Hell yes! This, this is why I love Nintendo. While the so-called 'hardcore' bleat on about sales, COD and majority, Nintendo goes and pulls this out its hat. Completely out of left-field. Not giving a hoot about the games 'we' want, instead giving us the games we need. Thank you Nintendo. Thank you for never following trends.
Tripe! Sorry, but your whole basis on keeping things 'relevant' is HD this, HD that, remake this, remaster that. Also, did you just say games such as Mario and other staple Nintendo figures need to be "laid to rest"!? Yeah, smart thinking...NOT. None of this matters anyhow because of one thing you said..." hardcore games". WTF are "hardcore games" by definition? Please, tell me. Otherwise stop talking superlatives.
Time will tell. Will it be more U2 than U3? I hope as much. Also, it (U4) is going to face some real competition this year with Microsoft securing exclusivity for the the Tomb Raider. Regarding the featured article...yes, plenty of games. However, some will in all likelihood fall below expectations, other will fare even worse, being average. I bought my PS4 at launch, but after the year just gone regarding games, its fair to say I'm approaching this year with trepidation.
Simply put, a masterpiece. Super Mario Kart, SMW, Mario 64, Ocarina, Resident Evil 4...this game (Prime) deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as these classics. Even more incredibly, taking an establish and much loved 2D title and moving it into a 3D space while losing nothing in transition. Man, what I would have given to see any Sony or Microsoft title perform the same feat...
Not 1 Nintendo game made the list here of 20...not 1. Talk about ignorance. It makes you wonder, it really does. In a decade, not 1 Nintendo game featured 1 stand out moment fitting for such a list...is that a (bad) joke? Makes you seriously question the state of the industry.
Me too...working.
Sadly, I don't see it selling too well. A bit too overwhelming for the casuals. COD, Assassins Creed, GTA, you can just jump straight in and then back out - 10 minute missions. Games such as this require more time and focus too really get the rewards - which if like it's predecessor are plentiful.
I concur.
That's it. Super Off Road.
This is going to be epic.
Possibly. Competition is hardly stiff however.
A missed opportunity. I remember playing the original down the local(ish) arcade. A good version of this coupled with motion controls/steering wheel accessory could have been great. Even a modern version similar to Excite Truck, only online/4 player enabled.
'Groundbreaking' doesn't grow on trees you know. How many more times must Nintendo do groundbreaking while 'rival' developers appear to get off light with tried and tested.
You have no idea how 180 degrees wrong you are...no idea.
Corruption was good - no doubt. For me however Prime is still the pick of the bunch. It's the atmosphere. Very reminiscent of Super Metroid.
You can't. Stick with it however. Anybody more used to a 'traditional' controller will find some teething. Trust me however, having played the Gamecube version, controlling the game now via motion controls is far more dynamic.
Yeah. Mario Kart 8, Smash, SM3DW, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends, etc, etc. None of which are fine. Destiny, Driveclub and the most recent 'remaster'...now THAT is fine. The only win for me is quantity. Sales and a shed load of games. I don't care if either is any good, just that I have more.
On a less sarcastic note, yes, Prime is about as good as gaming has ever reached.
Please, no more teasers...just bring the damn thing, please.
@RGB
I was listening to you until the point in which you stated the NGC was the moment you gave up on Nintendo. It appears like so many others here you focus only on the supposed negatives and not what was extremely positive. Honestly, the 'droughts' people keep continually banging on about. In between work, family, friends and outside activities, I struggle to be able to spend enough time on a game before a new one emerges. I hear people talking about owning 40 plus...
Far, far from it. I'll admit, to those weaned on the latest 6 monthly instalment of a popular selling franchise, yes, you may confuse this with sarcasm. However, it may interest you that games such as Assassins Creed, COD, etc, etc, don't float everyone's boat. I'm usually far more interested in being surprised - pleasantly, or waiting for a particular choice franchise taking its time to arrive so that when it does it feels fresh and exciting.
I bought a PS4 a...
