Exactly. Honestly, comparing either PS3 or 360 with the Wii U is silly. Of course the PS3/360 has a larger and perhaps better library of games available for it, its been around for years now, but dare we remember the drought of quality which effected both these consoles in their first year.

Its like me saying the Wii U has a far better library of games for it than either PS4/Xbox One, of course it does, particularly since both "rival" consoles have nothing great ti...

Erm, "1st good game", hardly. Wind Waker HD, Deus Ex, Pikmin 3, Most Wanted U, Mario Bros U, Wonderful 101, Lego City, Rayman Legends, etc, etc...these are all good games, critics and gamers alike will tell you so.

When you say "1st good game" I guess you are saying first game to reach the pinnacle of gaming, so then perhaps you are correct. Thing is, and I know its just early days and I own a PS4, but so far its library of games is average at best.

Sure, just buy Nintendo. Are you freaking kidding me!? Sony couldn't buy Nintendo if its future rested on it. Seriously, the nonsense I have been reading based on the back of a Nintendo console no less not meeting its sales targets. Nobody is going to pretend it isn't bad news for Nintendo, but a lot of people are getting carried away.

If anybody should go third party then it is (for me) Microsoft. I mean, their consoles are little more than gimped P.C's, ter...

@modesign

Apple, Samsung and Google replacing Nintendo!? Erm, where is each's proven track of creating games to rival Nintendo's own? I highly doubt that even if all 3 combined to make 1 company that they could even still create games the likes of which Nintendo have been steadily doing since the NES.

Lose Nintendo - which wont happen, certainly in my life time - and lose any edge to the videogames industry. Nintendo, despite what others think about...

Really, a joke? Erm, I'm sorry, what exactly makes the 2014 line-up for either PS4/Xbox One far greater?

Kudos Next-Level Games. None of the issues associated with multi-platform games and all of the benefits. Could we please be seeing the next Nintendo/Rare partnership? Before that is Microsoft threw money at them only for them to release nothing of note on either Xbox, 360 or (now) Xbox One.

Erm, get in the queue. So, so many genuinely overrated games series to mention. Where Zelda has innovated, crafted and polished some of the most unique gaming experiences of all time, plenty of other franchises deem it ok to rinse and repeat. The newest console Zelda, Skyward Sword, pure innovation and craft. The newest handheld Zelda, A Link Between Worlds, similarly as innovative (almost) and wonderful crafted.

What @CaptainN said. Also, are you really as big a Zelda fan as you claim? It may be a small thing but for me, who is another big Zelda fan, that you referred to Ocarina as Zelda 64 - which could be confused with Majora's Mask - set alarm bells ringing...troll alert?

I'm sorry, but this comes as a surprise to who exactly?

People really, really need to stop misunderstanding Nintendo...

Yes, so far this game sounds interesting, but then so did Colonial Marines initially, and yes, I own a Wii U and more 3rd party support is always appreciated...BUT. I wouldnt be surprised if said title turns out to be mediocre and in the time between now and it being released Nintendo release more than enough AAA games for us to enjoy.

Shame really since an Aliens game built from the ground up centred around the Gamepad is a no-brainer, once again however it looks like it ju...

TLOU, fairly easily. I enjoyed GTAV (a lot) until the repetition set in - which it always does. TLOU on the other hand didn't - I feel - outstay its welcome and changed pace enough to enjoy throughout.

Saying all that, Ive got to agree with what videogames website CVG is saying, Super Mario Galaxy is far, far away Game of the Generation...quite flawless.

Swap TLOU with Uncarted 2 and I would find it hard to disagree. Galaxy 2 however is I think the better Galaxy game but I see why the original was picked.

Erm, Mario as a series has the right to claim every spot on this list should the writer have wanted. Mario is the genesis of the side-scroller as we know it, the blueprint, the pinnacle. Not only that but it took what it had a firm hold over - the 2D side-scroller - and captured the same hold in 3D, never to be underestimated.

I would however like to tip my hat to the numerous very good side-scrollers I have played of late, Cave Story being a particular favourite. Rayman Lege...

Yes, actually, constantly. Its (Nintendo) constantly releasing hardware which is innovative and refreshing, games which are revolutionary, creative and masterful. The last Zelda on consoles (Skyward Sword) was arguably the most innovative and refreshing game of last gen, coupled with it being one of the best. The latest Mario (SM3DW) offers newness in every level, every power up, every move.

Nintendo are generally the only developer working today which you can be guarantee...

Pathetic, truly! Knack will be dead and buried before the year is out. A hopeless game rushed through for a launch. Imagine for a second Knack were released not with the launch of Sony's PS4, say in February or March next year, it would sit on shelves and rot. Super Mario 3D World is the creation of some of the hardest working, innovative and most talented developers working today. Super Mario 3D World will have legs, it will run and run. True quality always wins in the end, even if i...

Difference being, a few of the game mentioned here are "the same damn game", and only a few if not 1 generation old. I'll be very, very interested to see how games such as Halo, Uncharted and Assassins Creed (for example) are doing in 20 years time...

My bet? Dead on their arse.

Repetitive? Funny, because just about every review I have read comments on how this games offers no repetition, saying as they do every level offers something different than the previous, that the game is constantly changing and not standing still for a moment.

Its true, Ive not played the game myself, though I do have it pre-ordered to (hopefully) arrive on Friday, but I can guarantee that going off said reviews and EAD Tokyo's previous work that this will easily be the...

Same could be said for ANY PS3/360 game which came after launch, since - like the Wii U - both had good games but nothing worth the price of the consoles alone. Anyway, has the PS4 or Xbox One any launch games which rival SM3DW? Honest answer...not even close.

A fair list, however, I would personally swap places 1 and 2 for each other, placing A Link to the Past first and Wind Waker second. Skyward Sword a very worthy third, a much, much (hardly underrated, the critics loved it, rightly so) undervalued "Legend of", I simply cant imaging going back to traditional controls now.

My least favourite Zelda? While an absolutely fabulous game in its own right, I simply felt that Twilight Princess was the first time for the seri...
