Good things come to those that wait...
Yes, PS4 and Xbox One owners also have game running in HD but for whatever reason its been only Nintendo - thus far - which really do it justice. SM3DW, Smash Bros and now Mario Kart 8, characters which look like you could reach into the screen and squeeze them, everything looks so rich, bold, colourful and 3D!
@Adolph Fitler "not that 2.5D Mario 3D stuff". WTF!?
SM3DW is more 3D than anything currently available on PS4, I highly doubt whether you have even played the damn thing because if you hadn't you wouldn't be making such false statements...saying what you did sounds more like you are regurgitating propaganda than speaking your own mind, sort of fits with your profile name.
The ONLY reason I dont own Wind Waker HD is I played it to death on my old Gamecube, must have completed it close to 4 times...an incredible game bordering on masterpiece. Funny you should mention trading Shadow Fall a week later, I did the exact same - I never wanted it in the first place but pre-ordering with Game committed me to buy a PS4 bundle and Knack was the only other bundle available, urgh.
I seriously wish I hadn't traded my PS3 in towards the cost of my PS4, I...
We can talk internal components and numbers all day long but its only on the ground level that things matter. I own a Wii U and PS4, to date the PS4 has nothing on it which I couldn't have played on my old PS3 (which I traded towards my PS4). The Wii U being Nintendo it has the ace up its sleeve it always has...exclusives! My library of Wii U games to date is Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101, SM3DW and Tropical Freeze, all of them barring one are exclusive to the sys...
I'm not going to lie, delaying the Wii U version is another setback for Nintendo's Wii U, BUT...by that date we Wii U owners will already have in our possession Smash Bros AND Mario Kart 8, if Watch Dogs is as good as either I will eat my hat.
All the hype surrounding said game, well, I can only say it had be REALLY good.
Fair enough, I concur these are 5 truly great exclusives, a couple even "classics", however...
The Wii U already in its first year has SM3DW, perhaps not equal with that of SMG 1 & 2 but certainly a GREAT exclusive, Smash Bros Wii U is also incoming, almost guaranteed to eclipse Brawl i.e ANOTHER great exclusive. Mario Kart 8 is a dead cert, X looks almost as certain, Bayonetta 2 and if Zelda U is released this year...WOW!
To recap, the Wii U ha...
You really think? Ok, in that case I cant wait to see the final build when its officially released and gasp in amazement, standing in the presence of the first "next gen" game in existence. I seriously, seriously doubt the Wii U's hardware could ever hold back a game of this type. I really cant wait to see what ONLY PS4 or Xbox one offer in its advantage.
Should Nintendo need to explain? The reasons I believe are obvious.
Sorry, most of the levels in MGS4 were "open world nature", however, the term itself is an illusion, its open world to a VERY strict guideline. I would not call the animations "far more fluid", slightly sure but that is a prerequisite.
My main concern is since MGS3 it looks visually less "classic" MGS and more Splinter Cell or even any generic stealth title. Nothing really stands out here as it has in past MGS titles.
It looks ok, no doubt about it, nothing more nothing less. DONT let the graphix cloud your perspective, not that even the graphix look "next gen" enough. MGS2 demo disc, now THAT was an experience...
Erm, looks VERY similar to scenes from MGS4, gameplay near identical i.e its going to look ok - as it does - but from what you get in realtime, very little. A lot more smoke-screens and mirrors.
Starfox Aventures, really, eclipsing ANY Zelda? Each to his own...
Kudos however for naming Monkey Island 2, also, while SMG got your no.1 spot don't you think SMG2 - while not the bolt from the blue its predecessor was - a more tighter games, better even?
Special mention goes to Resident Evil 4 (GC), talk about a game changer! It blew me for six on its initial release, never for a moment did it lull and the variety of adventure was spot on.
"It's not like these themed consoles have special features that are not available in normal consoles/handhelds". Sure, this time.
I bought a PS3 at launch, not long after a bigger hard-drive version was released at a lower price, not just that the launch Dualshock (minus rumble) suddenly found its rumble again, big surprise. Its getting worse and worse, coupled with DLC its the biggest con in gaming.
Sorry, I cant be that ignorant.
Doubters i.e those who dont consider Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros to be "game changers" for the Wii U are delusional...surely these games are as much the DNA of Nintendo as say Halo (Microsoft) and erm, sorry, looks like Sony has sold all their worthwhile exclusives.
Urgh, another "special edition" console/handheld...give me a break. Honestly, these gaming manufacturers have the self-proclaimed hardcore so tightly wound up.
The difference is SO minimal you need to keep really close attention to notice anything at all...the difference? ever so slightly cleaner look, not necessarily for the better. Take the whole package into account however and most people would agree, the Wii version is still the ultimate package.
I enjoyed them both (though not equally) on initial release but trust me, VERY overrated if you played either today for the first time. I can guarantee, the 99% of people who comment on them - as with Okami and games of the such - probably never played them.
Yeah, lets turn it into a COD/GTA clone, only then will the sheep buy in big enough numbers...baa. I unlike the majority of people who comment on Shenmue actually owned it on initial launch, I did the same with Shenmue 2 - I live in the U.K, people however don't want originality or even the unfamiliar, game sales show that for a fact.
Shenmue 3 (like that will ever happen) definitely deserves to be exclusive to the Wii U, let Sony and Microsoft owners keep buying any re-s...
Few games - if any - justify the purchase of a particular console for that 1 game. SMW (snes), Soul Calibur (dc), Mario 64 (n64), Resi 4 (gc) and possibly Skyward Sword (wii). That is all.
