It's hard to say what all will cause the three red rings.. Nobody but Microsoft hardware knows for sure..
Also, this could just be an isolated bad unit that was just good enough to make it past QA in the factory...
Hard to say on this one...
NONE of the versions of this game did well review-wise.. PS3, 360, or Wii...
Shoot... Tiger Woods is one game that I actually <gasp> prefer the XBox/360 controller for </blasphemy> ;-)
I'm still tempted to rent Tiger 08 just to see how much it is teh suck...
Ticks me off though... I was really looking forward to this one...
"Use Bit-torrent and download whichever movie you want, then watch it through a HD media player. Thats what I do. And its free."
LOL... Yeah, right up until you get slapped with a DMCA lawsuit... We'll see how "free" those movies you're downloading are then... ;-)
From a purely business perspective, it makes ZERO sense to drop the format that is selling more discs CONSISTENTLY for the one selling less discs. Regardless of the number of stand-alone players sold.
Paramount is a content provider, they make movies, NOT video player hardware. The decision to drop the leading format in disc sales in this format war makes no logical business sense.
Who's digital download service are you going to go with? There's so many different codec/DRM methods out there that there could be countless different incompatible digital download services out there.
How long do you think it will take for that to get settled?
Technically, digital cable/sattellite TV w/ a DVR is digital distribution (which happens to have been around for years), yet if I switch from cable to satellite (or just from one cable/satellite provider...
Aah Kojima... You never fail to deliver, do ya? ;-)
This game is THE reason I bought a PS3. From all of the videos released so far, and especially the gameplay video on PSN, this game is not going to disappoint. Well, it won't disappoint me at least... =)
1080p movies ROCK... And if you know how to shop around, it's EASY to find Blu-Ray movies for $19.99 each...
"Myth: Blu-ray has more capacity.
Reality: Follow me carefully here, because the distinction I’m going to make does not rule out the possibility that Blu-ray will indeed, ultimately offer more storage capacity.
While Blu-ray is (theoretically) capable of delivering a dual-layer 25GB disc for a total of 50GB’s, the truth of the matter is, the Blu-ray (movie) titles Sony has shipped thus far are on single layer 25GB discs.
So in reality as of Au...
I had an absolute blast with the beta. I would say a bare minimum of an 8.7 (as far as reviewing the beta).
The fact that you can have your buddies hop in split-screen on the fly into the online game you're playing makes this game great! Intense action, the vehicles are a blast, and the online modes in the beta made for one great time.
I will most definitely pick this up when it comes out.
Folding@Home pushes the PS3 harder than any game. I've been running the Folding@Home client on my PS3 since it first came out. While I'm sleeping and at work, my PS3 is running with its CPU maxed out.
I have not had ONE issue with it.
You would think that if the PS3 had any issues like the 360's RROD, that Folding@Home would have brought that out by now...
Even after my PS3 has been running F@H for 18 hours straight, the air coming out of the con...
"damn dude you look like a pedo."
LOL... Well, I wouldn't expect a 360 fan to recognize the lead character from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune... Too funny...
Anyhow... Back on subject. While I agree that the title of this article is more than a tad bit misleading, I find it hilarious how much animosity there is over this article. Also how many people are claiming that this site is overrun with Sony fans...
Just a few months ago on this...
"and yet pretty much every thing he says is right, The HD ""revolution"&a mp;q uot; Is crap and a scam, no one needs it, its an worthless expendature."
That's your choice then. Keep on gaming and watching movies in standard definition in all of its fuzzy glory...
I have preferred PC gaming for years. My biggest gripe with console gaming was the ultra-low resolution you had to play in. The field of view in first person shooters on the P...
I'm just waiting on the announcement that DX 10 will be officially back-ported to XP... That would be HILARIOUS, but a VERY welcome thing...
Three letters explain it all... OEM
What would be interesting is to see how Vista sales break down between retail sales, and OEM sales (to be installed on new PC's).
Personally, I'm sticking with Dell for new PC's for my workplace. At least Dell will give you the choice between Vista and XP on new PC's.
Then explain why a PC HAS to have a fast dual-core CPU, at least 2GB of RAM, and a 7200RPM drive with a large cache just to run Vista at an acceptable speed?
Heaven forbid you install it (or get it pre-installed) on a laptop with only 1GB of RAM and a 5400RPM hard drive. The OS itself will run OK, but when you start running Office 2007 apps, and have a few browser windows open, watch the speed drop of significantly.
Do the same tasks on the same hardware, but ru...
Dude! It's the OoGhiJ MIQtxxXA!! :-)
That's right, dude. Send e-mails from your brain. And now it's got hot new games, like the Legend of Zoltare. Plus it cures all diseases, dude! I kicked all my zits to the curb. Dude, you're getting an OoGhiJ MIQtxxXa!!!
I recall seeing specs on the Nintendo Revolution stating that it could end up with a 3.2Ghz single-core CPU, or possibly a dual-core 2.0Ghz CPU.
That, combined with an HD-Capable video chipset and at least 128MB of RAM (Vs. the measly 88MB they put in the final product) would have made for a MUCH better system than they ended up with.
Honestly, SOME games actually look decent on an HDTV. Zelda looks pretty decent... But other games like Resident Evil 4 look lik...
"Who cares? The point is: last gen the PS2 had the advantage of the largest installed base. Thus getting more attention, more exclusives, more games. This gen it's the 360."
Not necessarily... By your logic, the Wii will be getting the most attention this generation(largest install base - STILL selling out consistently almost a year after launch, and BY FAR cheapest development costs).
It's a known fact that developers will concentrate on the system th...
"edit: wow there's a lot of fanboy trolling going on with these types of articles... you guys ever think logically? ever think due to the super slow read speeds of BR there might be a chance that reading uncompressed data might actually speed up the process? i'm not programmer but to me that makes sense and hence why nothing is compressed"
LOLZ... Talking about thinking logically... Somehow reading uncompressed (larger) files from a drive is faster than reading comp...
C'mon Sony... If they could pull off a $400 PS3 without losing their shirts, they would sell a LOT of PS3's this Christmas season...
More than likely, we'll just see a $500 80GB PS3 though... Personally, here's to hoping for a rumble SixAxis announced at the TGS!
