Yes, its just an example of how truly innovative and classic games stand apart from what's released since. Note to other developers: stop being so safe!

WOW, looks nice - and I'm not a usual fan of the racing genre. Reminds me of the most criminally overlooked and forgotten Excitebike 64.

Ha, a nice idea. If Titanfall is still being played/remembered come Christmas I will be very, very surprised. Its no wonder - myself included - that people are looking again at PC gaming, the majority of consoles/games are feeling increasingly predictable, expensive and devoid of any 'personality'.

Ironically it is Nintendo with the Wii U and 3DS which stands apart from the crowd, unfortunately mob rules.

Lovely. I wonder how many 'modern' games will be remembered 20 years later, my bet? not a lot (if any).

I've got to agree. I was a fan of Shenmue 1 & 2, buying both at launch and enjoying each separately, however, the incessant talk of a new Shenmue is ridiculous, I mean, how could it ever live up to the expectations people have placed on it. If Shenmue 3 does get the green light however I feel it should be made exclusively for Wii U, much more fitting than the takes themselves too seriously PS4 and Xbox One.

Be honest, this is what 'next gen' boils down to, side by side comparisons in which you have to stare for hours to notice the difference - if any. Also, most games can look great static, just wait until the games are moving, all that screen-tear and inconsistent frame-rates...sigh.

I suppose still we will not stop the anti-Nintendo brigade ragging on the Wii U for god knows what.

Erm, why would I keep denying the PS4, I picked one up at launch, I just wanted the console but was forced into buying the Killzone bundle, I traded said game 1 week later. Killzone 2 was great, Killzone 3 less so, Killzone 4 worse yet. I played both Infamous games, granted both were demos but I knew from that a retail purchase would be a waste of time.

I'll speak to you when the Second Son reviews hit the fan...

A bit premature to trade it in don't you think? Its my fault really, I suppose I bought all the PR and propaganda Sony had been peddling in the build up to the PS4 launch, I just wished I had kept my PS3 for a good while longer. I'm relatively confident Sony will at some point make owning a PS4 feel a good choice, I just don't see it happening anytime soon.

A great game but come on, I didn't buy my PS4 for this. Even worse I have it on my 3DS XL so the wait to justify my PS4 continues...

You say that's a "good thing", I say understandably.

@Blacktric

Erm, yes, what else? Least unlike many mine are formed on actually owning and playing said items, unlike the anti-Nintendo propaganda doing the rounds these days, clearly the majority dont own a Wii U or have even played one.

I dont know why not, MGS4 was little more than a 5-6 hours game take away the excessive and badly written cut-scenes, probably you paid full price for that...I know I did on the hope it would (MGS4) be more MGS3 than MGS2, sadly it took after the later - MGS2.

Oh dear, "solid". Worse than so bad its good - Deadly Premonition, nowhere near great, a bog-standard affair, exactly what PS4/Xbox One DOESN'T need right now.

I cant comment on Second Son, but going off past Infamous games, no, not even close. If we are talking Action/Adventure it doesn't even get a look in. 'Sandbox', again, nowhere near. Unless Second Son really raises the bar from past Infamous games I can say confidently it will be a 7-8 scoring games, not bad but nowhere near great, vanilla.

Oh my, SMW2: Yoshi's Island was NOT what I had anticipated, actually, perhaps it was and that was its failing. I expect with Nintendo to re-invent, innovated and take 'old' games in new interesting directions, what I don't expect is a simple case of rinse and repeat. Canvas Curse (Kirby), Jungle Beat (Donkey Kong), SM3DW (Mario) and Skyward Sword (Zelda) are great examples.

Erm, hardly. As a Metroid fan I have been spoiled for choice over the years, only last gen I was given Corruption and Other M, sure, neither were jewels in the crown but both were very generous offering none the less. Problem being that with a series such as Metroid how do you ever top games such as Super Metroid and Metroid Prime...most if not all Metroid games from now on will feel (while good) inferior.

Its just a case of lowering expectations, hopefully then being very pl...

@Angeljuice

Why the hell not, makes a change from all the anti-Nintendo trolling that does the rounds ad nauseam. Nintendo are like Sony and Microsoft, good points and bad, only people appear of late to have been avoiding all the good Nintendo have been doing, be it the games, innovations or OS improvements.

Dont tell me you couldnt at present being enjoying everything on PS4 just as well (and cheaper) on PS3, I know this being a PS4 owner having traded my PS...

Honestly, no. Feels to me its going to be a sort of 6-7 scoring game, not excessively bad but not great, vanilla. Besides, I played both Infamous 1 & 2 and didn't enjoy either enough for me to consider Infamous 3 at launch. Regarding the Wii U, are you really out of stuff to play, I mean, have you played W101, Rayman Legends, SM3DW, Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, Tropical Freeze, MH3U, Lego Undercover AND ZombiU?

Dont also forget the backlog of Wii games which you may have ...

Perhaps it is - the worlds most powerful console, unfortunately for Sony it is definitely NOT supplying the games or experiences which any console should. I own a Wii U for the GAMES, games which more than hold their own against such a "powerful console", I also own a P.C which is arguably more powerful than a PS4, allows me to play the majority of multi-platform games available AND does everything the PS4 doesn't.

I'll add that I picked up a PS4 at launch b...

I don't know why for so many people this is hard to fathom. I purchased both 'next gen' systems at launch, the PS4 and Wii U, currently - and I know its very early days - its only the PS4 I am regretting. Sure, its almost certain the games will come but since I have just rediscovered PC gaming (got myself a nice upgrade) I've the feeling owning a PC/Wii U combo would be the way forward. I may miss a few of the exclusives only on PS4 but honestly, I would rather this than miss ...
