Doesn't look so promising to me. It doesn't appear to have any of the 'magic' that made the original game so appealing. The translation to 3D comes off looking a lot more stale. As many have said, looks like Spiderman with guns. Plus I didn't like how freakin huge his bionic arm was; it looked off. Still, I'll give it a chance.
Bionic Commando was one of my favorite games back in the day too... But I'm not so hopeful of this remake. I definitely hope it's done well but it just seems like a tough concept to do well in a 3D environment (assuming it's fully 3D). The bionic arm was an easy gimmick to have fun with on 2D levels... if this comes off as feeling 'cheap' I'll be mad that they didn't do the game justice. But only time will tell...
My thoughts exactly. The only way that an old franchise made new could have been as exciting as they made it sound was if it were an exclusive... and even then, I would have had my doubts about this franchise. Not b/c I didn't love it as a kid... just b/c it's hard to imagine it being as fun & immersive in a 3D environment. They'd better do it right!
lol, yea that was classic. it exposes the reason that the 360 will never be a good mainstream console. it's actually a great hardcore system, but it lacks titles that have the type of appeal that Uncharted, Folklore, Eye of Judgment and R&C have.
This is good news, if true, but right now I just want them to finish up White Knight Story.
I just pre-ordered it 2 weeks ago. One of my most anticipated games of the year...
PSP sales more than trippled with the release of Final Fantasy Crisis Core... it would be foolish to not expect the same when FF XIII releases on PS3. We all know that MGS4 & FF XIII are going to sell consoles. Plus, the PS3 userbase is already large enough for each game to sell 2M+ copies. When the games are released, they're both likely to sell 2M in a month or less.
Maybe you've been absent on gaming news for the past few months, but PS3'ers actually have more exclusive games to look forward to in these next few months than any of us that only own a 360.
But everyone has always agreed that Mass Effect was one of the powerhouses for the 360... if it's no longer exclusive, there's a lot less to look forward to when it comes to exclusives.
And there it is... the next two games are very likely to end up multiplats.
Your argument makes little sense. Mass Effect will be an awesome game... but it doesn't boast any quality in ANY area that hasn't already been realized on the PS3. The only way this game would have to be downgraded is for the Wii. There are already games with better environments, character models, and animations on the PS3... so if anything the devs may be able to make an even better game by learning the PS3 hardware.

Actually there are a ton of XBLA games with low scores... I don't think they gave this game an unfair score. Stardust is still my favorite so far but I'd be willing to give this a try.

I don't agree that it's graphically superior than most PS3 OR 360 games... however, it is more graphically beautiful and artistic than most of them... and maybe that's what you meant. The cutscenes are absolutely stunning & the comic strip portions are pretty cool too.
I must agree though that this game is one of the most, if not THE most, uniquely fun games I've played so far this gen. It's one of those games that I bought a PS3 for in the first place... games like this an...
And I WILL be buying this game. However, graphically this game still is not up to par with VF5 or Soul Caliber IV (which looks like the best looking fighter so far this gen).
However, Tekken & Soul Caliber are my two favorite fighters and I will own them both regardless.

Didn't think I could get any MORE excited for this game! Heavenly Sword, next Folklore, then R&C, then Uncharted, & then Haze... I LOVE MY PS3!!!. Looking forward to Eye of Judgement, Assassin's Creed, & COD4 too... plenty of games to enjoy this holiday.
HO-LY SH!T... I pre-ordered this game and was going to get it anyway, but I had no idea it would get such great reviews! I figured it'd be a A-AA game at best. Loved the demo though... Really can't wait to play now.
Well, the graphics certainly look AWESOME. But I still don't know enough about the gameplay or story yet... I might see what else I can find on the game but last time I remember looking, there wasn't really much 'news' around the game. Til then... not much to be excited about imo. Could be as awesome as the visuals... could suck. Same with Dark Sector imo... although I'm not really that impressed with the visuals in Dark Sector.
There was a VAST improvement over their 2006 build... awesome to see really. EVERYthing about the later build looks way better... lighting, character models, environment, art detail, etc... Naughty Dog has done a good job pushing their vision on this game!
MAN, that was my favorite game on the NES!!! And yet I'm still finding it hard to get excited about the new installment. The trailer just didn't come off seeming as exciting as the original game was. There was a lot of platforming strategy w/ the bionic arm in the first game... and I didn't really get a sense of that from the new trailer.
