"And yet the sixaxis doesn't even rumble. One of the most basic controller features."

True, the SixAxis doesn't have rumble, but the DualShock 3 does... I've been enjoying rumble in almost every PS3 game released since Ratchet & Clank: ToD, and some of the earlier PS3 games as well. By the time that GTA4 releases, the DualShock 3 will be out in the US and Europe. I imported my two back in November.

So, what's your point? Lemme guess... "Th...

GTA4 and DMC4 are both games where I played the predecessors on the PS2, and I'll be getting the latest game on the PS3. I have a 360, but it's only used for exclusives... ;-)

One of the major reasons I feel this way: CoD4 on the 360 vs. the PS3... My 360 sounds like it's getting ready to take off while I'm playing CoD4, with the fans on full blast. Even after a marathon 2 hour session, my PS3 doesn't have to run the fans on max (unlike while I'm running Folding@Home, when...

A price drop this early in the year pretty much screams out to anyone that is expecting an income tax refund this year... I know quite a few of my buddies that will pickup a PS3 when it hits $300.

I'm hoping that this rumor turns out to be true... If so then I will start seeing a LOT more names popping up on my PSN friends list (that were previously hardcore 360 buffs)... ;-)

I've noitced that CoD4 online goes to crap when there's a LOT of people online with it. On both the PS3 and 360.

Here's to hoping that the next patch comes soon and addresses a lot of these issues. Electing a new host when the host cancels will be a big one... =)

Let's see... Microsoft knew that they had shipped enough 360's to have a holiday blitz like this, and they're still caught with their pants down when all of the traffic hits...

General rule of thumb... You ship that many units into the retail chains, you plan for every single one of them hitting the network and prepare accordingly...

Or it could just be yet another example of Microsoft software not scaling up very well... ;-)

"but alot of places dont want to run their BUSINESS with anything other than WINDOWS!!"

Becuase that's what they know, and what most people with any kind of computer skills know. Windows has more wide-spread exposure, how does that make Windows better than any of the alternatives out there?

MacOS appeals to the creative type becuase the OS doesn't get in your way, and things JUST WORK. If Apple would release a copy of MacOS X that would install on any...

Yep... Vista Home, and Vista Ultimate... Both suck.

Vista is not even close to being ready for business use. SLOW performance on decent hardware (Dell Core 2 Duo laptops and desktops), and with a combination of Vista and Office 2007, it's a painful experience even with 2GB of RAM.

Honestly, there's more DRM enhancements in Vista (that slow your PC down) than there are useful features for users. The eye candy in Vista is TRUMPED by Compiz-Fusion under Linux. ...

But you did ask it as a serious question, so here we go..

Will this....
1) Remove the jaggies?!!
Have you honestly played any of the recent PS3 titles? CoD4 is a testament to developers really getting a good understanding of the PS3 hardware. CoD4 is a great looking and playing game on both platforms, and is identical on both platforms (I own it for both systems). And need I remind that the 360 had some development hiccups in its first year as well...

After seeing the video link in 8.2, I truly must agree... Seeing an alpha PS3 devkit with a nice selection of the XMB options in-game (and a FAR more elegant presentation than what ended up in the release hardware)... You really have to wonder WHY Sony would not have just left things the way they were early on in development.

Adding just the simple XMB options shown in the video would be a VERY welcome change to the PSN online experience. All I'm asking for is an XMB present...

ps1 wasnt the 1st to use cds in its games...and as for DVDs, well no sh*t, thats obvious ur gonna go a better media storage when its available so its nothing to brag about.."

Then why didn't Microsoft do it with the 360? ;-)

I am getting three to four days worth of gaming (4 to 6 hours a day) out of my DualShock 3's... Playing marathon sessions of Uncharted (with rumble) did not seem to make any difference on battery life compared to my SixAxis controllers.

I have been using my DS3's exclusively since I got them, and I have not been disappointed by the battery life.

Once they finally release in the US, I'll be trading in my original SixAxis controllers and getting a couple more DS3'...

And once you get the chance to use one for a while, it's damn near impossible to go back to a regular SixAxis.

You may wonder why the controller feeling heavier may be a good thing, but it seriously does make the controller feel more solid.

Not to mention that the rumble patches are already rolling out. Resistance and Motorstorm have already been patched, and any demos off of PSN since the 1.92 firmware update released support rumble.

The beauty of the PS3 allowing user mods is that we can create our own game modes, new weapons, new vehicles, etc... The best way to take a look at UT3 is as a toolkit that you can do quite a bit with.

I just beat Uncharted today, and it is easily the best game of it's genre that I have played...

It just has that perfect mix of Tomb Raider/Prince of Persia style acrobatics and puzzles, Gears of War-like gun combat, and a great cinematic presentation.

I would highly recommend it to anyone that has a PS3 and enjoys a good action/exploration style game.

It's hard to say what Nintendo is going to do for their next system, and even when that new system will be coming out.

The Wii seriously only has a couple of years before it is completely outdated, and with the way that Nintendo has been making money hand over fist with the Wii, they could afford to come out with something in the next couple of years...

The only risk they run is alienating their current Wii customers. If they release a new console in two years, ...

It's hard to say whether Blu-Ray will be in the PS4 or not... Sony tends to advance their storage with each new console release...

If Blu-Ray is included with the PS4, it will more than likely be the 200GB Blu-Ray discs.

Amazon rocks for getting good prices on Blu-Ray movies... I've only paid over $19.99 for four of my movies...

Keep in mind that I only own 10 movies on DVD... I mostly rented DVD movies other than the very select few that I knew I would watch a few times...

Then again, I'm one of those people that thought that Mini-Disc was great (best format to use in the car... the encased discs were virtually indestructible and re-record able, along with the anti-skip buf...
