each of its staple IP's for us long time followers, it just doesn't get much better. This release of SM3DW has me as excited as way back in the day when I was bought for Christmas a SNES/Super Mario World bundle.

I think so, yes. Compare all the launch games arriving with the release of both Xbox One and PS4, now, none of the games arriving on said "new" systems has me half as excited/delirious as Super Mario 3D World for the Wii U. Of course the PS4/Xbox One will "win" this holiday in terms of sales, like previously stated, nothing breeds excitement but familiarity, but when did sales matter to those actually PLAYING the games.

I owned a Sega Dreamcast, commerci...

OH no. A Nintendo game, a non-"hardcore" game, a non-FPS/"mature" game. Throw this garbage in the bin. Only the self-proclaimed "hardcore" deserve every videogame released under the sun to be to their tastes. Please Nintendo, stop trying to innovate and publish games which appeal to a broader audience.

Sorry, but sarcasm is all I have left. I'm just sick of titles such as this scoring 60 degrees, where as COD, Assassins Creed and Halo sc...

Funny this. It appears all of a sudden the more factual information coming out of what the PS4 and Xbox One are currently capable of running, the less we are hearing comments regarding the Wii U being "underpowered". This may come back to bite me, but I seriously cannot wait until Watch Dogs launches on PS4, Xbox One AND Wii U. Only then will we see the supposed difference between particular consoles.

Ageed regarding people misunderstanding the Wii U. Firstly, don't try and tell me if GTAV was made possible on PS3/360 then the Wii U couldn't easily handle (possibly) having the "definitive" version, be it specs or the use of the Gamepad. The only issue as I see it is the limited storage space made available on Basic Wii U models. I personally would love to see GTAV on the Wii U for 2 reasons...

Firstly, I wonder how many of these supposed rational people, you know, the ones calling for somebody to be fired from their job for not awarding a particular game a "perfect" score, I wonder how many of them have actually PLAYED the game themselves. Secondly, having played GTA since its conception, I believe deducting it points for - if indeed that is what has been done - two dimensional characters, misogyny and over excessive shock tactics is perfectly reasonable. It would be ni...

Amazing the amount of knowledge and certainty of which people speak, having never actually PLAYED the game. I'm hoping GTAV can recapture some of that atmosphere and fun which came with playing San Andreas/Vice City, however...GTAV was an absolute snore-fest.

I've said it before (just up above) but I'll say it again...great and accurate post!

Perfect response and sums up my feelings exactly.

How so? Seriously, only the games Kingdom Hearts 3 and (possibly) Stars Wars Battlefront/Mirrors Edge 2 would I like to see make it to the Wii U, the rest are all bluff. Anyhow, I could give a list of games never to make it to PS4/Xbox One, ones in which I couldn't bare to miss, but nobody seems to talk about this, the other side of the spectrum.

Some amazing comments here already. I mean, I'm not a big supporter of EA, being as they are simply a business, but what more can people expect when purchasing the "latest" sports franchise in videogames. Hopefully, the squads are up to date, animations tweaked and added to (where necessary), and gameplay refined...that is all. You pay for the latest instalment if (like me) you value the authenticity and are passionate about the sport.

On the other side. I&#...

Less fans of videogames here posting, more suits and number monkeys. Sales (of course) dictate the future of a particular console, but I'm not in it for this reason. I am a fan of videogames, and as such, I am looking greatly forward to the steady stream of Wii U games available of the coming few months. I've a PS4 pre-ordered, that's for sure, but ONLY because I'm a sucker for new tech, that opening up a brand spanking new console. My head tells me - like the PS3 - it wil...

He says, after playing NOTHING on it to date. PS4 looks great on paper, if you believe a console is at its best when trying to mimic high-end PC's, however, lets see if all the talk and propaganda translates into games which justify the jump in technology.

So very, very true. People argue you cant compare the likes of Fifa, GTA, Forza and Halo (for example), the genres/styles differing so wildly, and while this is true, I still maintain...SMG2 laughs in the face of all pretenders to the throne. Truly a masterpiece.

"Games for the hardcore"? You mean, this self-proclaimed "hardcore" who see games not being allowed to diversify and innovate. Semi-realistic games involving violence and "mature" (see swearing) themes running through them. Truth is, games such as Gears, Halo, Mass Effect, God of War and Uncharted play more like games for adolescents than titles from Nintendo such as DK, Mario, Metroid, Zelda and Kirby.

Talk to me when either Sony or Microsoft...

Couldn't agree more. Dont get me wrong, I purchased Rayman Legends only last week (on initial release) for my Wii U, thus far I have been thoroughly enjoying my time spent in what appears a feature packed game. However, come talk to me when Rayman (any game in the series) has reached the stellar heights which Mario games of the past (and future, fingers crossed) have achieved. Rayman Legends feels like an evolution of the genre, where as so many Mario games have taken the genre to piec...

I don't agree this game wouldn't have sold equally well on the Wii U as the PS3/360. Rayman Legends is currently selling way more on the Wii U than it is on its "rival" consoles. Shame really, as some people have already pointed out, Soul Calibur 2 on the Wii U would have been the definitive edition, solely for the inclusion of Link.

I'm a massive Nintendo "fan boy", owning as I have every major Nintendo console (and most handhelds) at launch. I remember the original Giana Sisters from back in the day, playing as it did very solidly, if a tad unoriginal. The same cannot be said for Twisted Dreams however. Easily one of the best 2D "platformers" this gen, beaten only just - in my opinion - by Cave Story...though quite different experiences. Buy it and you wont be disappointed.

This is a great idea. Trade in my DSi towards this 2DS, keep my collection of DS games while at the same time adding 3DS games into the mix. Finally I'll get the chance to experience Luigi's Mansion 2, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Mario Kart 7 and New Leaf.
