I honestly wouldn't mind a bit that Molyneux chips in with his half-baked opinion now and again if he had actually made games which made the world sit up and take notice, thing is...he doesn't! Imagine Molyneux working for a studio such as EAD Tokyo, he would be fired within a week.

I'm not hating, as I said - "like the Dreamcast", the Dreamcast is one of my favourite consoles of all time, also I made the point of being confident the Xbox One will have more than its fair share of great games. I just feel that both rival consoles are getting the press (right or wrong) while Xbox One appears to be sitting in the shadows somewhat.

I'm not going to quote numbers, I hate it when people do that - because I am first and foremost a videogames f...

This is true for the most part. Sure, you will always find exceptions to the rule but the thing about the more "retro" games on this list is that they innovated, surprised and felt a breath of fresh air...a lot of the newer games feel to be simply going through the motions, the shiny new HD graphics just used as a smoke-screen.

I may be wrong, have been in the past, but I can honestly see Microsoft going the way of Sega with the Xbox One. I would be very, very surprised is the Xbox One wasn't Microsoft's last home console, all that bad reaction early on and those remarkable u-turns I think left a bad memory in peoples minds. I'm sure - like the Dreamcast - Microsoft and the Xbox One will show us some great games while its around, perhaps even the odd few "masterpieces", but I really dont see a ...

Goes without saying, surely? Even at the time of picking up my Dreamcast (day 1), I purchased this (well, Sonic Adventure) and SoulCalibur, it doesn't take a detective to figure out which of the above games got played most. It was ok-ish, enough to make me buy Sonic Adventure 2 - this time on my now Gamecube, nothing much had really improved.

Even Sonic Colours, a game I own for my Wii and one of the better Sonic 2D/3D games - if we are being honest - is good at best, not...

So, for Xbox One and PS4 owners at least (I own a PS4, along with my Wii U and 3DS) "next gen" continues to elude us. I really dont see much even in the coming year which is going to make me glad I own a PS4, Infamous Son I am certain will be an albeit solid but unspectacular games, least where it really counts...GAMEPLAY.

Thank goodness the PS4 isnt my only go to.

People, please don't blame Resi 4 for what came after or for the much, much needed shot in the arm the Resi franchise so desperately needed. Resi 4 IS a true Resi game, don't be naive or ignorant to suggest otherwise...the almost dead franchise wouldnt be getting talked about today if Resi 4 hadnt came along and blew everything wide open. Yes, I love the more traditional Resi games but those still exist for those interested in only that world, Resi 4 was/is the now benchmark for all o...

I like anything which breathes fresh life into a fast becoming predictable industry - FPS as far as the eye can see - but this to me looks just like a poor man's Kororinpa or even Monkey Ball.

Sorry, I like the innovation but don't like a lot of the ideas you submit here in your list, still, nice to see somebody thinking about new ways to play old classics.

A track editor would be a lovely option, of course, but its still going to be Nintendo's own courses (retro or new) which capture people imaginations and end up being favourites.

Somebody has a sore case of nostalgia. Yes, the Gamecube was a trailblazer in terms of graphics, many titles still holding up well today - I was a MASSIVE fan, but put (for example) something like Sunshine and SM3DW side by side...ouch! Tropical Freeze next to Jungle Beat, W101 next to Viewtiful Joe, etc, etc. Wii U is running these games not only in HD but (most of the time, unlike PS4 and Xbox One) a LOCKED 60fps.

Erm, just as the PS4 and Xbox One aren't simply upgraded versions of their predecessors...that's the entire definition of "next gen"! Also, as far as the games not showing the Wii U's grunt is strictly inaccurate, games such as SM3DW (locked 60fps with those graphics), W101 (that many things going on at any one time), Tropical Freeze (lush environments, again all at 60fps) and Nintendo Land (no lag at all between main T.V and Gamepad).

People just cant s...

No Resident Evil 4 is good (on PS2), only since it looked SO inferior compared with the Gamecube version, sloppy seconds springs to mind. Yes, I would have included MGS3: Subsistence but each his own.

A particularly well observed top 10 I think, especially in the light of all the others knocked together quickly and with obviously little consideration. Okami being high on the list is all I was looking for...confirmed.

This can only be good. If the Wii U ever needed a plan b, personally - and as a LONG standing Nintendo fan - I sadly think it may...well this is it! Only Nintendo's rich back catalogue and heritage can muster this type of frenzy when drip feeding us the "classics".

Its funny, people seem to be focused on the future of the Wii U but (for me) who I think will be grateful for this is Microsoft with their Xbox One. I dont see the Xbox One being a particularly bad console, its way too early to say that, however, whether it releases a good/great library of games over the coming year I see its future similar to that of the Sega Dreamcast.

The Wii U and PS4 seem the perfect combination of consoles, Xbox One - with its BIG hardware/software mist...

More unappreciated games on the Wii than both PS3 and 360 combined. Seriously, my Wii back catalogue is a treasure trove of games which have gone sorely missed by the plastic population last gen, mostly down to ignorance.

That this isn't coming to the Wii U, gutted is an understatement. Why, oh why did I ditch my last gen tech so quickly...

Please, I've been waiting so long, don't allow Sony to create Shenmue 3. Only Nintendo for me can do justice to the franchise, colourful rich worlds, something Nintendo has always excelled in...the Gamepad also would allow for some innovations.

This guy know what he is talking about. The Wii U would be perfect for The NewZealand Story 2 making an appearance, I'm sure the Gamepad could bring an extra dimension. Kick Off was great, Kick Off 2 even better.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Up until the Wii Nintendo's consoles have always been on the cutting edge of technology. Also, people have always bought Nintendo's handhelds NOT for the games but for their innovations, be it Gameboy (gaming on the move) or DS (dual screen/touch screen).
