Could it be that Micro$oft is actually admitting that the Wii is a competitor? And a competitor that is kicking their A$$E$?
Micro$oft is a company that is entirely too arrogant. They seem to think that they can just buy their way into dominance in every market they jump into. I'm glad to see that Nintendo is SHOWING them that this is not the case.
Granted, the Wii cannot push out the graphics like the 360 can. But it is doing a great job of showing Microsoft...

Simple economics... Lower prices means more people purchasing that technology. More units in distribution = more media sold. Everybody knows that selling media (Games or HD Movies) is where the real profit margin is at, so why wouldn't they reduce the price...
Actually, the original XBox was the easiest to hack... Microsoft LEFT THE BIOS DEBUG BUS IN THE MOTHERBOARD DESIGN!!! All the way up to the last XBox motherboard revision!
I remember looking into the original PS2 modchips, and freaking out over having to solder 12 connections all over the motherboard to successfully mod the system.
Also, with the XBox modchip, you could play most games off of the hard drive (which was awesome, since it pretty much eliminated lo...

P.O.G... Being a 360 fan, I don't expect you to know that GTHD has something in the title after High Definition... And that's CONCEPT, as in NOT a finished game. It is just to give an idea of the 1080p 60fps goodness that Gran Turismo 5 will be.
I can't wait to see what the final product will be like. The GTHD Concept is pretty damn impressive, and that came out shortly after launch. Gran Turismo 5 is still at least a good six months away, and I can't wait to see what kind...
Access to Sony Connect, and the Playstation Store DIRECTLY FROM THE PSP could be the tipping point for Sony to start seeing the sales rush from the PSP that they have been looking for.
I can't believe that they completely missed out on direct music downloads and streaming from any WiFi hotspot. That could have been the feature that allowed the PSP to take on the iPod directly. If Sony was smart, they would implement this before Apple puts out a WiFi iPod with iTunes access ri...
Both Sega and Namco are using PS3 based hardware for their new arcade games.
Don't get me wrong, the 360 version of this game will probably be just as good as the PS3 version, perhaps with some enhanced modes, but I wouldn't expect it to look or play any better (the PS3 version plays PERFECTLY)
Big media can put all of the DRM cryptographic crap into their products that they want... Workarounds WILL be found and used...
Whatever happened to fair use? We the people USED to have that right.
Maybe if the entertainment industry would simply listen to their customers, find out what they want, and provide it at a fair price, they wouldn't have this rampant piracy issue.

I've been saying for the last couple of years that the head honcho's at Sony deserve to be fired...
I love their hardware, but some of the things they said during the run-up to the PS3 launch, and all of the obvious opportunities they completely missed with the PSP makes me wonder if the Sony execs have any idea of what the customer wants.
The one quote that absolutely kills me to this day was when they were talking about the PSP being "The walkman of the 21...

How much of those sales were to OEM's for new PC's, and how much was retail sales of Vista? Also, how much will Dell's decision to continue to sell systems pre-installed with XP affect overall Vista sales?
Personally, after using Vista for a month or so now (running in a virtual machine, of course), I fail to see what the advantage to running Vista is other than DirectX 10. It consumes more resources for the OS itself, it's a pain in the a$$ with the privilege escalation prom...

I'm curious as to how many of the bricked 360's were running the hacked DVD firmware. THAT would make sense with updates constantly killing 360's.
Things like this are why I will only buy consoles from EB Games or GameStop... Their no-questions-asked extended warranty is GREAT!!!
