The DualShock3 controllers will be hitting the US/Europe very soon (I already have two white DualShock3's from Japan), with pretty much every game since firmware 1.92 releasing having rumble enabled (other than CoD4... Infinity Ward, where's the PS3 rumble love?)

As far as achievements, both Uncharted and DMC4 have accomplishments. I'm willing to bet $60 now that GTA4 has accomplishments and rumble on the PS3 when it releases.

And 7.5...Those "useless" co...

I wonder how much the EU antitrust rulings had to do with this... I just don't see Microsoft all of a sudden having a change of heart on the opensource community without being forced to do so.

Although I have long said that if Microsoft were to start embracing other platforms, that their software has the chance to do very well. I wouldn't mind seeing Microsoft Office for Linux, or maybe some of the Microsoft PC games for Linux (Microsoft Flight Simulator, or the Age of Empires ...

Is if Sony would add Linux support to the engine. Even if it was only x86 Linux support, that could mean that a lot more games start coming out natively for Linux.

So far only ID Software and Epic show some love to the Linux gaming community. I would love to see that become far more common.

"How can you create game without 7 PS3's SPU on PC?
Lame engine. Sony will never be so good in software."

So are you saying that DiRT sucked? Seeing a game like that pulled off on PC/X360/PS3 was quite impressive, and it will only get better...

Kudos to Sony for embracing the principles of the Open-source community! ;-)

That's just flat out bias or just being absolutely set in their ways to a fault...

Infinity Ward has put together a SOLID cross-platform engine with CoD4. It runs great on Windows, Xbox 360, AND PS3. Valve is just so set in their ways that they don't want to learn how to work with the PS3 architecture.

The 360 is a natural extension from PC/Windows architecture, they didn't have to learn much to adapt from Windows development.

The PS3 is more like a ve...

My point exactly... When you compare watching a movie over XBL to watching the same movie on Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, there is no comparison.

The XBL version is definitely watch-able, but nowhere near the video and audio clarity you get from 1080p video with 7.1 channel uncompressed audio.

Digital Distribution will not be a serious contender until there is an industry standard spec that allows the content to be played on the player of your choice. With the way digital di...

Actually... T1's are SLOW by today's standards. T1's are only good for 1.544Mbit/sec up and down. My cable modem can peak out around 22Mbit/sec down.

Once T3 speeds (45Mbit/sec) are more commonplace, THEN I can see digital distribution of HD content at Blu-Ray quality being feasible.

BUT, in order for this to be possible on a wide-scale basis, it will take a MAJOR overhaul of the Internet backbone connections. ISP's are already screaming about the bandwidth consu...

"I have Comcast. But the way Live and Netflix seem to work. Your bandwidth is calculated with the file size/length, and when enough of of the file is downloaded/buffered, it allows you to start viewing. For a 2gb movie, it takes approx 2-5 minutes before I'm able to start watching. Some people seem to be thinking that a movie has to be completely downloaded before you can start enjoying it."

Well, if you have Comcast, then you're familiar with how transfer rates on your...

Same here... Those screenshots look more polished than the accomplishments in DMC4 though... Instead of the generic PS3 message popup you get in DMC.

Microsoft released a HD-DVD drive that does not have HDCP capabilities standard, and could have run into issues once the image constraint token was enabled on HD-DVD discs.

My guess is that HD-DVD was just a diversion tactic to give Microsoft time to get IPTv up and running. If they truly cared about HD-DVD, the 360 would have used it from the start, with games on HD-DVD.

One of my buddies (you know who you are if you read this ;-) is about the biggest Nintendo fanboy you will ever meet. "Even though the PS3 only had 200k units at launch, there was no shortage after that, and it still didn't sell terribly well. Because people quite simply didn't want to pay $500-600 for a system with few games out during a time when the winner of the HD-media format war was still very-much undecided."

I would say that nine million units worldwide in a little over a year even with the ridiculously high price and none of the heavy hitter exclusive titles out yet selling p...

You just need a DualShock3 to feel it ;-)

Pretty much every game since Ratchet & Clank has rumble (except CoD4.. What's the deal Infinity Ward?)

Even older games are getting rumble... Resistance: FoM, Motorstorm, Heavenly Sword are all examples.

I have noticed how the 360 demo does suffer from occasional screen tearing, while the PS3 demo and full game do not (so far).

This just goes to show you that cross-platform games are coming out...

This could mean a PS3 slim is a real possibility. A slim redesign would allow Sony to keep the prices where they're at, and drive up demand.

If Sony put out a slim PS3 with 45nm Cell, RSX, Emotion Engine & GS and kept the ability to use any laptop SATA HDD for $450 - $500... I would get one. =)

I would wager on a slim PS3 before another significant price drop. Also with some real heavy hitters coming up in '08, $400 could be a sweet spot for the PS3 for now.....
