An incredible looking blockbuster of a game - if achieving near-realistic graphics is your only bag. The screenshots and videos leading up to release will no doubts wet the appetite of its chosen audience...however. I am completely confident in saying - like Ryse - this is another example of a 'game' quickly forgotten. Also, for all its emphasis on style instead of stubstance, it's not even native 1080p at 60fps - the holy frail surely for any graphics who're.
A Link to the Past, Metroid Trilogy, Mario Kart 8, Okami and Soul Calibur (DC), no, SMG2, no, SMW...argh! So impossible to pick just 5. My first 4 definitely stand however.
Yes, incredible 3rd party support, I agree. Doesn't necessarily mean the majority of these games won't be trite, shallow and unpolished. I know what to expect with Nintendo by now. Poor 3rd party support whilst waiting - what seems like an age - for the next big 1st party title to arrive. Thing is, I keep sticking with Nintendo because the benefits (for me) far outweigh the negatives. The positives outside of Nintendo is massive developer support...doesn't (in my experience) equal...
Why do I have a disagree? Seriously, what have I said which is disagreeable?
@SilentNegotiator
Yes, if by being a Nintendo 'fanboy' you mean I have enjoyed Nintendo efforts as a developer and hardware manufacturer more than 'rival' developers over the many years, then yes, please label me a fanboy. Seems enjoying Nintendo's efforts these days is akin to being a Christian during Roman times, well, sort of. Similar to not being a fan of GTA, Assassins Creed and COD is like denouncing God. Not every game (or console) which sells best...
I wholeheartedly agree. I don't know what you've said to warrant a disagree. It's true particularly regarding 'last gen' graphics. Each to his/her own tastes, but looking at this footage, I can't help being blown away. It's even true that (for me) a game (for example) such as Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) looks today far more aesthetically pleasing than say Dark Souls 2, again, for example.
But what will the chavs play...
Degrading women, violence and foul language is 'mature', right? 1 professional newspaper article won't stop GTA, its about 100 million chavs strong.
Its the latter, believe me.
That's because its not.
Its true. People talk like 3rd party like they were the holy grail of videogames. I would be surprised if the majority wouldn't swap all the 3rd party games under the sun for just half a dozen Nintendo exclusives. Its true, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Besides, I own a Wii U and modest PC. Over the last couple of years that had seen me able to play all my favourite Nintendo titles AND the majority of 3rd part titles...trust me, it is the Wii U/Nintendo games I keep r...
Any good reason why the Wii U (or New 3DS) has been excluded from this 'decision'? There is a strong argument for the Wii U having the best library of games at present - certainty exclusively. Nintendo have also a very strong 2015 by all accounts. I'm sorry, but these so-called articles are far too nearsighted.
It is, very. I'm only gutted its sequel won't be coming to the PC this year - if ever. Trust me, after having finally played Tomb Raider (2013) myself, Uncharted 4 has a lot to live up to this year.
So, a year later - plenty time to find your feet. Where have all the PS4/XB1 fanboys/Wii U/Nintendo haters disappeared? At least admit that both PS4 and XB1 are NOT offering performance generations ahead of the Wii U...and no ifs or buts please. Fact is, Nintendo and the Wii U are running 720p/1080p games running at 30/60fps. As it stands today both the PS4 and XB1 struggle with that. Each to his own but I just hope a little egg on face and reflection put things into perspective.
Why, why, why do people keep looking back, especially at a console which - much like the Dreamcast - nobody seemed to show enough interest in during its lifespan. I bought both the Gamecube and Dreamcast at launch - as well as the majority of games released on each. Both consoles were for me ideal. Neither trying to be an all in one entertainment system, but instead focus efforts on being solely a games machine. If you really treasure such a system and games then for goodness sake stop lookin...
Nintendo are perfect at this. Rarely is the hype bigger and better than the game itself. Sadly, the same cannot be said for 'rival' developers. X, Splatoon, Zelda U, etc, etc. You can bet your life any of which will not only fulfill (massive) expectations but surpass.
For me - particularly being a MASSIVE fan of the series, but even as an impartial, you will be hard pressed to find a better package all of 2015. The only 'downside' is that we have perhaps been spoiled by Nintendo in Full HD this gen, but that being said, the art direction here is so splendid and the game so rich, I can honestly say I never once paid this supposed shortcoming a slightest bit of notice. All games are nothing short of wonderful, but Prime, well that is simply one of th...
Agreed. Amiibo seem to be selling at an a!arming rate, the New 3DS - judging by the forums - seems to have a lot of people invested - myself included, and with the Wii U's AAA games - both on release and upcoming. I believe if there is any justice in the industry, Nintendo should be doing just fine, financially and creatively.
Xenoblade Chronicles X, Zelda U, Hotline Miami 2, Star Fox U, Rainbow Curse, Wooly World, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate...to name a few.
I look forward to Uncharted, not only because my PS4 (which I bought at launch) is in desperate need of a seriously good exclusive, but as well that I enjoyed previous Uncharted's - to varying degrees. However, I'm much, much more interested - from an objective point of view - to see the Uncharted series getting some really stiff competition this year in the form of Rise of the Tomb Raider. Its a fair comment to say I was gutted when I heard Microsoft secure exclusivity for this parti...
I have to admit, the PS4 fanboys quickly resorting to exclusives made me laugh. Anytime exclusives were mentioned as a huge plus in Nintendo's/Wii U's corner, you would get the PS4/XB1 fanboys saying 'but 3rd party, but better specs'. Its a fact, all consoles and PC builds have their strengths and weaknesses...so then, its a level playing field all taken into account.
