He says the right things but unfortunately I don't believe the talent is onboard. No Mercy Wii U developed by the right team, yes please!

No, I don't think price was the main reason, I think the main reason is more likely the game itself is poor, no relation to price whatsoever. To be fair, this has been coming for some time - MGS game scoring VERY poorly.

I'm a fan of the franchise myself but am not short sighted...MGS1 was very good/great, MGS2 (lets be honest) less than good, average at best. MGS3 was (for me) a triumph - a return to form, then came MGS4. MGS4 was (again, for me) an unmitigated disas...

Loved NES Remix, loved that it came out of nowhere and (nearly) made up for Game & Wario Wii U dropping the ball, but what a bloody difficult game, a real throwback to retro games of old.

Yes, because if either mentioned Nintendo games had been launched originally on smartphones im sure both would be regarded the classics they are today.

Rubbish, absolute rubbish! Yes, games before Skyward Sword used the different joypads in interesting and innovative ways BUT, after playing Skyward Sword I cant imagine going back to button-mashing. Surely the future for Zelda is 1:1 motion control perfected and polished, not that Skyward Sword did anything wrong in my opinion its just Nintendo always appear capable of improving on perfection.

Look at the grass, seriously, look at it...lush! For those who haven't tried it, Wii Sports Club Golf is a much unappreciated experienced and extremely nuanced, much like most of what Nintendo delivers. Sure, it wont attract the bedroom trolls only interested in solitary experiences and semi-realistic graphics - violence also, it will however appeal to those feeling jaded with the recent 'blockbuster' releases.

Bullshit, seriously! SM3DW not picking up any award, be it GOTY, multi-player, family or music, hardly surprising however, probably it never stood a hope in hells chance with the anti-Nintendo bias and self-proclaimed 'hardcore' doing the rounds. Seriously, when will people recognise Nintendo for what they are doing with the Wii U as much as is happening with the 3DS?

Correct. How SM3DW didn't win this 'award' is a scandal.

A very good game (TLOU) but for my money SM3DW should have scooped GOTY 2014, Nintendo again achieving the impossible by crafting a game which can be mentioned in the same breath as any of its predecessors - and what company! I didn't expect Nintendo to do well however since the anti-Nintendo brigade are influencing peoples views of Nintendo.

Its going to be like a week in the life of Morgan Spurlock making sure I get that Donkey Kong figure...hidden camera?

What is it that people feel the need to place a label on themselves...'core gamer', 'hardcore', 'casual', etc, etc. Give it a rest and just play the damn games, that is, if you choose to.

Its not quality but quantity that counts - these days, haven't the Sony and Microsoft fan boys taught you anything? I think people were so spoiled with past Nintendo console launches, be it games or innovations or both that has left the Wii U launch feel slightly underwhelming. Point is however we now have a wonderful console due to firmware updates and a varied collection of brilliant games IF you can avert your eyes from the latest FPS re-skinned.

This I'm afraid to say will be quite the sobering feeling. I'm almost certain Ground Zeroes will be more MGS4 as opposed to MGS3, also I'm expecting Second Son to play largely similar (obviously) to Infamous 1 & 2 i.e solid but VERY unspectacular.

My advice - based on my experiences - buy a Wii U, DONT listen to the propaganda circling based largely on people who haven't even play one let alone owned - the only true way to get a feeling for a console. I fe...

Nothing to see here folks, no foul language, guns or semi-realistic graphics i.e everything the self-proclaimed 'hardcore' deem worthy. God forbid a developer would inject a change of pace into the jaded now predictable console scene.

Hard to disagree. Perhaps Sir Clive Sinclair in place of Nolan Bushnell?

3D Sonic games are good, 2D are bad...WTF!? No offence, but on topics such as the ones this panel are addressing the ages need to be more varied, not just a bunch of 20 something's. Natahan Drake representing Sony...erm, he represents ONE generation of Sony (thus far), surely there are better candidates who have been supporting Sony since PS1, hard I agree since they (Sony) sold most of their franchises up the river.

Both? Erm, you are aware that the Wii U has a controller aren't you...easily the most innovative of the bunch - like it or not. Of course you arent, because the blinkered self-proclaimed "hardcore" such as yourself cant see anything past semi-realistic FPS or "proper" controllers i.e same as before but for twice the price.

Perfect ammunition for the Sony fan boys...

I own a PS4, as I do a Wii U and 3DS, however, this technical information comes as no surprise (or delight) to me because while its Titanfalls turn today it could be Sony's next, the PS4 hardly setting the world alight already when it comes to what actually matters, games! Come on Sony, give me something which makes me feel anything but regret for purchasing my PS4 at launch, not even games on the horizon look dead certs.

Honestly, I couldn't care less. Their 'support' of the Wii U has been subpar already, I can't see things improving. Give me developers with imagination, foresight and hardworking, basically Nintendo 1st party.

Seriously, is this really the near-final build? I'm no graphics whore as a lot of people are these days, however, I cant help noticing that in terms of visuals it looks no better - unless my eyes deceive me - that GTAIV (PS3/360), even GTAV (PS3/360) has far more going for it on last gen tech.

Oh well, back to my Wii U which I have been enjoying since purchase but will do so in more peace now since the Sony/Microsoft fan boys have quietened down a little looking at this r...
