I cant comment on that, having not played ZTF...not that not playing a game stops the majority of trolls around here. I'm talking Skyward Sword, NOT Tri Force Heroes, two COMPLETELY different games.
Also remember, Skyward Sword a 7.5. Edge - and other well respected publications/websites awarding it 'perfect' scores, it well deserving it. I know Gamespot have always been sightly trollish, but for me, Skyward Sword not getting its full due was the straw that broke the camels back.
Happy to see Edge scoring Fatal Frame an 8. I always lean towards Edge's opinion, particularly after it scored Skyward Sword a 10 back in the day, not that long ago. Far removed from Gamespot's trollish reviews.
Yes, 'LOL' at a game which has been praised both critically and enjoyed by those who own/play it immensely - such as myself. Really, REALLY pisses me off people that troll games who either dont own or show no interest in. I've played all Souls games, hate them, but I dont troll them...OBVIOUSLY they are enjoyed by many.
Its genuinely brilliant - and a breath of fresh air - to read a review NOT written by a man-child adolescent hung up on self-proclaimed 'hardcore' experiences. I have this game pre-ordered. I'm disappointed to hear - in between the positives - a lot of negativity regarding this game in the series. I'll no doubt enjoy it, but as the review reads, will be disappointed it doesn't leave me with a feeling I've just played a classic, which is what I had hoped.
Easily the best football game of this gen. Hard to look on past that as nostalgia tends to rear its ugly head. Certainly better than Fifa 16 - in my opinion...and YES, I owned and played both. Traded my copy of Fifa 16 in a couple of weeks later.
One more thing. Why must all GOTY contenders have to be 'AAA' games? Ori and the Blind Forest, Rocket League, Her Story (for example). I guess the industry as a whole isnt ready to move on from its more adolescent 'hardcore' (LOL) past...
You've played it I assume. My guess is you haven't. But hey, why should that stop you trolling...
MGSV or Mario Maker are better suggestions. Far, far more polished.
Played (and owned) them all barring, Gotcha Force!? Never even heard of it until this point.
Me? I've ordered the retail version. I'm almost positive this game will be a tonic from the AAA 'blockbuster' titles saturating the shelves at present.
I still remember Gamespots review of Skyward Sword...7.5! No way on this earth is that game anywhere near a 7.5. Epic, innovative and polished to perfection. Amazing that such an epic game which relys so heavily on 1:1 motion controls works flawlessly 99.9% of the time.
Perhaps the biggest 'risk' and change of direction in any treasured franchise to date, and THAT was Gamespots response!?
That's like me saying I wouldn't buy a PS4 because of the touchpad, which - unlike the Gamepad - is totally a gimmick in the purest sense of the word. Sad that so many people are missing out on so many stellar Nintendo exclusives simply because they fear change, and when I say 'change', I mean small deviation.
This and Xenoblade proving single-player experiences still count. Between these 2 upcoming titles, Splatoon and Mario Maker, I can't find enough hours in the day. Damn my job, family and other interests/activities.
The lack of numerous fouls just adds to the ferocity of the matches - in my opinion. Yes, I could see it would be an issue for some, but for me I like the siege mentally of it all. The transfers - or lack of - is poor I will agree.
I was PES/ISS all the way until Fifa 09, the point in which PES fell down and Fifa improved massively. This stayed the same until this year - in my opinion. I bought both. Have since traded Fifa 16 and am running and running with PES 2016. Faults? Keepers (possibly) and online input lag (definitely). 'Fix' these niggles and you have arguably the best football game ever.
Nothing to say but...MORON!
Skyward Sword deserves to reach a larger audience. Forward thinking, game changing, an absolute epic. Building the game around Motion Plus gave the franchise legs like Resident Evil 4 did for its equivalent series of games. Yes, after Resident Evil 4 came some truly uninspired games, but Resi 4 cant be responsible for that. Hopefully the same doesnt apply for Zelda...of which I'm CERTAIN it wont.
Why? It was a perfectly good game in the series. Yes, it didn't live up to the stellar achievements of others in the canon, but judged alone, a good game. It was Corruption which for me was the worse Metroid. Yes (again), a very, very good game judged alone, but the isolation which has become standard for the series, gone. Super Metroid and Prime are still the leaders and arguably both vying for best game of all time.
I dont say it wasn't linear, certainly more than past Zelda games, but thats just one part. What it did right it did SO right. Building the game entirely around Motion Plus was a masterstroke. The fact it not only worked but changed the way I want to play Zelda games in the future was incredible. Skyward Sword REALLY made Twilight Princess feel incredibly dated and basic.
