Nintendo (for me) is the only videogame developer with nothing left to prove. You may not like their games, but no other developer to my knowledge is yet to get near Nintendo in terms of innovation, game design, polish and gameplay. It amazes me that Sony and Microsofts tame efforts this gen appear to go unnoticed - for the most part, while Nintendo is constantly scrutinised for what it might get wrong while how much its doing right brushed to one side.
Yes, Battle Mode has been neutered, but for me - EASILY the most important factor of the matter, Mario Kart 8 is arguably the best game of this gen and (for me) finally surpasses the superb SMK.
Disappointed (slightly) regarding the cut scenes being too long - something which for me has killed good games in the past, however, this is the opinion of one publication.
Superb. However, it may have been even better if the console itself was representative of Splatoon, like paint marks all over it for example.
I do think its important to highlight want WONT be included in Splatoon as for many these features are an important factor. However, I also would like to highlight what WILL be included in said game, because for me personally, thus games positives FAR outweigh its negatives.
Shame, because if you actually owned a Wii U (or 3DS) you would be getting 'big things' in terms of its library of games.
Obviously you haven't played Mario Kart 8.
Personally, I prefer games such as (for example) Mario 64 - regarding difficulty in games. A game anybody can pick up and have fun with, even complete a good few levels, but its only the more 'experienced' player which can find the secrets and complete the game in its entirety. Even games such as Okami (for example). A game in which you can get fairly far into the adventure without much problem, but its only halfway in you need that dedication and experience to get to the end. I appre...
Honestly, which ever fits best. Many times a fully fledged a sequel is what's required, but in many games episodic content is a better fit.
Yes, I do. I also owned a PS, 2 and 3 previous. Anybody who feels free to comment on the Wii U without owning one, please step forward...
Own a Wii U? I hope so, otherwise what you just said is based on nothing but hearsay.
Fight! X didnt receive 'perfect' scores...game cancelled, Wii U cancelled, Nintendo cancelled, videogames in general cancelled. Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition received 9's across the board. Must be one of the finest games this gen, right? Fact is - as stated previously, scores are nigh on impossible to determine without the actual review. That AND reviews are opinion pieces. That AND look at this publications past history with reviews. That AND - perhaps most impo...
I own a Wii U and very modest PC in which Alan Wake runs flawlessly. A good game, not a great game, but worth owning/playing just for the flashlight/attack mechanic. My Wii U on the other hand has far bigger fish to fry...
To the back teeth! In reality these updates aren't probably nearly as frequent as they appear, they just always feel like it. I own a Wii U and after the early 'big' update it has ran and performed flawlessly, my PS4 on the other hand has - even after numerous updates - continued to feel archaic.
Why always a 'new' sequel? Episodic content please. I own Alan Wake for my modest PC - which runs and looks very nice, so, why not just instead give us more variations based on the already stellar mechanics via dlc? An sequel doesn't always need to be built from the ground up these days.
Surely it was to be expected. Have any of their games - no matter how great - ever really sold in huge numbers? Look back through history. It has NOTHING to do with which console each game is available on, rather their games are (mostly) fairly niche - particularly compared with what sells in big numbers. Can we now focus on the quality of the game...
I love how the focus for the Nintendo Wii U ALWAYS focuses sales. Yes, sales is an issue, but for many people its just a way to shift the focus away from the games, both the quality and variety. Focus on that and the Wii U is arguably the best console of the 3. As for the argument the Wii U misses some of the most 'important' games, its just as easy to argue likewise - both PS4 and XB1 miss some of the best games of this gen, made exclusively for Nintendo/
Yes, close. However, the list of great games to sell in low numbers on consoles with a far larger install base is long. I mean, the original Bayonetta (for example) sold poorly despite being available for both PS3 AND 360, and the less said about Vanquish's sales the better/ Also, Okami anybody? Like I say, the list is near endless.
Besides, the important stat here is Bayonetta 2 was made, it is arguably the finest example of the genre to date, AND...not being designed fo...
Likewise. Still not nearly the optimum viewing experience - that is via scarf (official) on a good CRT set.
How? Most people would agree exclusivity is Nintendo's biggest strength. Yes, both Sony and Microsoft score some good games, but surely most of these are multiplatform.
