Go play SM3DW, then go play the majority of games available for PS4 (of which I own), the difference becomes obvious. Leave it to Nintendo to actually deliver on 60fps gameplay - NOT just talk, talk, talk, only to fail on the ultimate delivery. It will make me laugh that when Sony via the PS4 finally do deliver on 60fps gameplay for the majority of titles the Wii U will have been doing it since near launch, on an apparently 'underpowered' machine.

The best 'limited edition' games (Nintendo Edition) in my collection...SM3DW with furry sleeve and key ring, Skyward Sword, that is all. Seriously, I'm a huge Nintendo fan but apart from these couple of limited edition games in my collection I am rarely ever tempted into the ones which I see as just offering plastic tat into the mix.

I have - from Game - Mario Kart 8 plus official steering wheel ordered, I have done for roughly a month now, feels loonnnggggggeeeee...

Erm, perhaps for most other franchises more akin to DLC, however... this is Zelda! Each new Zelda game is built from the ground up, everything from gameplay, sound and visuals, COD/assassins creed/mass effect this is NOT.

Sorry, 'fact' 2 is NOT a fact. Like I've stated previous - since purchasing my PS4 (at launch) I've been waiting patiently for a game NOT available any place else and one which takes advantage of its capabilities...sadly I don't see Watch Dogs as being it.

Unlike others I'll hold all reservations I have of it until I have actually played it, but from previews and recent footage I have seen very little to elevate it from the competition.

This will not, I repeat, this will not become a 'classic' - mark my words. Sad really because since buying my PS4 at launch I've been waiting for a true 'next gen' game, NOT cross-platform.

What on earth are you talking about..."real gaming"!? I suppose the definition 'real' for you is some socially awkward adolescent locked in his bedroom/pit whittling down the hours on some trite JRPG.

Gaming is for EVERYBODY!

Dont tell me games such as Mario Kart 8, Wonderful 101 and SM3DW aren't real games because they don't strive for some false notion that only semi-realistic (which will look dated very fast), violent and story-dr...

Incredible...no, not that Mario Kart 8 is running at 1080p/60fps even in 2 player split-screen - though that is indeed incredible, rather the anti-Nintendo brigade who even use this as an excuse to criticise or complain. Fact is we have a console which produces games of this beauty which not only play beautifully (I'm sure) but has the performance to match.

A premium Wii U with Mario Kart 8 and a great choice of FREE game such as Wind Waker HD, 101 or Pikmin 3 (for exampl...

This has felt like its taken an age...lets hope the promise is fully realised.

Hard to disagree. Saying anything negative about 101 would/should be a crime - its a fabulous, innovative and challenging game all packaged in a vibrant, lush exterior, a real bonus for the Wii U.

Simply the best game available this gen across all platforms, fact. Somebody is sure to name a 'better' game available on this gen tech AND previous...void. SM3DW simply wouldn't be possible on previous tech/gen.

Come on now, Mario Kart 8 owns May - and beyond, it's the only game in said month being talked about for the right reasons. I'm of course interested to see how Watch Dogs pans out but I fear it's going to turn out something far, far worse than bad...average.

Good thiNgs come to those who wait.

Its true. I own a Wii U, P.C and PS4, its the Wii U (easily) which at present has the best selection of games, slowly followed by the P.C then PS4. Only the most near-sighted Sony 'fan boy' would tell you that the PS4 is anything other (currently) than a poor man's PS3 - I should know, I owned one. Even games on the horizon it looks to be Nintendo which have the edge.

SM3DW, absobloodylutely. I own all the others but not quite got round to completing each, my loss. What I love about Nintendo first party games is that their never really complete, the hidden depths, secrets and rewards appear to just keep on giving...I'm sure Mario Kart 8 will be no exception.

@modesign

No, I definitely didn't miss them, rather I have unconvinced by most - if not all. The massive delays with Watch Dogs and Driveclub is hardly a good sign - no matter how you sugercoat it. The rest have everything to prove via some unedited gameplay footage.

Hardly a surprise. Everything I'm seeing makes Mario Kart 8 look to be the game of the summer, the only game which will match the hype. Wii U may or may not have problems with quantity - subjective to how much spare time you have on your hands, it does NOT have a problem with quality.

The ONLY game I want in May...Mario Kart 8! Trust it to be the one releasing at the very end of said month. The wait is killing me, the only consolation is that I am positive - as with most 1st party Nintendo games - it is going to live up to the hype. Watch Dogs, I hope you are watching...

THIS. It currently has the games - more wouldn't hurt I agree but quality, REAL quality doesn't show up every month...quantity never really makes amends, particularly when looking back with fond memories. I don't even necessarily agree better marketing is what is required, the Gamecube (to my memory) never had great marketing but left me nothing but great games, wonderful memories!

Funny that, because the announcement of another Assassins Creed, GTA, Halo, COD, etc, etc, etc seems to excite the majority and sell in huge numbers...hypocrisy much? What don't the anti-Nintendo mob understand, Mario (example) is our Halo, is our whatever staple franchise Sony hasn't lost, only with more invention, wit and gampeplay in its first 15 minutes than most games possess these days in their entirety.

Just FYI, I have owned and do own practically every major ...

@BIB not true - regarding 3rd party support, the Gamecube had plenty 3rd party support, most of it excellent. Also, Final Fantasy!? Why would I give a hoot to have Final Fantasy on the N64? The N64 was built for immediacy - everything the Final Fantasy games are NOT. CD Support (to my knowledge) offered little more than extended/bloated cut-scenes and bigger but not necessarily better worlds.

You kidding? As a gamer its the experience and memories which dictate, from day 1 with my N64 - Mario 64, who could forget seeing it for the first time - to towards the end of its lifespan I played so, so many incredible games, true innovators and masterpieces.

Never once did I ever think while playing Ocarina, Goldeneye, Lylat Wars, Blast Corps, Wave Race or WWF No Mercy, oh, I wish I had a CD-ROM.
