Bought/owner both. RDR for the PS3, The Witcher 3 for the PS4. RDR I enjoyed, not really grindy but a bit repetitive towards the end - still a good/great game. The Witcher 3 I traded not long after I bought it, felt like a chore. Just my opinion.
A 'real gamer' - such as myself (I believe) would have owned a N64 and NOT regretted not having one. Also, the last one in the list is rubbish. Gaming is hiding from life - for the most part. Also, a 'real gamer' would NOT have started gaming on a more modern console but more along the lines of a ZX Spectrum or (at least) Amiga - ideally.
I never finished many games on the list because yes, each start out very, very well, however, its not long before the grind and monotony sets in. This does NOT apply to SMB3, Sands of Time and Shadow of the Colossus, all incredible games which you dare not tear yourself away from - and each I've finished.
Time splitters was a particular highlight. However. Being handed the keys to the Mushroom Kingdom via Nintendo is on an entirely different level. Dreams do come true.
Rubbish. TLOU, Arkham Knight, GTAV, MGSV, PES2016 - for example. I would recommend all these games to anybody, and I should know, I own (and enjoy/ed) all of them. Yes - for me, the PS4 hadn't been a runaway success, so sue me. I feel its fair comment, particularly regarding its lack of "next gen' exclusives and paid for online.
I hate it. Last gen/year I could play all my friends (and strangers) online, no strings attached. This gen/year Sony pull the rug from under my feet. Sure, £40 (roughly) a year may not add up to a lot, but its the principle. For those who want the 'free' monthly game experience, sure, the subscription is a bit more palatable. For those (like me) who just want to play multiplayer over the internet, let it be without the need for strings attached.
Ordered. Fatal Frame (limited edition) and now this. Both may be a touch pricey, but as I see it, these are keepers/investments, NOT the disposable rubbish available elsewhere...no names mentioned.
Looks/sounds extremely promising. Also, what's become of 90's Arcade Racer?
I wish Sony hadn't removed the option simply to play online with friends without the need to subscribe to PS Plus. If I were interested in these 'free' games I would have purchased them on initial release. I know its 'only' £40 per year for the 'privilege', only playing online was FREE last gen, what changed in that time besides greed?
Yes, EVERYBODY should share the same opinion/tastes...
I feel the same when those trolling Nintendo/WiiU share their uninformed opinion - the majority of which don't even own a WiiU.
Yes, because like Move and Kinect (for example) Sony/Microsoft cant even copy and paste well...
Nintendo, making games since the mid-70's...classics for decade upon decade.
Activision, noteworthy games, erm...
I hope you work for EA, otherwise what's the point in talking numbers? I moved from being a die-hard PES man right at the point Fifa 09 and PES dropped the ball. However, its fair to say Fifa is becoming more an expensive luxury than the best football sim available today. Fifa is good - still, only (now) PES is back on form. 2 different experiences, 2 different markets.
Microsoft/Sony, following in the footsteps on Nintendo...and this is news!?
A fair review - based on my early impressions with it. Was a PES man all up until Fifa 09 - the point in which PES fumbled the ball. I tried most PES's year after year, each feeling terribly outdated and clunky. However, it appears this year PES has (least for me) taken the lead. Not 'perfect', but after playing both demos (Fifa and PES) decided Fifa felt for the first time in ages trite and more like I remember playing on the Megadrive/SNES than anything of late. I hope Konami/PE...
Agree 100%. It is simply people fear change and/or anything different. For example, take the Gamepad out the equation, people then hate on the games available for the WiiU simply for not being filled with 3rd party fodder - available elsewhere I may add, but people want it on EVERY major console for some reason I cant fathom. As for the option to sell the WiiU sans Gamepad, thats dumb, many of the games available take advantage of the Gamepad which without one would make the games themself im...
In my time gaming, I've played virtually every major series. I considered many but keep coming back to the holy trinity that is Metroid, Zelda and Metroid. Also, yes, since BioShock (for example) never had the opportunity to move from 2d into 3d it can never be considered a truly great franchise...suck it up! Play it enjoy it, but a GREAT series should (ideally) span more than 2 gens.
A better series than Metroid, or Zelda, or Mario!? No. Rather a good solid trilogy of games, some great, some 'just' very good. I personally believe the real test of a series is navigating many different gens and styles - particularly going from 2d to 3d.
3 years too late!? Hardly. It came at just the right time, injecting more fuel into the WiiU and its potential. Remember the games available at the PS4 launch? Uncharted4, 3 years too late...
I'd agree. Played locally against a friend and/or friends, PES (for me) plays a better game...HOWEVER. Played online (at present) PES's input lag is killing my enjoyment of it. Shame really, because PES (this year) deserves more attention.
