Could it be (possibly) that it has less to do with the games themselves not having that 'magic' of old than you have gotten older and hence lost something inside of you? I say this being in the same position myself - sort of. The library of Wii U games still (for me) wipe the floor with other pale imitations.

True - regarding how some games translate and some don't, sadly. However, I do wish Nintendo would ignore trends even more than they do already and go with what makes them stand apart.
Get screwed! This is one game - albeit a hollow and uninspired title, but I can point to a dozen or more games via the WiiU (and 3DS) which proves Nintendo is still king when it comes to injecting nostalgia coupled with innovation and a freshness to this gen.
Please, self-proclaimed 'hardcore' - pipe down! You have your PS4/XB1's for playing it safe, for rarely (if ever) surprising you or innovating. Stop looking over your neighbours fence and keep your fickle opinions to yourself.

Agree and disagree. Yes, I agree with the Wii it was a great experience and one I would be happy to repeat - in one form or another. Unlike so many self-proclaimed 'hardcore' I'm not scared of change and/or experimentation.
No, I disagree the PS4 has a controller which does it "way better than Nintendo could ever do". The NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube (in particular) proves Nintendo know exactly how to evolve and perfect a controller way better than anybod...

You say "another mario kart lol"? but another COD, Fifa, Uncharted, Halo, MGS, Dark Souls, etc, etc, etc...I bet THAT appeals. Hypocrisy. Also, seeing Mario Kart 8 is one of the top games of this gen (thus far), I don't see the franchise in trouble yet. Far, far from it.

FFS! Stop bamging on about the NX - until at least you have some solid information. The WiiU is deserving of more, much more than this. Games still due, and for those of you which have been living under a rock, a expansive catalogue of AAA games, Virtual Console, Indie and more. Highlight this please rather than speculation and flights of fancy.

On the surface, no - but this is Nintendo. I've lost track of how many times I think they've perfected a game/franchise only for them to raise the bar once again.
I know exactly what it is. My comment was regarding the best things to come out of videogames all (mostly) being traced back to Nintendo - either official or unofficial.
Nintendo's AND problem is its created so many amazing IP's over the years and gens that they arent going to please all of the people all of the time. True, I would also love to see Wave Race make it to the Wii U - even NX would be sweet, but its a case of 'join the queue'...so many other great IP's just as deserving.
