I love DBZ games and will probably get this one just to have a next gen version of DBZ. However, I have to say that this vid is not the next gen leap I'd envisioned for the series. Aside from slightly better looking particle effects, this game doesn't look much different than the previous ones.
I enjoyed the PR chick... I'd like to see more of her in interviews. But the dude was a geek.
Anyway, I CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on MGS4. MGO is sounding better & better as well. This is defnintely my single most anticipated title of 08.
Only other games I'm really looking forward to at all are LBP, The Agency, KZ2, GTA IV, & NG2... maybe Too Human but I'm still pretty skeptical on that one.
I think we all know that the numbers are not 100%. I remember that VG used to have a disclaimer stating so themselves.
But what this does show is a new trend of Sony outselling the 360 on global sales. This is good for Sony, but their userbase still will not overtake the 360 until they start outselling them in the U.S. At their current pace, they would only outsell the 360 by an additional 2.5-3M this year (unless 360 sales simultaneously begin to drop throughought the year).
...
Because games aimed at the Japanese market sale well worldwide. And games aimed at Western audiences sell well in both the U.S. and Europe... either way you look at it, the PS3 will have the advantage in software sales as its userbase continues to grow. The advantage that the 360 has at the moment is a larger user base... but in light of 2008's software releases, I think that gap is going to get MUCH smaller this year even in the U.S.
Actually, if this trend continues, the PS3 is closing the gap w/ the 360 in NA. The games are continuing to impress audiences and it really is the best system to own in '08 with the number of high profile exclusives.
Regardless, it is continuing to outsell the 360 world wide now... so it will eventually surpass the 360 as well. Its main competition now is the Wii.
Because in every picture except for the 4th one, the PS3 pics really did look noticeably better. Not sure what about the 360 ones ppl would like better???
This game is going to be INSANE. Easily the most anticipated game of 08!!!
You all act as if this would be the first time executives from any of the three companies were wrong, or misleading, about release dates. Microsoft also misled us on the release dates of Forza 2 & Mass Effect, so this wouldn't be anything new.
At any rate, the devs of the game are to be trusted more than MS execs.... MS execs are reaching to have ANY blockbuster titles for 2008, so of course they want Alan Wake to land in '08. I think it's the only exclusive game most of u...
Yep, that's what they said. Although that sounds pretty far fetched to me... on the 360 at least. Maybe they can do it on the PC version. We have too much lag with 16 ppl on the 360, I can't see 200.
However, IF they do pull it off then this game will have a lot more appeal to me. Reading up on the different classes & weapons it has doesn't do much else to set it apart.
I do like the idea of shooter based MMO's, but I think The Agency got it right... you ha...
Hmmm.... it looks okay. It looks like it has potential to be a good game. From what they showed though... doesn't look much different than playing any of the fps we have now online.
One thing that does look really good is the game world itself. It wasn't interesting enough for me to want to watch the entire vid... The music in the vid was really annoying though so that probably had something to do with it too.
If they include some type of faction themes & ba...
WOW! Well that's one more dissapointment for the 360. Blue Dragon was somewhat of a letdown as well. But much like BD, I suspect that it will at least provide a nice diversion until games like White Knight Story and FFX III come out.
I REALLY hope that the game comes to NA!!! Past Yakuza games probably didn't faire as well in the U.S. b/c of the GTA series... but this 3rd installment is something completely different based on the same sandbox style of gameplay and I would gladly have both GTA IV and Yakuza 3 in my game library!!! Hopefully Sega realizes that there is a market for the game outside of Japan!
Assuming that their goal is to sell at least 1M copies, I'm pretty sure they'll release outside of Jap...
Not that Warhawk is like either of those games but the speed is closer to UT3 than Halo 3. It's fast paced, adrenaline rush type action... You can use strategy... but you won't have time while you're playing to strategize.
Alternately, if you choose to sit in a turret and wait for the chance to shoot down warhawks and tanks... or is you find a good sniping position, the game slows down. But that's part of the beauty of this game... the amount of options they gave us allow us to...
While I agree that 64 players would be cool... it has proven not to be necessary as of yet. Although Warhawk has some huge maps... it leaves space to take sneaky routes to your objectives (particularly when trying to avoid the 'hot spots' when returning the flag). But even though the maps are big, it's never hard to find where the primary action is.... I suspect it will be the same on this map.
I guess my point is, the only way to be on a map and not be in the action is if you...
I will DEFINITELY be importing this game if a US release date has not been announced by March!
Japanese PS3 sales will continue to soar when this game comes out too.... Especially considering it will be shortly followed by MGS4!
I don't think there will be a lack of ppl playing these new maps. I know that Resistance sold more copies but Warhawk seems like a much more hardcore community of gamers.
Even after the release of COD4, Warhawk remains to be my favorite online game (eventhough I absolutely love COD4 too though).
LOL... if that's what the 360 has to offer next year... doesn't seem to be so golden next to the competition. Seriously... Splinter Cell??? Are we kidding? Afro Samurai??? Too Human and Fable 2?!!! Sony fanboys are laughing at you right now.
Ninja Gaiden 2 and Lost Odyssey should be pretty awesome. But that's just not enough. Alan Wake is still questionable but hopefully it'll turn out decent.
You're living in a dreamworld. PS3 games clearly look better than 360 games at this point. And unlike games played over Live, online games on the PS3 don't suffer from lag! And you all have to pay for the service, lol! Not to mention the fact that the PS3 hardware is actually reliable. PS3 is the most next gen system... just look at the games. The 360's best looking game is a year old, meanwhile the PS3 already has games that look better with even more coming out next year. You sound more lik...
What the hell are you talking about? There are already games that will include co-op far before Splinter Cell (which has always sucked in comparison to MGS by the way). Rainbow 6 already includes co-op as will Haze. Haze is reported to have the smoothest implementation of co-op yet. Having co-op is a developer decision and has nothing to do with the system you moron.
And what exactly is it that they're missing out on. Most of the games on the system don't appeal to anyone in the region. Even amongst western gamers the system only appeals to the hardcore shooter fans.... sales of the system slowed down WORLDWIDE last year as compared with the year before.
There were plenty of games that appealed to us Americans last year... but there's not much I'm looking forward to on the 360 this year at all.
