Yes, the WiiU is really running out of steam *sarcasm*
Kerbal Space Program, 90's Arcade Racer, Shantae, etc, etc.
Because people are fickle with far too much time on their hands to solely play videogames. X is going to be epic and for anybody with interests, job or hobbies outside of videogames is going to take an age to even scratch the surface.
@drpepperdude
I cannot agree less. It's way better than Sunshine, WAY better. The equal of Mario 64, but not nearly as innovative, but the ship has sailed on that matter - hardly the developers fault. Yes, SMG (1&2) eclipse it, but only slightly. Both very different experiences.
Overall, put alongside platformers of old - both 2D and 3D...I would say it arguably makes the top 10.
Agreed. Many, many great platformers - but as usual - Mario takes the crown. SM3DW is (for me) a future classic and my only niggle with the game is that the multi-player aspect couldn't have been extended beyond local co-op.
No need for spin - unlike some 'rival' console and game developers desperately need. Anybody who enjoys Nintendo's contribution to the industry and/or owns a WiiU doesn't need sales or articles to convince them its a breath of fresh air with a strong library of games, most exclusive to said system.
I cant remember ALL my comments (sadly), but the fact I have owned PS1, 2 (bought at launch), 3 (bought at launch) and now 4 (again, bought at launch) does not sound like somebody too 'anti-Sony'...wouldn 39;t you agree? More importantly perhaps, I have owned and enjoyed MANY games exclusive to each Sony Playstation over the years, I just find recently its all getting a bit samey.
I could care less. My bet is you never played the original on initial release.
A shadow of its former self - pun intended!
Hardly. Some of the finest staple Nintendo franchises of all time were released exclusively for the Wii. Skyward Sword released near the end of the consoles life was (for me) the perfect swansong.
Ok, I'll admit it, I'm starting to get very, very worried now. I do hope Nintendo don't abandon us 'hardcore' which have stuck with Nintendo from the get-go.
Looks basically like each Uncharted multi-player that has preceded it, for good and bad. Personally I think it looks all a bit samey and deja vu.
Yeah. The library of games available for both WiiU AND 3DS are poor in comparison to what is available for either PS4, Vita and XB1...erm, right? Joking aside, I'll give you an example...
SM3DW. Nintendo's newest 3D Mario title. Most other developers would have been happy simply standing on the shoulders of the Galaxy games and simply releasing SMG3, but NOT Nintendo. No, we get a new 3D Mario game which as a result feels fresh, vibrant and relevant.
...
One has constantly innovated, surprised, entertained, all while being built on stellar mechanics. The other has not.
What you call a 'gimmick' turned the industry on its head with the Wii, not to forget helping Nintendo sell a LOT of consoles. Gimmick is PS4's touchpad or Kinect...hardware which doesn't back it up with GAMES.
Why is it people who - by all accounts - don't enjoy Nintendo's ideas and/or games appear to be dictating what the upcoming NX should or should not be? I've enjoyed every Nintendo console I have ever owned, that ranging from the SNES to the now excellent WiiU. All have offered different experiences and games, a variety of ideas.
I'm hoping Nintendo continue to forge their own path and NOT simply fall in line with 'rival' console makers. Its this reason...
I'm curious. If a new Zelda isn't a 'system seller', is anything? If not, not owning a WiiU has you missing out on MANY games, the majority of which exclusive and very, very good...perhaps even a handful of future classics - in my WiiU owning opinion.
This 'article' (flamebait) makes me smile...
People commenting they still love their Dreamcast, still believe it to be the best home console to date, that in face of the fact it sold so poorly - finally killing of Sega. Just goes to prove numbers do not stand in the way of a great console coupled with great EXCLUSIVE games.
I'd like to hear any WiiU owning Nintendo fan (such as myself) describe the WiiU as anything other than a success, at least w...
Honestly, I can't much fault the WiiU - weak Gamepad battery aside. For me however it's not the best, though I'd be hard pressed to tell you why not...
Yeah. A Link Between Worlds was a miserable game...right? All right then, SM3DW (WiiU) was a shambles...right? Erm, DKTF? etc, etc, etc.
If what Nintendo are doing is 'slipping', what in good God does that make what Sony/Microsoft are doing...
You 'sir', are an idiot! WW and SS, two games in the Zelda canon which work exceptionally well and each stands alone as revolutionary. TP was (for me) the first time in recent(ish) memory I can remember a Zelda game treading water...NOT what I have come to expect from this marvellous series of games - both console AND handheld. Yes, on its own TP was a very, very good game, but that is not enough going under the Zelda name.
Also, anybody who uses the term 'gimmick...
