Which is why when you're playing a PS3 game like R6:Vegas that maxes out at 720P, your display is showing it, IN 720P..
So if the PS3 is displaying a game in 1080P, then guess what... It's NATIVELY running in 1080P.
The only games that you CAN upscale on the PS3 are PS1 and PS2 titles.
Nice try...
That I primarily do my gaming on my PS3, and have the 360 and Wii for their (good) exclusives only...
Microsoft is taking a beating in the hardware department... This is their first custom hardware architecture, and it is plagued with issues.
Microsoft is going to have to do their homework on their next XBox and make sure things like this don't happen again...
Sony REALLY needs to keep close tabs on their execs... They were doing so good there for a while not saying stupid crap, then this happens...
Granted, the original launch price was a good deal for what all you got, but come off it already...
MOST of my buddies are impressed with my PS3 when I bring it by, but NONE of them are willing to shell out the cash for one...
If Sony were to get the price point down to $400 or less, they would be doing much...
lol... i like it... sounds like my local GameStop employee... "There's no RROD. It's a myth made up by people who hate the Xbox..."
The funny thing is when I went to buy my 360 from my local GameStop, all three guys behind the counter asked me if I REALLY wanted to get a 360... Warning me about the number of RROD'd 360's they get back on a regular basis. The guy in front of me in line was returning a 360 that had died on him. ;-)
I made sure to get o...
Agreed. Rare put out some great games for Nintendo during the SNES and N64 days.
Yet Nintendo still seems to think that their games alone are all they really need to succeed. How quickly they forget that third party developer support is what made the NES a success versus the Sega Master System (which Sega tried to rely on first party games too heavily with this system).
I really hope they allow this eventually... That would make for a huge online community for PS3 UT3 players...
I sooooooo can't wait for this game to come out...
Halo 3 is definitely good, but not my idea of the best FPS ever... That honor would go to the Unreal Tournament series... (In my biased, Epic fanboy opinion ;-) Killzone 2 shows some real promise, but I can't wait to be fragging away like a fiend with a mouse and keyboard UT 3 style...
But why support the Sony Defense Force? They make us PS3 fans look like complete fantards!!
I whole-heartedly support the PS3, but not the Sony Defense Force... They just fuel ...
I've downloaded around 95 Gigs of game demos, videos, etc (my PS3 is rocking out with a 160GB hard drive)... I've downloaded quite a few PSN games (Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online and Warhawk are AMAZING), and have no problems with my PS3 staying connected to PSN for weeks on end...
You may want to check into whether there's a firmware update for your router. I had connectivity issues with my Linksys WRT54GP until I updated the firmware (the issues were not limited to my P...
3.) You dont think people will be pissed about the price drop so early into the consoles lifespan. Ask all those people who were pissed when Apple dropped the price of the iphone.
iPhone early adopters were pissed over a $200 price drop two months after launch... I'd be pissed too...
As far as the PS3 price dropping $100, I welcome it. That just means that its just that much closer to being affordable to more of my buddies. As an early adopter, I knew that it ...
Agreed... The 20GB should be $399.99 (or lower)
A $349.99 20GB PS3 would sell well...
It is the launch 20GB... With no WiFi or card readers. But then again it has full backward compatibility...
If only Sony would have just kept the 20GB model around, and dropped its price to $399.99...
I'll PM you with a link for the 20GB PS3 for $399.99 (from a reputable reseller)
The only things you would be lacking would be WiFi and the card readers...
I've got the component cables, and it looks pretty decent playing videos. My only real complaint is that games do not take up the whole screen. There is a pretty big black border around the game output.
On a 1080p TV, it looks about like playing a Playstation 2, but it does resolve the ghosting issue seen on the PSP screen (like when playing either of the GTA games on the PSP)
Here's to hoping that future firmware versions will enable fullscreen gaming (and the...
They have already made truckloads of money off of the DS and Wii... Even if both of those systems started tanking, Nintendo has more than enough money to develop the next versions of both.
Personally, I hope that their next handheld and home console are actually powerful this time around... Both the Wii and DS could have been amazing if they had more graphical punch...
If the old rumors of the Revolution packing a dual-core 2Ghz CPU would have come true, then i...
What they need to do is to bring the Playstation Store to the PSP. That would make a LOT more sense...
Allow PSP owners to directly download PS1 games and PSP demos...
And put out PSN titles for the PS3/PSP (kinda like they do with the PS1 games).
Anybody that has played Metroid 3: Corruption knows that the Wii is capable of decent graphics...
This is probably just going to be another rush job to get a Wii title out there... Like so many other Wii games out currently...
My Onkyo reciever supports HDMI video switching, but does not do audio over HDMI. Kinda ticked me off becuase it's a 7.1 receiver and the my devices will only do 7.1 over HDMI.
So yeah, I can see how this guy would need the HDMI and optical cable combo...
Corporations in general need to learn that customers prefer to talk to a support agent that not only actually knows their sh1t about the product they're supporting, but is from the same continent as they are...
Even tech jobs and other high-skill positions are being off-shored... Developers, SQL DBA's, Tech Support, Mechanical Engineers, Electronics Engineers... It's bad enough that most of America's manufacturing has already gone overseas, but when you start sending over eve...
After having worked for the evil empire, I find it hard to believe that the tech support agent didn't have access to the product manuals, and OBVIOUSLY wasn't even properly trained in the product he was "supporting".
At least things weren't THAT bad when Microsoft was using Software Spectrum, Keane, and other AMERICAN outsourcing providers...
I can understand going with an outsourcing agency from India to support customers in Asia and the middle east......
Ummm... Check your facts...
The PS3 version WILL support user mods, and 32 player is very possible on the PS3 (Resistance does 32 players without missing a beat)
I believe you're referring to the XBox 360 version, which is still up in the air as far as supporting user mods, not sure about the number of players in multiplayer though...
I'll be picking this one up on the PS3 day one... As soon as I heard about the user mods and mouse/keyboard suppor...
