For somebody who "hates PS products so much", don't you find I have owned every PlayStation to date a bit inconsistent with that statement? I'm saying nothing about previous products, just that this (the PS4) is not delivering the goods.

As it stands today, I don't know if you could make a strong argument for Sony making another console. Sales aside - though I understand that is difficult for some people. Sony with its PS4 is offering very, very little to justify the high price tag, both console, games AND the annual subscription to play friends online. A modest(ish) PC could offer you 99.9% of multiplatform titles for cheaper AND better performance.

Sorry Magnum, this pains me to tell you (as your butler)... I'm about as far from sarcastic as is possible to get. Sony have fumbled the ball. History will not be kind to the PS4 unless 2015 can quickly offer some great exclusives for said console. For example. Say if you owned a Wii U and decent(ish) PC. What good reason could you give for owning a PS4 - as it stands today?

Even I'm amazed at how badly Sony have fumbled the ball this gen. Take away sales and what are you left with...poor exclusives (at best), a handful of solid multi-platform titles and - perhaps more importantly - hardware severely lacking. I own a PS4, bought at launch. For those Wii U/Nintendo trolls, how many of you can say the same thing...

Too true. Sony are very savvy. Their core audience are going to lap this up making them a bundle. I'm already primed for every other advert on TV being for said game, and few games are better suited to a 30 second spot. I'll stick with Nintendo thanks. Little to no advertising, sales or mult-platform games, just a dozen or so absolutely polished, playabale and brilliant gems. Let the shareholders and self-proclaimed 'hardcore' fight over numbers - both sales and reviews.

I almost feel for the self-proclaimed 'hard-core' at this point, almost. During the Wii U's infancy and the arrival of supposed 'next gen' machines it was all resolution this and graphics that. Morale of the story, be careful what you wish for...

Surely indication of quality is better celebrated than say sales or quantity. Celebrating sales should be left solely to the shareholders. Quantity? History has shown throw enough money at something people will blindly follow. No, I prefer to stick with Nintendo because quality of a product comes first before anything else - right or wrong.

I feel Xenoblade Chronicles really evolved the JRPG. Feels Final Fantasy has much still to learn in this regard. Graphics get (slightly) better, gameplay remains largely stuck in the 90's...and not in a good way.

That would be sweeeeet.

I like how people keep referring to said title as "game". Its about as much 'game' as watching a movie and occasionally having the chore of moving the character forward or interacting in a set-piece. Near-realistic graphics, check, gameplay, barely a sight of it. Don't think this an insular troll comment, since I picked up a PS4 at launch I'm desperate for a real reason why I did such a thing. Oh well, what else is on the horizon...

It won't come close, guaranteed. Hopefully all those rumours about a successor to Eternal Darkness are true - Wii U exclusive of course. That or either (or both) Fatal Frame Wii U can get localised some time soon. OR even perhaps a sequel to Zombie U. I'm just saying, for all I enjoy the Resident Evil name, plenty more options are available for those wanting their fix of survival horror.

With this and the 2 Zelda faceplates due to be released (here in the UK) at the end of the month, yes, my decision to purchase a 'regular' New 3DS looks to be getting better and better. Not that I ever really considered an XL model for too long, particularly not the Majora's Mask version...gold!?

That's fair enough, isn't it? A couple 'positive' reviews certainly cant mask the majority of reviews which have described said game as sorely lacking. No smoke without fire as it goes...

To be honest - yes, I would have loved to be given the option to play this game on my Wii U, or New 3DS even, but its far from the end of the world. Revelations was solid, no more, no less. The reality is Resident Evil 4 was a masterpiece, the games which have come after have been poor imitations at best. I'll give it a look on PC perhaps, if reviews are positive and after a price drop.

Who knows? Once gamers get their hands on said game, the so-called 'brutal' reviews could even turn out to be generous. Thing being, nobody barring critics have played it. Me personally? Based on my own tastes AND the numerous reviews, I wont be going within a mile of it. Money far, far better spent elsewhere - again, in my opinion.

Wii U get more hate than PS4 and XB1 owners COMBINED, fact. I always say I wouldn't mind, but I just know 99.9% of those who hate on the Wii U (and games) don't own said system or have played said games. That is when its just mindless hating. I at present own a Wii U, New 3DS - just taken delivery, PC and PS4. I comment on all those mentioned but not/never on the XB1...why? cause I only know about XB1 what I read and see, and as we know, that is only half the story, if that.

Ouch! I'll take this review with a pinch of salt - particularly since remembering said sites review of Skyward Sword..."troublesome controls, predictable formula", WTF!? Still however, I'm not best excited now, if truth be told. I'll still be buying said game - being a huge Nintendo fan.

Edit: just checked a few more reviews just in. Each sound a hell of a lot more positive with their comments.

Not a great list, but still, a lot of great memories here. Metroid Trilogy, check, SMG2, check. Next for me would be Skyward Sword, a real epic Zelda adventure, one of the top 5 games in the franchise, easy - in my opinion.

Go figure.

I'm loving that Nintendo are releasing a lot of the rarer Wii games for the Wii U via eShop. Puts games back in the hands of the gamers and out of the tight gollum like grip of those scalpers.
