Yeah, likewise. Games such as Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Tropical Freeze, Smash, Mario Kart 8, SM3DW, Captain Toad, W101 and Hyrule Warriors (for example) have been such disappointments. Neither of which 'blew me away'. My PS4 on the other hand. Drive Club, insert remaster here, insert mult-platform here, insert chav fodder here (for example). So, so much better. I've not once since picking my PS4 at launch at top RRP regretted it for one moment.
Oh, in case you can...
No, not due to being on the Wii U. Bayonetta - on initial release - sold terribly, even being available for 2 popular consoles. I - as I'm sure you are aware - could give you a list of great games which never made a dent, sale's wise.
Scored ONLY on graphics, perhaps. Even performance however is nothing to write home about - on PS4 and XB1 that is. Gameplay-wise it sounds from all accounts generic. Don't even be thinking for a second you can turn this game into the great white hope Sony/Microsoft fan boys.
Do these performance figures constitute a 'win' these days?
Performance this, performance that. An almost consistent 30fps. Colour me amazed. No mention yet of early reviews scoring said game average and at best above average. Of course, gameplay comes second when you can boast such scintillating performance on your chosen console.
I'm noticing from all the disagrees here in a Nintendo related post that its almost like either Sony or Microsoft fanboys are frequenting these posts JUST to disagree. As if.
Notice you got 4 disagrees for stating you are enjoying owning a Wii U - and games. I'm likewise. Its no troll comment to say since purchasing a PS4 at launch its been used more as a Blue Ray player/catch up box than as an actual games machine. That is no exaggeration. I'm sure the games will arrive, but at present...
Yes, because as Sony and Microsoft have proven, quantity equals quality, right?
This is the popular hipster comment of late. Sunshine is just a name. If SM3DW, Mario Kart 8 or Smash (for example) convince you to buy a Wii U, little else will. Also, I'm wondering - on the basis you own either...what game made you run out and buy a PS4 or XB1?
I see you scored many disagrees. Just for the record, I agree. Seems an affordable system with a good amount of quality games disagrees with people these days - ONLY of course if it goes under the Nintendo banner. It appears the self-proclaimed fanboys are yet to forgive Nintendo for not just making the Wii U another behemoth with a library of chav fodder at its disposal. Oh well, you can't please everybody.
Gaps!? How much time do some people have. Buying 1st party games alone for the Wii U last year I still struggled to find the time to delve properly into each. Outside work, family and other activities/hobbies...
I'm starting to think some people have more time on their hands than I can fathom.
@sprinterboy
So, waiting 3-4 months to watch a movie on a 58" tv - yeah, right - is better for than seeing a movie at release on (for example) an IMAX...ok.
Smart Phones v a dedicated games console...really!? Good luck with that. Next week, watching a movie at home v going to the cinema.
Yes, but you have to ask yourself...do you 'need' a particular game or console on day 1. So, so many great games are getting overlooked this way. Instead of paying full price for a game at launch I guarantee you could pick up an ever so slightly less recent game and be blown away all the more...less expectations.
I loved the Gamecube. Bought it at launch with Luigi's Mansion and Rouge Squadron II, both of which blew me away. During its lifespan I purchased numerous games for it. Many, many great games, some bona fide classics. However. I don't want to revisit old games I paid for and enjoy previously, no matter how good. Missed them on initial release because of some nearsighted belief Sony and Microsoft were better consoles? Tough. My opinion is to move forwards and upwards...something Ninten...
Nintendo games for Nintendo consoles. Sure, with enough tweaking, faffing about and planning you can play Wii games on a PC. However, that for me is like buying counterfeit goods. Its almost as good as the real thing but deep down you know it's a phoney and will never be as good as the original version.
Huh? I agree. I'm simply responding to the argument of wanting 'remake' this, 'remaster' that. I know fine well ports are either outsourced or giving to a smaller team on occasion. I think Nintendo have a fine balance of new titles vs remakes, easily the best of the bunch. Trust me, between my Wii U and PS4 its been a case of my Wii U for actual games and my PS4 has been mostly used as a Blue Ray player/set top box.
The 'limited edition' MM 3DS XL is for me the only con as I can see regarding said release. Gold, not a particularly creative design and only released in the XL model...pure chav fodder. The more disconcerting gamer such as myself has pre-ordered the 'standard' black model. The XL for me defeats the point of it being portable, and those SNES themed buttons, pure nostalgia.
Yes, the 3DS version looks arguably better, but for me the real highlight of this video is just how good the N64 version looks to this day. Proves once again - if proof be needed - that design and a great eye overcome 'power' any day of the week.
I hope you are kidding. "Kiddie side"? That is in comparison to both Sony and Microsoft's 'mature' side I suppose. Watch Dogs sold like rubbish on the Wii U because it was a gimped port of a terrible game which arrived late.
