Open Zone --> That way...
Sony should play it the same way they have been doing things... Release the new console after the last has been out for six years. That worked for the PS1 - PS2, and PS2 - PS3.
Although I really think that Sony needs to keep the cost down on the PS4 at launch... $500 to $600 at launch nearly proved to be a fatal blunder. The PS3 didn't start to hit its stride until it hit $400.
All they really need to do is improve on the Cell architecture (like fix the slow re...
You are right that allowing any 2.5" SATA drive in the PS3 does open the opportunity for slower performance, but just like crck says, it also opens the door for better performance.
You have a definite a valid point for anyone considering upgrading the hard drive in their PS3. It's a bit like building or upgrading your PC, if you try to go cheap, you may get sub-par performance. Where doing a little bit of homework, and spending a little extra money on a component can reall...
"but when it comes to those companies publishing movies and content on xbox live marketplace knowing that the xbox 360 hard drive is safer than any PC hard drive (including the PS3)."
Judging from your post, it's obvious that you've never used a PS3 before...
First off, you can put ANY 2.5" SATA drive into your PS3, but once you do that, that drive is LOCKED to that particular PS3. If you were to put the drive from one PS3 into another PS3, you would ...
"As for Nintendo letting 3rd parties release shovelware/garbage on the Wii, I think the reason why Nintendo is allowing it is because it believes the free market will sort everything out."
Yep, that strategy worked GREAT for the Atari 2600 </sarcasm>
Amen to that... and bubbles for you!
I don't know about overall sales, but there were close to 100 people picking up copies at the midnight GTA4 launch at my local GameStop.
That same GameStop is still out of stock of GTA4 a week later... It's selling like gangbusters in my area...
You're lucky... I have an 80GB PS3, and on Friday and Saturday it would just freeze when loading my save game if I was signed into PSN. If I signed out, it would work. It was strange, becuase it worked fine on Friday up until around 10:00pm...
Somehow it was working fine yesterday... I actually got some online matches in.
I was hoping that with GTA4 being delayed until this year that Rockstar would have the chance to debug and polish the game...
I haven't run into this bug yet, but I have gone fast enough in a car to "outrun" the road texture... ;-)
There are a good few bugs/flaws in both versions of the game... Hopefully Rockstar already has a patch in the works to address these issues...
I have an 80GB PS3 (Motorstorm bundle), and I had the freezing issue on Friday and yesterday. Whenever I tried to start the game, it would get to where it was loading my save game and just hang. Logging out of PSN fixed it, but ruled-out any chance of online play.
The good news is that I have played a good few matches online this morning with no issues. I'm not sure what happened to cause that hiccup, but it seems to be fixed now.
Agreed... And the fact that Blu-Ray stand alone players actually went UP in price once HD-DVD died is just flat-out stupid... Especially with global economies in the crunch they are in now...
I guess there are still some moronic managers left at Sony... Now that they actually have the chance to make Blu-Ray really take off, they decide to go greedy and kill off the market...
The only chance that Blu-Ray has at mass-market adoption at this point is to start bringin...
It would be amazing if Konami had the first three MGS games re-done in the MGS4 engine as downloadable content for MGS4.
I know I would buy them...
Bubbles for you!
Look out for that scary ghost! ;-)
When Dark Alex stopped with the custom firmwares for a few months, the PSP hacking scene STOPPED.
Sony should just offer him a lucrative salary, and get him working on making the official firmware better. There are a LOT of features that are not there that I would LOVE to see (integration with the Sony Connect online store, Playstation Store, etc.)
Once the PSP is able to access the PSN Store directly, start offering MORE PSP game downloads. I'm glad to see that So...
I can see where you're coming from, but I LOVE my Intel iMac. And I have long said that if Apple was to release a version of OS X that ran on regular PC hardware that it would be a huge hit.
I'm actually glad that they started using Intel hardware. IBM wasn't keeping up with Intel performance-wise... Although a Cell based Mac would have been VERY interesting... :-)
1. More software. period. I use alot of small programs here and there, like daemon tools, win rar, bit comet and a TON more. Nope not on Macs
Let's see... In MacOS, you can open ISO files by just double clicking it, or there's an opensource app that will let you do it. There are multiple RAR utilities for the Mac. And there are LOTS of BitTorrent clients for the mac.
2. Upgradibility. Need more ram? or a better video card? PC easy peasy just go to the local comp s...
I will say that I was rather pleasantly surprised at how well Vista Ultimate runs on my iMac (with 4GB of RAM). I have a copy of Vista Ultimate that I got shortly after launch, but it ran like absolute crap on my "Vista Ready" Acer Aspire 5670 laptop, so I never activated it.
I fired up Boot Camp and installed Vista on an 80GB partition, and it runs beautifully. I haven't done much with Vista other than install Office 2007 and some game demos, but it worked really wel...
I'm not sure if Sony put beefier batteries in the DS3, but I don't see a battery life difference between the SixAxis and The DualShock 3, and I've had my DS3's since mid-November.
But anyways, you can disable the rumble function in-game at any time using the PS button menu.
I hope Sony starts phasing out the SixAxis controller once the DualShock3 releases worldwide. Right now I wouldn't buy a bundle that came with two SixAxis controllers with the DualShock3 right around the corner.
I'm willing to bet that if Sony offered those bundles with two DS3's for the same price, they would sell much better. The only bundle game that doesn't support rumble is CoD4.
I have a pair of Japanese DS3's, and have been loving it since mid November. I d...
Personally, if installing game data helps to reduce loading time per level, bring it on...
This game looks SICK!!! 1'st day buy (or midnight launch) for me!
