Fair nominations. Hard to disagree with the eventual winner - to those that have played it.
I would be amazed if he had. Videogames are (still) for adolescents and/or chavs. Pains me to say it.
Splatoon or Rocket League...don't make me choose!
Agreed. Also, I remember picking up 'full price' ZX Spectrum games back on the day a fifth of the price of today's games, then there were the 'budget' tiles...
Fun could be found for less than £5.
MGSV, Undertale, MM3D, Ori, Homeworld Remastered, MH4U, Rocket League, PES2016, Splatoon, Mario Maker, etc, etc - in no particular order.
Each his own - but this wouldn't even make my top 20 of 2015. However, I cannot argue it feels a well polished title.
Now here is a 'feature' every self-styled 'hardcore' gamer can get behind...
And by "best" that obviously means semi-realistic.
Another video feature!? Written, please.
Funny, because (for me) if Mario looked like that I would probably quit my long, long time support of Nintendo. Nintendo do Nintendo best - SM3DW a perfect example.
Agreed. Don't get me wrong, I owned the Wii from launch and championed Motion Control - particularly Motion Plus - and am still gutted Zelda U won't be following in the tradition of Skyward Sword, but I just feel the option should have been included...that is until I was reminded *above* about the pointer controls.
Either way, SMG 1 & 2 - bona fide classics.
Sorry, I completely forgot about those...
My mistake.
Should probably be an option to use either Gamepad and/or Pro Controller - for those (unlike me) who don't own a Wii Remote and Nunchuck.
This sums up everything rotten at Gamespot HQ. Also, Majoras Mask HD? What the hell is that!? Maybe the meant Majoras Mask 3D - which was/is a strong contender for GOTY, but that's beside the point...
The staff and lists for best games of the year reads (generally) like a top 10 chav fodder of the year. Little to no imagination and not nearly enough respect/acknowledgment given to the games released this year which showed flair and innovation.
Not for me. R&C is a far, far bigger draw than UC4 ever was/is. U1, solid(ish), U2, good, U3, less good. The idea of another game in the series just leaves me cold at this point.
Even IF Nintendo 'just' release Star Fox Zero and Zelda U all of next year, I would be happy. Quality over quantity, always.
@G20WLY point missed...
WiiU, the 'kiddies' console...right?
@marloc-x beat me to it. Hehe.
@superchiller yes, if I were a heart attack suffering shareholder in a suit, I'd probably be 'bitter' sales of the WiiU weren't better...but I'm not. I'm somebody who enjoys a solid console and a good library of games. Luckily that's everything I've found the WiiU to be.
Sure, I could nitpick. Like the Gamepads second-screen gets sorely underused and the 32gb hard drive too much on the small side,...
So many WiiU games which just keep giving and giving and giving - all without the need to shell out much (if any) money at all. Trollers keep bringing up sales, I keep enjoying the WiiU, its games and experiences.
Another Nintendo copy and paste affair via (this time) Microsoft - Sony being just as guilty in the past (and present). Halo 5 is a very, very good game. The Halo franchise itself very accomplished. But please, not to be !mentioned in the same breat as Metroid and/or Prime.
